Hmm. Well that was a bit cringe. Does he realize like 75% of his real fanbase are probably stoners? Plus he's in California. When I saw Rush in Vancouver Geddy specifically joked about how good it smelled in the arena and they visibly embraced the fact that they have a huge stoner fanbase.

Don't speak for "everyone" on that, man. Personally it's not so much of the smell as it is the smoke. I get you're trying to have a good time and shit, but I'm not trying to breathe in your smoke and I'm trying to enjoy the concert too. On top of that, concert venues are always gonna sell alcohol, so people are gonna be hammered at concerts. Adding the smell of skunk on top of the smell of drunks doesn't help much. Well on the NUMBER OF THE BEAST tour Bruce explained that even though they had no money, they had an abundance of free drug's, Bruce may of not took any, but the rest did. As explained in the REVOLVER magazine.
@@fogzax Very true. I don't smoke skunk anymore and haven't for awhile, if i can get abit of decent hash I'll smoke that. But i found since not smoking how much it really does stink, i guess it's where the term skunk came from, especially that cheese stuff. So i kinda get what he's saying, but there's no way him or the band would get high from the crowed smoking it, just too open, he'll smell the terps but in such a large area the thc wouldn't be enough unless your hotboxing. But that's obviously just my opinion, not scientific fact. Tbh knowing Bruce it was something to rant about as he's a keep fit freak, but then why not say anything about people smoking cigarettes that actually kill people. But then I've never liked Bruce, so there's that lol..
Bruce seems to have turned into 90’s Axl Rose atm. He even went off on someone with a flare in the crowd at a show in Greece, literally shouted “you Greek cunt”, can’t really say that, he might not have even been Greek
Who's that guy to demand everyone stop smoking? He is in open air stadium and has not the right to order! We are not tin soldiers! It looks Bruce is too old and became too strange. I suggest him to retire, sit on his armchair and enjoy a cup of English tea. The good moments he gave us are too much, there's no need to turn everything to black page. We all are people with different personalities and you ought to appreciate our money we give you. Land off, you are not God. You should check your problem.
Bruce Dickinson knows drugs and alcohol 10 million times more and better than you. A band like Iron Maiden or Rolling Stone doesn't reach that longevity by taking drugs. Although I consider that marijuana does not have REAL harmful effects, I also understand that they are big (old) people who need a clean environment to be able to give their best, since they are not 20 or 30 years old. They are not indestructible, they are human.
He did the same with a flare a few months ago, he is full of shit. Bruce is struggling vocally and is using smoke as a way to cope with that, is not his age of refusal to stop running around, is the smoke, even when they use smoke machines and fireworks. The guy was always a diva, but maiden fanboys refused to acknowledge it, is just that now that diva behavior is leaking into the show.
@@evil_chuck Bruce and maiden in general had always been considered on the lamest side of metal when it came to partying hard. And no, they are not like rolling stones at all, RS were always into heavy drugs.
I appreciate Iron maiden taking a stand. Weed is a drug and not everyone likes it. Nice to see artist break the drug culture stereotype. He didn't stay quit smoking just stop blowing in there face so they do there job. That includes all the staff at the stadium that may feel the same way and have no voice.
@@bekindandyouwillgofar8717 No. I said that it's a Metal concert and it's part of the territory. The Metal concert experience includes some mayhem. @@MaroonieBean Completely understandable, but majority of the smoke that fills indoor arenas comes from pyrotechnics. I love Maiden and always will, but it feels kind of hypocritical to yell at fans while he uses a flamethrower on stage.
it’s only a good reason if that’s really the issue, it’s clearly not as he has no issue with cigarette smokers nor the pyrotechnics. If you want to blindly worship a human being go ahead
Gotta respect them. They play so tight at their age and they had there share of partying. There are all about the performance and music and giving the fans everything they have and all they ask is for us to not blow smoke in their faces, simple request, they deserve to be respected
I don't know...seems like kind of a dick move Bruce. This guy might have been the biggest Iron Maiden fan in the world but after this I'm not so sure he would continue to be. Dickenson didn't have to call the guy out, embarrass him, insult him, exclude him all because this person chooses to smoke a little weed which most people who know a thing or two consider to be on par with having a couple beers. So he doesn't personally smoke weed for whatever reason, it's just really not cool to do this to a fan. This definitely lowers my opinion of a guy who I've long respected and considered one of the great metal vocalists.
Some people have compared this to people getting drunk at shows, saying they're equally problematic: "always tumbling, screaming, puking, fighting..." I agree that drunks at gigs are a nuisance. However, weed smokers are annoying too - not through their behaviour while high but because they're forcing everybody around them to inhale their weed smoke (this is worse for indoor gigs). Others might hate the smell. They might hate the feeling, and really not want to get secondhand high because it gives them anxiety which could ruin the show. This goes double for the band themselves, who are trying to work. When they say your (i.e. the crowd members') behaviour is making them uncomfortable or making it harder to give a good performance, the respectful thing to do is stop whatever you're doing ASAP. *tldr;* irresponsible drunks and irresponsible stoners are both a nuisance, but for different reasons. Smoke it out of the way where you're not forcing others to breathe it in too.
I get this, I wouldn't want someone blowing cigarette smoke in my face or pouring alcohol on me, just like I don't want to have pot blown in my face while I'm at a concert.

I think it's so disrespectful, having a pop at his fans the way he does. He'd be better off, continuing with the concert. People have paid a lot of money to see them and don't want to hear 3 and a half minutes of Bruce moaning!!!!
@@apolloniusbeitsman5444 Oh yeah. When IM started out long ago, those who got into them were pure stoners and drunks. Just like with other metal bands.
