To comment from the sporting side, most clay shooters who did independent testing with a variety of the DS chokes had a similar result as you. The only thing that all testers seem to agree on is that the DS FULL choke is the only DS choke that seems to work well. The others (Skeet - Improved Modified) had poor/inconsistent patterning. Many clay shooters have ditched the DS chokes because of what appears to be poor performance across the board. Thanks for sharing your results.
Thanks for doing this Glenn. I have many questions about patterning as I have just bought a Browning shotgun for Sporting clays. I'll make sure I pattern mine and create a video as soon as the weather breaks. Thumbs up.
I just can't wait to get my hands on a new A5 16 Ga. 16 ga patterns 1 oz loads better than anything I've seen with my own two eyes. For the past few decades the only Browning 16 ga, has produced is the BPS. 16ga BPS unlike the others uses the original Invector tubes and the other BPS models use Invector Plus.
Are you comparing apples to apples. Benelli's SBE-2 is the comparable gun to the New A5. The SBE-2's crio barrels and chokes pattern very well at long distances. You should have compared your OLD Auto 5 to the SBE1........
