A lovely place. I did a nature study there many years ago and the most impressive were the fantastic dragonflies in many different colours.They were like jewels on the sun.The rubbish is just brushwood & the quarry might be the remains of the old clay pits or excavation for a new pond.

I really enjoy these solo explores and this being an extra-long video is fantastic. This place looks like a nice day out for a chilled-out stroll around checking out the animals and woodland.

I was in the Scouts . They Generally held meetings in space donated by Churches . We were exploring the Church and found this hidden door . It took you from the front to the back quietly and quickly . We came into the Balcony from the Steeple and set off a Motion Silent Alarm . We were back with the Scout Troop in no time . Lol

You should have taken a closer look at those Huge Stumps you passed Matt . I live near Cathedral Grove Vancouver Island . Really Old Huge Trees . I Respect these Gems . From the California Redwoods , Sequois , Cypress , Spruce and Douglas For . Up and Down our Alaska , British Columbia , Washington , Oregon and California . We have some Old Huge Trees . Come Visit . There are some Individual Named Trees you have to hike too . Nothing to Crazy .

Excellent video Matt, thanks for posting. I love Brownsea, it’s local to me & I’ve made that voyage many times 😀 Done a few overnighters there: hiding the sib & motor in the undergrowth & running from that red landrover on it’s night patrols. I’ve never seen those capped shafts you stumbled upon in the nature reserve before, I remember seeing pits marked on on old OS map but thought they were more in the central region & never managed to find them. I’d be very interested in the condition of the shafts & caps - please message me if you had a peek off camera. Furzey has always taken my interest but I’ve never had the guts to land there. Yet…

It wouldn’t hurt to try! It’s owned by Perenco now, they might be keen for a film crew to show off their diverse wildlife on the island after the Ower Bay leak. I’d be keen to tag along in my boat if you’re up for it! Not sure if you’ve aware, there’s a slip with free on-road parking in Hamworthy, near Lake yard. It’s a bit further in the boat than Baiter, but that’s never a bad thing 😉
