The A-10 Warthog is basically a gun with a plane attached. It is a ground support plane and that's what it should be used for.

This is the video that got me into Arma 3. I looked for more videos and fell in love. I've since bought all the DLC and set up my controllers for flight only. I wish I could afford the Logitech flight stick you use, but that will have to wait. I got tired of playing through the old Battlefield and Call of Duty campaigns. I had the difficulties maxed every time and even with Battlefield 3 and 4 where I didn't have the campaigns memorized I still breezed through everything. I found myself using ridiculous weapon combos just for a challenge. Like the shotgun and pistol even on long range engagements. I needed a better challenge. Arma 3 has delivered for sure. Large Scale dynamic campaigns and much more realistic fighting. Wish I had found this game sooner.

I love the vids Drewski! Since I have such a crappy laptop I cant play my favorite game (Arma 3) and your vids put just enough A3 to keep me satisfied.

I don't know if someone told you but to lock on to lasers you have to select the gbu (mini nukes) then press R or T (it changes between drones and planes) while scanning lazed area from quite a ways out at a high altitude. once the symbol is solid white, drop the bomb.

Your videos are good stuff! I wish I could run Arma well enough to fly. That'd be the most fun thing to do in the game.

Use the laser with the gbu's you lock the lase with a square then once the secondary square making the diamond it means drop the bomb and it will guide it in

Personally I love a10 warthogs because I live near moody air force base so I get to see them fly over all the time and sometimes they let me and my dad into the bombing range and we can watch them practice.

Oh man, that was some painful target locking at the beginning. You realize pressing 2 on your keyboard will list everything you can lock, and let you select them individually, yeah? Just keep a numpad by your joysticks.

the 30mm in the a10 is about 7 foot long and that is what stalls the aircraft and makes that sound when it shoots due to the length of the barrel

Hey, let me give you some insight into how ARMA's engine works. First off, lowering your settings will put more stress on the CPU, just keep that in mind. Arma is no where near optimized, the game is for the most part, running 99% on 1 core. Which is the most crummy thing ever, you can do some command lines to try to change this up abit, but really it does not do too much in the long run. I would spend a lot of time just doing everything you can till you find a sweetspot for your computer. Lowering your settings as mentioned before, will put more work onto the CPU, but in arma's case it will mean more work for the single core that arma uses, which means worse frames. I had this issue, i am running on a AMD FX 8320 with a 780, and I was getting the worst FPS ever on the low settings, changed it to basically maxed out, and suddenly got 60 outside of towns and 40 inside towns. With more tweaking I am sure I can get that better.

Im assuming you are better at this poin(months later)t, but decent flying. Not great, but better than most. Also the a-10 is a CAS beast and is well renowned for its danger close capabilities. Granted you need ground troops who are capable of carrying a smoke grenade or laser designating. So it sucks that you would be relagated to fly around in circles, when you could be so useful. Great videos though and you earned yourself a subscriber.

I think you can lock the GBU's onto the laser designated targets if im not mistaken. but you may know already by now ;p

Solid flying work. How do you like that joystick? I have one of the generic Logitech ones, can't use it for jets without adjusting it. Haven't gotten around to that yet, so I primarily pilot helicopters.

don't worry about frames I have 1738 hours in Arma and get 9-14fps if im lucky I can get 21

Any1 can help me? I cant see the squares and "diamonds" when trying to find any targets.. Like Drewski just saw them from 2km cuz of square which literally asked him to lock on, and i have to search everything by my eyes.. (Yes i have radar on)

I Never used the radar back when I played stratis wasteland, never payed much attention to the HUD, only used line of sight but easily got more kills than anybody after 4 hours of dominating the other team left the server like a baseball stadium playing a puppet show xD

Running an MSI Gaming 7 Motherboard, 512 GB M.2 850 Evo SSD, i7 4790k @ 4.5 GHz w/ Corsair H100i AIO liquid cooler, 16GB Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR3 1866 MHz RAM, and two Diamond HD 7970 GPU's in crossfire in the Corsair Obsidian 800D case. Will be upgrading to the GTX 1080Ti FTW in a few months, as well as a 512GB 960 pro M.2 SSD. As is my machine runs like a champ, but cant wait to see how it will perform with the new gear. I can already run any game at max settings and get around 200 fps, thats why I am waiting to upgrade the GPU in the hopes that the price will drop a bit. Mainly I want to get the single 1080Ti because it will run cooler and use less power with equal/better performance to the 7970's in crossfire. Love the 7970 gpu's but have had them for almost 6 years now... it is time. Let me know what you think.

yeah I have an i7-6700 (non-k) but I figured out how to overclock it, and I will definitely say this game relays on CPU more than GPU.

What is your setuop on your PC? You are running it so smooth, I have a 390x and i5-4670k and my computer still struggles... Also do you use a joystick while piloting? Can you recommend one?

So, do you know how to pick up lased targets now? :P Not too great of a flyer here, but when selecting GBUs you can only lock onto lased targets, possibly? :P

I'm new to the pilot stuff and wanted to get a joy stick do I also need the petals for it to work or can I just use the stick?
