The 959 was a spaceship when it came out in the mid eighties. I was fortunate enough to be on a plant tour of Zuffenhausen in the spring of ‘86 and saw them getting built!
Thank you Bruce Canepa for helping bring these engineering living works or art to the street. Hope to see you and your 959 at the next rennsport! To porsche: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP THE DAMN MUSIC!!! EVERYONE IS HERE FOR THE GORGEOUS MUSIC OF YOUR ENGINES NOT YOUR BS GUITARS!!! IF WE WANT GUITARS WE'D GO TO AN AEROSMITH CONCERT!!! Ps love the videos aside from that and keep up the amazing work.
The poster I had on my my wall as a teenager was a silver 959. I've still not seen a car that can compete with the combination of performance, engineeering and design. Great video of a great car. Perfection!
Bruce Canepa is the man not only is he a Porsche specialist with building cars,he has to be my favorite race car driver out of any other.Just a guy I happen to admire.
So Bruce has number 001 959..! His collection is INCREDIBLE. Go check it out in Scotts Valley CA. I used to work at Seagate Technologies just down the road.
And to those who still think the 959 was overshadowed by the F40, that happened only in 1987 and just for high speed. About the rest, the 959 is absolutely decades ahead of the F40 and even cars built after it. No one could deny tight now that the 959 is still nowadays a tour de force and the true father of all modern super and hyper cars, even the mentor of the modern complex AWD systems and computer assisted driving controls.
Omg.. I want to just be in the same room as a 959. The ultimate drivers car, so much class. How manu rich guys will be buried in a 959? If I ever am somehow able to afford one, I would take her out every day and drive it like I stole it. I do love my 987.1 2.7L cayman 😊
could have really done without the stupid background music. i would expect that with some stupid tv show, but Porsche? you're better than that Porsche. also, Bruce Canepa is a legend.
