Bruce was the best KISS guitarist because he played for the team. For the song.Not flash,tho he was able. 80s early 90s non makeup KISS ( Paul,Gene,Bruce and Eric Carr) was my KISS. Bruce and Paul Paul Chapman in UFO were always in the same boat in my opinion. Coming in after legends. Although only Schenker imo deserves his status. Chapman also was a more than capable of flash player who played for the team/song.
That was pretty damn tight. Ace is my favorite, but truth be told, Bruce was the best replacement Kiss had. Technically, he is superior to Ace, but Ace’s playing just has more mojo/personality to it to me. Bruce though is a monster, and carried Kiss guitarwise through a long stretch and his solos were always melodic and fiery. Good bar usage but not overkill with it. Double kudos to him for not parading in Ace makeup. Bruce was his OWN man, and he does have his own style. Vinnie Vincent was so wrong for Kiss. Bruce “got” what they needed: bluesy Zep riffs mixed in with the latest guitar tricks to keep up with the other shredders of the day. I hope Bruce is very happy in GFR.
Hi Mitchell, I believe he was using Marshall amps. Also, just for the record, he didn't bring anything with him for this clinic. Everything was from Chuck Levin's.
