A busy day in Alaska, I start off at Farm Lodge in Port Alsworth, fly to Katmai National Park to film brown bears at Brooks Falls, take a float plane back to Port Alsworth and then fly back to Anchorage to meet up with the guys from Wild and Exposed. This trip is the first time I've seen grizzly bears in the wild and Katmai is one of the best places to get up close and personal with minimal safety risk. I filmed over two dozen different brown bears, including huge males and several sow bears with cubs. The salmon were plentiful and competition amongst the bears was relatively low so I didn't witness any fights, other than play fights that the cubs and yearlings engaged in.
Thanks for watching!

How blessed you are to live in these moments and us to get the shared footage! The bears ... not a care in the world! They must get pretty full on that salmon and know boundaries with people. I loved watching the babies play! What a view to wake up to!

My excitement for the day was mowing the front lawn and 3/4 of the back yard! Had to save some thrill for tomorrow! (Chuckle, chuckle). Sure enjoyed watching this while I ate my supper tonight - my folks were at Brooks Falls back in the mid-70's - Now I see what they raved about! I was amazed to see inactive volcanoes on your flight back to Anchorage! Such a vast landscape! As always, Stay safe!

The camera work, the story and the use of music was fantastic. I’m not blowing smoke now, it was great. Those bears on the beach were adorable and how big, massive are those mountains!!!! So very stunning. I'm glad the U.S. has preserved this beautiful state and haven't put up strip mall and cookie cutter houses here. It's probably only because of the harsh winter climate. It's hard to believe the Eskimos have made this their home for hundreds of years. Those bears though. Clean them up and they look like a good house pet. It was awesome to see them daintily pull the skin from the salmon with their teeth. Thank you Shawn for a look into this rugged land that I will never experience in person. I hope you had a great time and the memories you made were golden.

Hello Irene, I'm from Alaska and I thought I'd take the opportunity to let you know their are 226 tribes in Alaska and the Eskimo is made up of Alutiiq (Sugpiaq Eskimo) from Kodiak and part of the SW area; Unangan (Aleut) from the Aleutian Islands; Eskimo group: Central Yupik, Siberian Yupik, from West coast, and Inupiaq NW - N coast; then the Eyak from South Central coast; Athabaskan Indians (11 groups) from the interior of Alaska; Other Indian groups: Tlingit, Tsimshian, and Haida from Southeastern Alaska. I'm part Unangan and Tlingit as well as Russian, Irish, and Swede (non-natives who settled in the Aleutians where I'm originally from). Many think Alaska is only made up of the Eskimo group. I like to inform folks when I can. Have a good one. I'm blessed to live in Alaska.
@ireneburke1732

Sharon Kay I hope you understand I meant absolutely no harm in describing the indigenous people in this great state. I was aware there were different tribes but thought most if not all fell under the umbrella of Eskimos. Please forgive my ignorance, and going forward I will know better. Btw I live in Tennessee, which is also beautiful with the great smoky mountains.

@@sharonkay2674 Thank you for that marvelous information. Before I met my husband, he had lived in Alaska for several years as a journeyman electrician. That was absolutely awesome Shawn, you had me completely captivated. I could have carried on watching, admiring the beautiful and varied landscapes. Alaska is without a doubt an addictive place... There's something about that country that speaks to one's soul. One of these days, I hope to experience its beauty, its rugged snowcapped mountains and dense wilderness. The majestic lakes, streams and wildlife. Watching the videos of your journey, is like going on a spiritual journey. I cannot understand, and never will, how anyone can believe that everything we see around us, evolved! Rather than acknowledge that there is One Super Intelligent Creator of it all. Alaska speaks of creation and The Creator of all things. Thank you for taking us on your journey and thank you for capturing it all so magnificently. Thoroughly enjoyed watching. UK.

Hi Shawn. I spent 2 weeks in Alaska 5 years ago. I love the landscape in Ontario especially in your area but there is something about Alaska that words alone can not express. The mountains, the rivers and lakes, the glaciers , the bears and other animals, the whales and fish. As you said in your video the people are fantastic. Last but not least the cool clear air. I am super happy I got to experience it! From Hamilton Ontario
