That transition you mentioned is the coldest and my favorite my ears have ever witnessed. Just loved how it goes from the melodic softness of the female vocalist's voice to the rough grunting voice of the male's. So badass and I love it every time I hear it

You should really check out more of their music. Hel, Emblas Saga, Yggdrasil, Chain Breaker, and Powersnake are all really good.

They are really fun to listen to and to watch. If you want to listen to more of their stuff, I'd recommend Kaunaz Dagaz for the funny stuff, and Yggdrasil or Powersnake for the more traditional stuff. The Band has been around for more than 10 years now, and they are actually from Sweden, so I guess the Viking theme was more or less just waiting for them back when they were founded. :)

Viking-inspired Metal has been around for about 25 years now. You got the Melodic Death Metal band, Amon Amarth, who were the pioneers of the genre. Then you got Rebellion, who are made up of mostly former members of Grave Digger. Leaves' Eyes, a symphonic metal band whose last 4 albums have all been Viking inspired. And now Brothers of Metal that have only been on the scene the last 5 years or so. I think they're working on their 3rd album, as they released 2 new Singles last year.
