Brown Davis Website Material
Whether its heavy towing or long distance traveling a Toyota Landcruiser 200 Series fitted with a Brown Davis 180 litre rear replacement fuel tank is unbeatable. When off-road or towing 3.5 ton fuel consumption can suddenly become a problem. Go on your longest journeys with confidence with 273 litres total capacity.
The Brown Davis 200 Series 180 litre long range fuel tank is constructed from 2mm aluminium coated cold rolled steel, to ensure maximum strength and durability. This gauge of steel is sufficiently resistant to impact damage that additional tank guards are not necessary. The aluminium coating on the specific steel used by Brown Davis, offers the best of both worlds with the strength of steel and the anti corrosion properties of aluminium.

Nice video, I literally had to pull mine out today and beef it up as it has copped a flogging on the tracks and split the welds, be careful if offroading 😬😬

Hi. I have recently installed the same tank in my LC200. I have a couple of questions I was hoping you could help me with: 1. My guy did not flush the tank before installing. How do we check the magnet cap to see if it caught any metal deposits. Do you have to take the tank out to do this and does it have to be done on an empty tank? 2. My guy attached a long air mix pipe to the valve that’s on the side of the passenger side tire by the hood. The other side of that pipe sticks out in the hood. Is this conventional way of doing this? I was told this is done because higher air pressure needed for large tank. I would appreciate your thoughts.

Where can I get the spare tire carrier underneath? Can't seem to find the darn thing. I have the 2008 Dubai variant and the spare wheel on the back is such a pain.

What about exceeding GVM with this and all the other gear you guys fit. Do you ever weigh these vehicles?
@SignatureCamperTrailers
@SignatureCamperTrailers 2 года назад
Its something we are aware of and keep in mind. There are 2 things we've done to make sure we are always under GVM. Firstly we got a GVM Upgrade on the car when we took delivery. Secondly we tow a Camper - this allows us to get some of the weight out of the Car and into the Camper. Properly packed it means neither car, camper or tow ball are over loaded! (I reckon we'd be well over if we didn't move some of our Gear into the Camper Trailer).

why not use ARB's TAD108? plastic is stronger and lighter.
@SignatureCamperTrailers
@SignatureCamperTrailers 2 года назад
There are varying thoughts and opinions about that… the ARB tank is awesome but also more expensive. We like the design and durability of the Brown Davis tank.

Ask Matt from Explore Life how good the steel tanks are, split his going to Kalumburu

@@scottspitty8283 mechanical things will inevitably fail on occasion - it's how the manufacturer responds and the overall design. Steel tanks have been around a long time and for every failure there are thousands of success stories. If we were to immediately discount a product due to an issue we find online we'd never buy anything!

Didnt appear very durable when old mate was in the dirt for 4 hours trying to plug the crack, that was after losing the fuel. Warranty is all well and good but when your in the middle of nowhere its means nothing. ARB Frontier tank is durable.
@SignatureCamperTrailers
@SignatureCamperTrailers 2 года назад
@@scottspitty8283 The ARB Frontier tank is also a very good tank - also with failures. We aren't saying one is better than the other - pick the one which suits you. From experience repairing a cracked steel tank is far easier than repairing a cracked Poly Tank. One person on RU-vid who has had a failure doesn't immediately mean a product is no good.
