Top video mate. Helped me get a good idea for what to do. Did mine yesterday, works a treat. Had to drill a 10mm hole on one of of the front mounting bolt holes as it wasn't quite big enough, apart from that, easy job.
Love your work. Haven’t completely disconnected the tail shaft and having a prick of a time. Rear bracket is hooked under the leaf spring. Need the car on the road tomorrow though so I’ll keep swearing at it for now 👍🏻
Thanks mate, your vid was gold! I just brought the Brown Davis steel tank and am please to find the ground broken - by you! Have you notice and load issues with your vehicle carrying the increased fuel capacity? Cheers, ..B
Cheers! I have found no issues with the load apart from a slightly slower 0-100km/h. Its a hell of a lot better than carrying liquid weight on your roof rack. Having the weight down low is great
Mate! Really 650km? Check your injectors and get a inlet clean. I get 980km out of my 1kd on stock tank. Was watching your vid to get one of these tanks to reach the 1600km+ range. Your range is concerning even fully loaded. Are you towing a caravan?
@@SendinIt bog stock from factory. Mine had a horrible cold start knock from new and I got them to replace injectors under warranty. Had awesome economy ever since
Hi there, love your videos. I bought a 2014 Hilux 3.0L auto 4x4 last year, and the previous owner had a long range tank installed and now holds 160l diesel total. I know that because of this the computer does not properly display the total remaining range anymore, but is the mileage reading (km/l) from the computer also affected by the new long range tank?
For anyone considering a plastic tank instead of a steel one, here are the facts. The plastic will not break, crack, rust, and it will hold fuel. BUT plastic tanks do NOT have baffles. Deal breaker right there. You do not want 80 or 90 litres of fuel sloshing around - not in a longitudinal tank like in the dual cabs, and not in an east-west tank like a Patrol. Steel is the only solution to go for.
145 LITRE POLY REPLACEMENT LONG RANGE FUEL TANK - PT-TH15R1 Longitudinal and lateral baffling system to prevent fuel slosh and to strengthen tank structure
@@timofalltrades400 Good to know. My source for the no baffle information was Brown Davis themselves at a show a few years ago. Clearly they have since developed a way to baffle the injection moulded tanks. That would change my recommendation against poly tanks.
100% upset that Brown Davis no longer make one 120 litres tank for 1996 Pajero SWB 3.0 V6 60 litres not enough for long-range, bloody 20 litres jerry cans carry always. I love pajero because I'm a short man.
