Why do people dislike this Dead Master? T~T To me this version made her seem more sophisticated and deadly, I liked that. And I love the colour green. *-* The only thing I would've liked to keep would've been the black hair. Everything else I'm pretty much ok with.
Coralee Annibal RIGHT! idk i love this version of her since there's much more details and colors. I love this BRS too, her outfit suits her much more. don't get me wrong the original BRS & Dead Master are good, but the colors makes everything better. I can understand the glasses part since it makes her a little old lady-ish, but shes gotta resemble yomi somewhat lol
I really love how the 2012 anime basically went the route of a 'Bad Ending' when they did this story of Mato saving Yomi. It all worked out good in the OVA meanwhile here, the horrible timing only served to doom BRS and Mato
Dead Master in the OVA was the main villain so she cooked cool and more intimidating because of that role. But in the 2012, she isn't a villain and is more sympathetic, so the design change compliments that by making her look gentler.
It is a head above Unlimited Budget Works. While Ufotable were cowardly hiding their CGI behind the tons of rotoscoping just like an ugly girl hides her natural unattractiveness behind layers of cosmetics, Sanzigen were flexing their chopped CGI sequences to the point when they are similar to hand-drawn stop-motion animation from InuCurry. THIS anime should be called Unlimited Budget Works, not that Kinoko Nasu's fanfiction. I'd like to call it Budget Rock Shooter.
That moment at 7:30 i love flame themed things like this! This is so epic, BRS the most badass and well designed female char i've ever seen. I would love s2, but it can't be i think :/ Soooo sad...
They will not make a season 2 bc the only thing they could use is the manga bc it plays in the past of brs so just read it if you want more :) its an completly different story and even more confusing :P
@@Kcabs10 its more like what happend before, but also not like the typical continue bc there is a connection but its doesnt rly has smth to do with the anime. The manga is called "Black Rock Shooter innocent soul. Also when u r interested in season 2 there is smth bc some time ago they said they will make another anime with brs, like always in the brs collection its not rly a season 2 (i know that for sure bc i already have the first chapters of the light novel, but its not translated so i have to wait, but i looked at it and u can see its with brs but like always a different story with probably again a hidden connection to the other storys ^^
I really don't like the "new dead master". The old skinny tall one was pretty cool character. I mean I know that one is still unrelated to the one in the manga. But she still had the badass personality trait. And it seems this "new" one doesn't.
The reason she dies is because her Yomi is is in her(kinda like in the OVA). the "Other selfs" are basically a product of a young girls pain, so as long as their human counterpart exist they dont die. But if their human counterpart dies the Other will too.
Also ima thow one more thing.... Well more like a couple. Deadmaster in the movie(and manga) was amazing at close combat. I also don't remember having a retractable scythe. She also hade metal type skeleton looking hands that were claws......... Well enough ranting....... Obviously the old Dead master was my favorite character.
This anime was ahead of its time, and still is ahead of its time ten years later. Some neophyte anime director should capture this style for their works.
that's for those of you that like the old generation. This is a more modernized version and there are those that really do favor this version better. Though i'll have to admit..for me..it's partly because of the glasses she wears now. So hot..
I wish upon a good fanfiction writer..... that they make a good BRS X RWBY crossover where 4 characters from BRS, preferably Black Rock Shooter herself Black Gold Saw Dead Master and Strength go to Beacon
I can’t say I’m fond of this Dead Master design. The less frilly and embellished design from the OVA cut a more imposing presence. It looks more girly with the added colour and skirt and it just works against the aesthetic.
That's because Dead Master in the OVA was supposed to be the sole villain, so she had to look the part. In the TV anime, Dead Master's characterisation is different, and a more sympathetic Otherself that isn't the antagonist. Like Yomi, she's characterised as maybe 'a lonely princess' or something, so making her look threatening just doesn't make sense for this story.
I hope they can make an anime like this, has intense fight scenes and powerful female protagonist but more detailed story. I am actually bit disappointed in Black Rock Shooter, they have a great animation tbh but they can't make the story more detailed, I can't really understand the flow of the story.
Are you thinking of the OVA Dead Master? She did look bad ass but it's separate from the series. The animation in the OVA is a bit different from the anime.
I think it would have been better if it were only the fight scenes of BRS and Dead Master. I mean, I know the parts with Mato are necessary to know that story behind it all, but I don't really like being put at the edge of my seat. o-o

love the anime... but the mato story is cofunsing still love the anime, BRS (character) is on my favorite top 10 in Anime gir warrior still mato plot was not that big of the deal, if they had made a full 12 episode of black rock shooter i would love it
