What a lovely little rat family, mommy and her about 2 month old pups enjoying an outing to forage. They look healthy although they could be a bit plumper (at the time of the video; by now they're long gone). City rats are normally a bit less healthy looking sadly.

I really loved watching them, but I had to wait a very long time before they came out of the scrubs or bushes again. They were absolutely shy. At least they gave me a few seconds to record them. I think that because of their very cautious behaviour not many people might notice them. Interesting that you can tell them apart. I could not. Thank you. This is an area in the park where people feed birds, and those rats were foraging for what has been left over. Have a nice weekend.

Rats are very cute . I dont understand why they have such a bad press. A human bite is far worse. They are timid animals.

No one's bite is "worse". What spred illnesses is an unclean enviroment and if the person/creature themselves are not cleaning themselves. Some humans indeed forgot some vital parts of keeping yourself clean and rats if they have the right enviroments are very clean and healthy animals.
