Bruce has passed on so long and the praises this young master still have is amazing...he only have a few serious martial arts movies and they still left a trade mark that will last a lifetime.
I think Jim Kelly clarified everything when he said Bruce was a step above everybody. That he was even greater than being the Michael Jordan of martial arts. I think Jim Kelly clears things up. Bruce was the best ever.
Bruce Lee was true to himself and martial arts. He used the essentials of every style of fighting that was effective and cut out anything that served no useful purpose to be balanced in mind and body.
just like Muhammad Ali Bruce Lee trancended his sport, both of a different level to normal sports people both supremely gifted spiritual warriors, timeless icons ..
Ye but thing is Muhammad Ali was a real boxers and Bruce Lee was not an mma fighter or any pro fighter. Dont compare Bruce to one of the famous people on earth that is Ali. Ali was the greatest heavyweight boxer of all time and a culturel icon, who fought for peace and antiracism, and bruce lee was an actor who was a martial artistest and who was not well known when he was alive.I love bruce lee becuse of he's movies and he's appearance but dont compare him to Ali.
@@golf2657 but wether you know or not that is who Bruce got his boxing from.. he attended all of Ali fights and went to all dojo's trying his style...he was serious.. The shuffle against Chuck is from Ali duhhh.
@Golf 2 DO more research, Bruce was real deal. He didn't trained for tournaments, it's how to survive streets. There is a reason why TOURNAMENT fighters went to go trained with Bruce. They couldn't beat Bruce
Exactly, Floyd sr. And the people he was with there, realize that Bruce respected and trained in boxing. The way he fought in the movies was for entertainment, but his mentality for real fighting, and also he trained offscreen, he was preparing for legitimate combat, not just entertainment flashy stuff. He knew real combat wasn’t going to be flashy like that, so it annoys me when people say he was just an actor. He boxed and trained boxing etc and obviously hit the bag and mitts often.
Just because a lot of Asians are racist against his son because of Pacquiao, doesn't mean they are racist against them. Great fighters respect great fighters.
rloco80 Trash talk before the fight. Smart move. Asian Pac fans hated him already way before that and where way racist towards him. So he just went for the gusto to take their money. I would have too. Why kiss a haters ass? Piss them off, take their money. LMAO!
In a street fight JKD has all the elements to beat your opponent, Bruce Lee perfected it through real fight sparring with Dan Inosanto, it's an art form that evolved and continues to change, flexible like water.
There are several witnesses who say that Lee 'invited' fights because he looked cocky. For example, in Seattle he would go to places where Chinese weren't welcomed... once he went with a white girlfriend, and four idiots said some words. She convinced Bruce to cool down. Others say they saw him fight in bars, pool halls .. he went to these places sometimes just to test his skills -- and this was before JKD. Inosanto says he saw Bruce in real fights... with a huge road rager "Bruce just played with him." Once Bruce and a white friend went to a black pool hall, and again a fight broke out. Inosanto: "To Bruce, a fight was a great experience."
Bruce might have been a pretty good grappler but was not a superb grappler. He learned very quick and trained quite a lot of wrestling and Judo for many years before his death, but to say he could grapple with BJJ masters is untrue for even the best grapplers from that era couldn't grapple with the BJJ masters of today. Bruce Lee's stand up is another thing. His stand up is pretty much the best we've ever seen. The man was so ahead of his time, and was so incredibly physically and mentally gifted, there's never been another one like him, and I'm not sure if there ever will be.
+SKINNY BUDDHA BOY I noticed while Bruce lee was fighting Karem Abdul jabar his finished him with a head lock,,, but the grip lee used had me confused if he really knew how to grapple
Please knock off the hero worship. You have ZERO evidence Brice Lee cold grapple. It takes YEARS of dedicated training to master BJJ. A guy like Royce Gracie would have tapped out Bruce lee in the UFC inside of 90 seconds.
+Skinny Buddha Boy Ever hear of Masahiko Kimura? Kimura (1917-1993), judo 7th dan obtained at age 29, is undoubtedly the greatest Judoka to ever live. He stood 5’6″ (170 cm) tall and weighed 185 pounds (84kg). He demolished Helio Gracie back in the early 50's and was around in the 60's, though older. I would not say that he would be no match for the BBJ masters of today. Here's a little description of Kimura's training: "The secret to Kimura’s success is called San Bai Ro Rioku. Under this belief, Kimura did 300 pushups daily in High School, In his University, Taku-Shoku, the number increased to 500. After obtaining his first victory, Kimura decided to start doing 1000 non-stop pushups to ensure his future victories. However, pushups was just a small part of Kimum’s hard practices. During his prime, he practiced 4 times a day, at least 6 hours every day. He trained at Taku-Shoku University, Local Clubs, Kodokan, and Police Academies, Quite often he would practice against a tree, always at midnight. One instance, Wushi-Zima, a two time champion, was aroused by a commotion in the nearby woods. When he checked out the noise it turned out to be Kimura doing uchikomi against a tree. On another occasion when he observed Kimura’s strangely improvised uchikomi, Wushi-Zima asked 'Are you still trying to kill that tree?”'
if he didnt get knocked out first, the first UFCs were way different than today, you could hit to the groin, choke with you fingers, only 2 rules , there was not 1 striker on the level of bruce in ufc.
5:02 "He was 20 years old" 2:38 "He knew him for 16 years" - which one is it?Bruce's first demonstration in public was in "Seattle International Karate Championship" in 1964 when he was 24 years old.Bruce died at the age of 32.
I actually believe there was a conspiracy to kill Bruce Lee and along with his son Brandon. The one thing that the killers didn't can't on was making a martyr out of Bruce and his son. They eventually turn them into larger than life individuals. Bruce and Brandon, especially Bruce that they were both legends but now immortal. That's irony and tragic nonetheless.
He became more famous and legendary after his death. Imagine if muhammad ali died in his prime. He would be more famous than Bruce but Bruce is more famous and known world wide internationally by youngest kids in every country to oldest seniors. Everyone know Bruce Lee, everyone doesn't know muhammad ali or flyod.
Bruce was a simbol of China and politicaly speaking this was a concern for some. When i seen ''Showdown in Little Tokyo'' i expressed my fear that something will hapend to Brandon also and 2 years later he died,..... obviously shoot by accident.
Just watch Baki the Grappler guys. It's basically the Concept of Actual Fighting. Ufc still has rules and ect. Bruce probably though when fighting you have to bring all the weapons st the ready. Not trying to be all psychology and such but I bet the dude would throw a kick to the balls to even check you if you really serious. People would be like that's a cheap shot? But in a Real Fight no rules. Its probably the safest place to hit that will have easy dmg on contact.🤷♂️. Coming from a guy who's sparred and got accidently kicked in the balls with my cup I mind you🤣😱🙇♂️
Shaolin. Bruce Lee Roy 😆 WiltChamberlain Shaolin, Bruce "Little Phoenix" "Little Dragon" Lee and Wilt "Big Musty" Chamberlain all get denied their fantastic superhuman abilities. Shaolin monks still spar in training and their not just kicking air. For some reason some folks say shaolin monks don't fight and can't fight for real. Shaolin train for both extreme physical fitness and ability to not just defend themselves but to light 🌩 yerr ass UP! Bruce Lee, like shaolin Monks and like "Big Musty", was a superhuman. You put Lee Jun Fan in front of a MMA fighter.. his kicking speed could not be matched... his punching speed and accuracy could not be matched... his timing could not be matched.. his ability to adapt and have fighting creativity could not be matched.. "Big Musty", like "Little Dragon" & like Shaolin Monks, was far too physically in tuned and powerful to be considered anything less than the best. Arnold " Terminator" " Conan the Barbarian" " Mr. Olympia" Schwarzenegger has an interview stating how strong Wilt was. Chicago Bulls #1 Coach Phil Donahue 😆 Jackson 5 😆 talked in an interview of how strong Wilt was.. Phil says when Wilt went up to take a 🏀shot, Wilt would pick him up on the way up..that is how strong Wilt was. Check out video: By Andy Hoops The NBA Player who was stronger than Arnold Schwarzeneggar
A boxer can punch, ok, but can he kick? Leg is more powerful than hand and longer if your sheen can break a break a brick like Shaolin monks, boy, a boxer won't have a chance when he gets kicked.
NO WAY! it was chinese gangster who planned the whole thing. he was not allowed to teach to whites and blacks. they set up a fight with wong jack man and he won and carries on teaching. after becoming an actor, he was so famous and the chinese triad terminates him and his son. real bullets on stage!
