My step mothers is one of the brown babies she live in San Bernardino California. She lost all contact with her mothers and siblings. And doesn’t know how to find them. Her dad went back to Germany and got her. Her name is Ingrid Hercules
That's great that her dad went back and got her. Sadly, due to the Jim Crow laws in the USA that did not allow different "races" to marry each other, the black American men could not get married to their German girlfriends. Quite a few would have liked to do that, but the laws in many states forbade marriage in those days. Thus, the suffering of the children. It's always the children that pay the highest price of what adults do.
My mom too. Growing up in the village she wondered why people stared at her wherever she went, some chanting "mzungu" "mzungu " which means " white one" "white one". she hated herself for being different from her Father, Mother and siblings. One day her maternal grandmother told her that she was born of a white father and that she was never to talk about it. This was in Njoro, Kenya early 1940's. Many of those mixed race (brown babies) married each other. Whenever together they refer to each other as the "tiny race ". Resilient people who are proudly mixed race. 💕
@@juliansearcie1758 Yes, the commanders of most units would allow white American men to marry their German girlfriends but denied the same to most black American men. Often they would report the German girls and women to the German police (in the 1950s), claiming that the women were prostitutes and should be arrested by the German police. P. back then was illegal and punishable by imprisonment. Can one imagine the diabolical intent of these commanders?
@@helena8274 A few years ago I overheard one Nigerian lady telling another one "look at this one with her white child". It was end of the school day and the lady picked up her kid from school. The woman they were talking about was another black lady with her very light-skinned child (father was white English) - apparently having the child of a white man was very strange to these two ladies. This happened in the south of England. Until then I did not know that some black people were as judgmental as some white people in regards to black/white families. I love this about the "tiny race".
Thank you for sharing your experiences. I am sending you all love. I am sorry that things have happened to you. You all aren't a victims. You all are victors. You all are not survivors. You are thrivers!!thrivers!! There is power in your story because it didn't destroy you. It grew you. Thank you. Peace and love.
Have any of you guys taken DNA test to find your families in the US... If any of you where in my family you would definitely be welcomed. My grandfather was in WW2 when I look at yall I see 2 blk men
The reason they call themselves brown babies is because their birth fathers were black USA soldiers and their birth mothers were white German women…they are brown babies because some of them get their light skin tone from their birth fathers while some of them may look more like their birth mothers family because of how light their skin tone is . I’m really sorry that you all had to through that…if you were part of my family I would fully embrace you and love you because I have German blood in my family and I’m engaged to the most amazing Jamaican black man…he is on the the lighter skin tone…I love him and his family so very much. I hope that you can find you live your life for the rest of live knowing that you have people who truly support you.
We are all shades of brown going from white looking light skinned white peoples to dark looking brown peoples that are black people. This is sad because we all really did come from one human family not monkeys. And all the shades of peoples are seen thru their human haplogroups and the branches in them that make us each different. I learned this from the website "Answers in Genesis."
