TL;DW: Save money and buy a non ported carlson cremator set (1/3 the price of a muller set), as the difference between the two is not enough difference to make a difference.
The Muller Passing measures .025 or Improved Mod vs Carlson mid-range is .015 or Light Mod. The Muller UFO is .040 vs Carlson long-range which is .025 or Improved Mod. So, your results make sense based on their respective measurements. In reality, the Muller Passing is equivalent to the Carlson Long Range. BTW, Muller is pronounced like Lull not Mule 🙂. Cool video. I can tell you don't fall for the muller hype like I did. I just sent my passing choke back because it was the worst patterning choke I've ever screwed into my SBE1. I have a custom barrel done by Rob roberts back in 2000 when he worked at angle-port. The forcing cone was lengthened and fitted with a .720 ported choke which I have shot now since. Point being it is very forgiving with about any load you want to run thru it so it's not my peticular gum that was the problem. I ran 7 different loads thru it and shot each load 3x even ordered the remington,and kent 1 3/8 loads he recommended and they were the worst most un-uniform patterns I've ever had out of any gun I've ever owned. I put my old angle port choke in and compared it side by side and it was a blowout..hell my factory benelli IC choke beat the brakes off the muller passing..It doesn't take too long searching the internet to find people with my same results,and also on youtube..and Jimmy deletes any un-flattering replies on his Facebook posts and mysteriously turns off commenting on his youtube channel🤔 Does he know what he's talking about? He certainly does,and he's a smart man..Smart enough to know his marketing game..but like I said do some research of your own. Type in muller chokes problems..most of the good reviews are from influencers being paid or on mullers incentive program,which I was on as well..not anymore. I'm embarrassed I recommended them. Even had a friend that guides in Canada buy one thru me and shot it one day and took it out of his gun and is returning it as well..I just wonder how many tubes get returned in a year? 🤔 in closing I do have to give credit to him for his lead choke only tubes I purchased a U1-and U2 tube for my benelli 20ga. For my upland hunts and kept both. They both pattern good..edging out my briley IC,and LM ever so slightly,but they did. Enough to make a difference? Not really but I'm shooting them now in the field to finish my research. Don't take my word on my research like I said do a collective search of other people's same results with the waterfowl chokes before you decide.
The muller was better for me too, but it wasnt enough difference over a carlson cremator to justify being 2/3 more expensive. That and at 20yd and in, no matter what muller you use, the pattern is too tight for hunting, unless you like peppered birds. Only exception is turkey hunting. The UFO with BOSS Tom shells held an outstandingly tight pattern out to a lazered 107 yards.
@@robbiehottot1357I dont shoot steel after witnessing firsthand how terrible it is on game. After my first duck season (in which I shot steel) I gave away all my steel loads and bought a case of bismuth.
If you are going to use the choke, is it not wise to know how it patterns close, medium, and far? So that way you can be prepared for any shot opportunity that presents itself. But hey, thanks for feeding the algorithm.
First of all, you’re using the wrong set of choke tubes for dove hunting from Muller. If you would call them, they tell you point-blank use the feather lite series of choke tubes to Dovehunt with.
