Bruce Hawthorne is most certainly one of the best examples of Christ. I listened to tapes of his preaching when I was a kid and those messages gave me a lot of encouragement. Years later, my family had a terrible tragedy and the Hawthorn family was right there for us! Sue wrote me letters when I was living far from the US mainland to let me know she prayed for me daily. Bruce walked with God down here on Earth and now he walks with Him on streets of gold in Heaven! Praise God for these Holy Spirit filled sermons!
I vividly remember him telling me about the Bible saying at the end time there would be earthquakes in diver’s places - meaning under water where people would dive! About as wrong as it gets. It is diverse places! Another jem was when his mother would yell from downstairs (we slept on second floor) and she would ask if we were up yet. He answered “Yes (muttering softly) up off the floor.” I have found it amazing to discover he became a preacher. Personally I have studied scriptures since the mid 60s and have learned that for the most part all these churches are wrong! Imagine if you will a God who offers salvation and gives us many hundreds of different Churches - each one professing to be the truth. Yet, no common ground among them. All teaching their variety of truth with each one teaching different doctrines. No one doctrine is ever agreed upon by them all. Is God the author of confusion? Yes - IF those churches are His. Truth is if any one of them is right all the rest are therefore WRONG! Not one doctrine is universally believed. They are all wrong.

There was a horrible tragedy that I went through several years ago. My whole world instantly collapsed beyond repair without any hope in sight. Thank God, the Hawthorn family stood with my family and it wasn't for selfish gain nor vain glory. In fact, they never got any money or fame from helping us while they themselves maintained their faith in spite of endless losses and crosses. You see, God sent Bruce as our miracle when we needed it the most. Now some would accuse the Hawthorn family, namely Rev Hawthorn, of being selfish or worldly. May God have mercy on the souls of anyone who would dare persecute these saints!!! Please know, dear reader, that the Hawthorns did so much more than most of my biological family did to help during our day of calamity and it was NOT because they have greedy intentions. On the contrary, they have the Holy Spirit. Someone his accusers haven't yet been acquainted with. His sister Sue was like a grandmother to us and she encouraged my faith in Jesus. Bruce helped my family and never asked us for repayment or recognition. Does that sound like a greedy preacher to you? I don't think so. If the many kind things Bruce did in secret were published for all the world to see on google or RU-vid, I suppose there'd be new light on his sanctified character, Lord knows. Unfortunately, the world isn't interested in hearing about the innumerable times in Pastor Bruce's ministry when The Kingdom of Christ got so many new victories. You also won't hear about: the countless alcoholics he invited into the Alcoholic's Mission in Akron, Ohio nor how many of them cleaned up their lives and gave their hearts to Jesus. You won't read on google the names of those who left their bondage to hopeless addictions to follow the way of righteousness because a preacher boy named Bruce went out into the alleys and abandoned slums to find lost souls to reach for Christ's sake. But I am assured of this one thing, God knows all about each of those souls that were converted. You won't read that on google. There won't be whispers about it in so-called "church circles" either. But Heaven rejoices even now over each and every blessed hardship that led to those salvations at Bruce's Mission in Akron. I can just picture the Lord leaning in and saying, "tell me again Bruce. I love the way that sermon about the pilot ends. I never get tired of hearing it." Same as always, the world can't be bothered with such stories. Only the ones that slaughter a person's reputation will be passed on to the next person. Most certainly, the world rejects men of great faith like Rev Hawthorne and those who walk this old narrow way. Yet, it does so delight the carnal nature within a divider of the brethren to pass on baseless gossip. That prevents souls from hearing the gospel. Oh how their wicked mouths crave the taste of gossip. Especially if that morsel of savory gossip happens to be about a Holy Spirit led man of God. Just look how they accused Jesus and continue to do so (up to this very hour.) or how Cain slandered then killed his holy brother Abel. I know Bruce is having a blast with Jesus in Heaven. I just hope people will soon leave his memory in peace. Even after a man of God leaves this world, Hell's hounds will bark and growl about the departed. That's sure proof he made the devil mad by preaching holiness and by doing it very well. If you are thinking of adding anything that would discourage others from hearing the gospel, do make sure to know that Jesus knows what you are doing and He will judge righteously. Just try not to keep on offending the children of God because He has a millstone to tie around the necks of such slanderers. Your Bible says that. Try reading God's Word if you must read something. Stop wasting your time with idle gossip and character assassination. Truth Be Told, God hates slander. Bruce, a wonderful Saint of God, lived a blameless life of humble servanthood and was ruthlessly sabotaged by his double-crossing friends. The betrayal was met with nothing but forgiveness from Bruce who chose to leave room for the judgement of God rather than defend himself in the sight of man. It will not be good for those men who plotted his ruin on the day of judgement unless those wicked men repent...Truth Be Told, if you spend a little less time reading gossip on google and more time reading the Bible, you just might make it into Heaven with Bruce.
