I can remember where I was the day he died and I didn't know what his influence meant then now I do he was a leader not a follower

I had a similar experience. I was 14 in 1973 and was already hooked on the Kung Fu TV series with David Carradine. (Still one of the best TV shows every made, IMO, the first season was absolutely brilliant). So I thought I would check out this Enter The Dragon movie that was showing downtown. I was blown away! I immediately went out and bought the soundtrack album. Then I commisioned an artistic friend to draw a flourescent dragon on my bedroom wall. It looked magnificent. After that I went back to the theater alone and watched the movie 2 more times. It was about 2 weeks after I watched the movie the first time I think, that I heard the news that Bruce had died. Just utter disbelief and shock. I signed up for Karate classes soon after ( couldn't find any Kung Fu teachers) and practiced it for about a year. And when the Chinese Connection and Fists of Fury came to town, I ran out and watched them a couple of times as well. But there was always that sinking feeling that we would never see more of this amazing martial artist and personality. The things he could have done, with more time. Anyway, he was a big part of my youth and probably shaped who I am today in his own way. Thanks Bruce and RIP.
