Goldberg never grew from his 2 weeks training in the Power Plant before his first WWE run. WCW booked him with short term thinking. He squashed the entire roster in five minute or less matches, basically leaving him with no opponents. He squashes Hogan to take the title. Now what? Well the only way to beat him was by cattle prod, since he couldn't work any kind of a real PPV main event, and he's squashed everyone. People forget the character people fondly remember from WCW, the 180-0 or whatever, was long gone while he was still in WCW. He was foundering at the end, there. Bring him to WWE, he still can't promo, and he still can't work more than five minutes. At the time you had Rock, HHH, Austin, Cena, Undertaker, Jericho, Benoit, Guarerro, Lesnar, Angle, Edge, Christian, etc. You weren't going to have him squash the whole roster full of talent like that. And he refused to adapt, and become a real worker. He killed his own career back then. Oddly enough, he came back in 2017, the more complete worker he should have been before. He would have had an amazing WWE career if 2017 Goldberg would have been 2003 Goldberg, in his physical prime, with all of those HOF legends to work with.

I honestly wasn't expecting this story to be so good. But then again, I didn't know Vince was gonna be apoplectic: Apoplectic Vince ALWAYS makes for an entertaining story.

The environment Goldberg found himself in when he arrived was very hostile. Almost NOBODY wanted him there because they saw him as a threat to their spot and let it be known. Shit,they even put this into a storyline on tv. Goldberg is not the type of guy to take that kinda shit from anyone. It was oil and water situation. I don’t blame Goldberg for becoming paranoid,aggressive,and secluding himself as much as possible in those conditions. I also don’t blame a lot of the wrestlers for being worried about their spot though. Both sides could’ve,and should’ve handed it better....at least he came back and got closure.

Jericho is one of the all time greats why he can work with anybody do any kind of match and the big thing is Jericho could be the best ever on the mic while Goldberg has the look and his promos is only 1 then there all the same and so are his matches but he has the IT factor.

Former football players that sustained a lot of head trauma in their career, including concussions, tend to develop short term memory loss. From hearing descriptions from those that saw Bill Goldberg play football, my guess is he did suffer his share of concussions. And defensive lineman get their heads slammed around on every play. Add that to Goldberg's reckless working style. DDP's shoot interview of his match with Goldberg sounds like Goldberg was concussed. I'm no fan of the Goldberg character or how he was booked. But I certainly wish no post career ill to Bill Goldberg the person. Accumulated brain trauma is no joke.
