Bowen did a really good job defensively on Kobe in this game, though Kobe still made some tough shots over him. The Spurs made a big run without Bowen on the court, so he didn't play in the 4th quarter

Yup I’m a laker fan from Los Angeles and this was the best lakers spurs game ever. Too bad it didn’t lead to a championship. I really thought this series was the finals. Bowen couldn’t keep up with Kobe anymore by 2008 lol. Kobe was hitting Every shot with Bowen hand in his face. I always rooted for the spurs when the Lakers were out of contention. Gotta support the western conference! The east had it so easy. Plus I like defense, so I rooted for the spurs over phoenix. Duncan played amazing in that series. And I was totally shocked when the elderly spurs dismantled the heat in 2014. And who can forget Za za pa cheap shot. The Lakers spurs rivalry was the best basketball of that decade 99-2009. I always wonder if the 99 spurs or the 2000 Lakers could beat the bulls
What made Bowen so good on defense is his foot movement. I watched Bruce Bowen ever since he got traded to the Spurs. His footwork and he contested every shot. He didnt just watch you shoot it. He guarded you and jumped up to try to block the shot or he would block it
very good defender, but sometimes also very dirty. he injured plenty of guys by intentionally putting his foot underneath them, not mentioning the karate kick on Wally Szerbiak
