Hello Susana, all that I can say at this present moment is- Pray ! and ask for God's forgiveness. God is Good. God is Kind; Patient and Merciful- that's why God need to be revered, in every heart. When people become indifferent to God's Holiness, unpleasant circumstances of such kind are send as reminders. Just follow what the people of Nineveh did at Jonah's command. Everyone should humble themselves and pray for God's Forgiveness and Mercy. God will certainly relent. P.S. When Faith in God declines in the hearts of the people- everything suffers. I see that the Faith (in God) of the people in the western countries is on decline. Most of the youngsters have abandoned their Faith- they don't go for Holy Mass. As Prophet Jeremiah said: "You live in a world of bad faith! Out of bad faith, they refuse to know me, Yahweh declares. " [Jeremiah 9:5] Indeed,we are living in a world of bad Faith, and so many people refuse to believe in God and obey God in their life. And when such tragic events happen in our world- we still stubbornly persevere in our unbelief and refuse to honor God. Our unbelief in God, is most hurtful to God- nevertheless, God the Heavenly Father, patiently waits for our humble return. HE is still waiting. Begin with yourself and pray for others, as well.
@,susana my sister 🙏💞GOD IS SENDING ANGELES AND THEY WILL OPEN THE HEAVEN'S FOR YOU THIS YEAR AND NEXT YOU WILL HAVE MORE RAIN THEN IMAGINED !!🙏🙏 GOD BLESS YOU ALL THERE!🇺🇸
I saw this movie when I was in college, when it first came out. It still touches my heart life like few films since. The boy, Faulkner, did a wonderful job in portraying a childlike innocence and faith in his God. He did a wonderful job, and should be well proud of his work in this film. Mr. Faulkner, if you ever read this, THANK YOU FROM MY THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.
Very true, I searched in google only to find that after this movie he retired from acting in order to support his family in more stable employment. Such a shame the world could not see more of this wonderful actor, this movie and his particular character were very moving for me.
Wonderful movie by Zeffirelli, with heavenly songs by the inspired Donovan and a sublime performance by Graham Faulkner as Saint Francis of Assis. A masterpiece.
It's more than 40 years I watched the movie in its Spanish version. It caused me a deep impression, but I was too young to understand its full meaning. Now I've seen the English version with Donovan's songs, I'm much older and I think I've understood the movie much better. Some scenes make me cry of pure emotion. Faulkner's is a great performance. Zeffirelli a great director with a fine sensitivity.
It's good to know about your sentiments, concerning this wonderful movie. Yes, there are many things in life which we do not understand- but like Our Bl.Virgin Mary, we must keep pondering in our heart and wait patiently- and at opportune time, God will make us see and understand everything clearly. Have a Blessed day !!!
I hope, too, and pray, but prophecy in New Testanent are diferent for future of mankind. Now playing apostasy against God and runing to Apocalipsa of St Apostle John throu Jesus words when Jonh write that last book in Holy Bible. Lord Jesus, also talking in Gospel about Time of the End and His Second coming.
Lord help me to be pure and be a simple person. Give me your simple love infant Jesus. Please let me see with your eyes....to love like you love....to walk like you walk....and to work like you work.
Two years ago, when I was 12, I saw this movie with a teacher! In this part of my life, things happened to me that still hurt! And yes, I'm starting to forget! So that you can't conclude that I watch this movie and its music many times every year! The tears won't stop..
Don't be disappointed. In this world (of bad faith) and in this life, be strong and stand firm in your faith in God. There will be many to hurt your feelings and a very few to console you. So, be strong - and be with God.😇
The melody sounds very much like the hymn "This is my body, this is my blood" which I remember singing during mass a few decades ago. I have not heard it sung in church in some time though.

It was only yesterday that I was able to see this movie (just a clip now) again since 1991. I was in the first year of seminary formation then and we watched this along with my fellow seminarians in VHS technology. That was the first time I learned about St. Francis of Assisi. I loved the movie to the point of singing and humming the songs after we watched it for several days.
Maravillosa película! San Francisco de Asís el Santo que más se parece a Jesús, belleza de alma la suya y profundísimo mensaje en su imitación de Cristo, mi Santo preferido
extraordinaria pelicula, una de las mejores hechas por el gran Franco Zeffirelli. extraordinary film, one of the best made by the great Franco Zeffirelli.
Jesus eu te amo Jesus eu te adoro Jesus eu te necessito Me faz um homem melhor Me faz um pai e um filho melhor Me perdoa Senhor Tende misericórdia de mim!
God bless you too, friend! This film marked me for life ... I never tire of watching it. The world today more than ever, forgotten LOVE ETERNAL GOD! Very exciting! Tom.
You do not understand a thing . There's salvation in every sunbeam , every drop of rain , a simple stone . If you can see it , you're as far as Francisco was , not before. I'm Roman Catholic, btw.
@@michaelworse6034 Michael, I'm glad you are Catholic, but I must say it is you who doesn't understand. There is no salvation outside the Church, what Jerry wrote is true and reality. Your ideas are pantheistic, which is condemned by the Church for good reason. Many demonic cultures / religions that worshipped nature did horrific, inhuman & unGodly things due to their false religions, including human & infant sacrifices, orgies and other Satanically-influenced practices... There is no salvation outside the Catholic Church.
💐💐🙏🏻🙏🏻RIP Giovanni di Pietro di Bernardone, OFM, better known as Francis of Assisi (1181 - 3 October 1226) (aged 44) and Clare of Assisi (born Chiara Offreduccio) (16 July 1194 - 11 August 1253) (aged 59) my prayers go out to you, and you will truly never be forgotten.💐💐🙏🏻🙏🏻
Actually it doesn't count who you sing this song for. Francis of Assisi was an open minded man who saw the horrors of war and looked for a divine entity which could end the wars. Anyone of us who are looking for a divine existence who can end the wars near to our countries can use this song as a prayer, and all the gods and goddesses who are ready to end a war will hear it. #ukraine
