I met Rick at a Tri-state show in Philadelphia years ago when my friend who drove us there car battery died and he ended up giving us a jump to get it started. A really nice guy completely different from his ring character.

I’d believe he was nice dude. If you listen to any of the wrestlers who spent time with him outside of the ring they all have great things to say about him, I can’t think of any negative stories involving him. Steve Austin brings him up from time to time on his podcast and you can hear by the tone of voice how much love and respect he had for him.

@mharris1270 Your assumption about pornography on the internet is incorrect - stolen porn is often moderated, though it's still present to a degree, particularly on lesser-trafficked sites. the schedule has gotten a lot better. for years they ground these guys to dust. Roddy Piper said once that he wrestled for a month and a half straight without a day off and struggled getting out of bed. what were you going to do? say no and lose your spot? you took pain pills, muscle relaxants and steroids to recover quickly, survive and get bigger. yes, the business is partly to blame.

Steroids helped with pain also and injury recovery. However mixed with amphetamines, coke, ect is why they all died at 40. I saw it in dog racing 1 to 2 years. Liver kidneys and heart shot. That would be 14 years in people usually at 40 years of age. Horse racing same deal. Before I get tore apart, my dogs were only naturally trained nutrition and hard work only. Didn't mean I didn't know what was happening , I learned about it from a Indian friend that knew wahoo McDaniel personally in 1979 . They called them wrestlers shots.

I always thought Pillman was more remembered for when he grabbed Bobby Hennan at ringside and Brain swore on live television because Pillman didn't know there was a no touch rule with Heenan because of his neck.

Being a die hard Horsemen fan, it was such a joy to see JCP create a new hot team - Ravishing and Raging - I just wish they could have taken that team to AWA or WWF. Rude was a great heel - the kinda guy you always wanted to put a belt on. He had a great career, which was not cut short, he just died near the end. WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE NOW, IS FOR ALL YOU..................TO KEEP THE NOISE DOWN WHILE I REMOVE MY ROBE AND SHOW THE LADIES WHAT A REAL MAN IS SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE - HIT THE MUSIC JACK

In honor of Rick, I remember when I was a kid and watched (on tv) Jake the snake ripped off Rude's tights defending his wifes honor. My brotther and I jumped out of our seats. Our parents told us wrestling was fake but when we saw that and the blur used to hide the actual underwear we couldn't see. We were convinced that it was all real. Our parents weren't angry that we had seen it because they were so shocked that it happened THEY even began to question if that really happened.... Absolute entertainment and I still remember how Rude danced around.and ran as if he was naked. Great show!

It raises your growth hormone levels while you sleep. Injectable hgh was super expensive back then, way more than it is now so guys would use ghb instead.

Rick in my opinion was only bested by Ric Flair in the 1980s as far as wrestling talent and charisma. I love Hulk Hogan but Rick Rude, Mr. Perfect, Ric Flair and Ted DiBiase they were the true wrestlers for me growing up in the 1980s. I really think WWE should revive Rick Rude's gimmick but with one of the females...she would draw so much heat! Someone should approach Vince and Lisa Ann with this idea...Lol! Great video, do you have an audio podcast?

One of the greatest workers, and perhaps a top three heel of all time. What a performer! And much like Owen Hart, you'd be hard pressed to find a single performer that has something bad to say about Rude as someone to share the road, the ring, and locker room, with.

GHB doesn't burn fat while you sleep. In fact it doesn't burn fat at all. The only reason why bodybuilders took it was too give the same effect as alcohol without the calories that beer or mixed drinks had. It was made to treat narcolepsy

Eric Bischoff was kicked out of Rick Rude’s wake/funeral. Rude took out one of those Lloyd’s of London insurance claims on his back, and when he hurt it in Japan he collected on the insurance payout which meant he could never wrestle again without having to payback the insurance claim. Rude seeing the business booming in the late 90’s felt he could make a comeback and wanted Bischoff to pay off his insurance claim for him, and take less money in his contract. Bischoff felt that was not a good investment and it created serious heat between Rude & Bischoff. Rick knew he couldn’t go back to WWF after the whole being on Nitro/Raw at the same time fiasco. So his only option was to manage Curt Henning. I believe Rick even pulled a gun on Eric at one point.

Well add in the fact that it's long rumored both rude and henning took the policy fraudulently. They saw that these huge guaranteed contracts were coming out and they couldn't come back to get one without paying back the amounts already paid out.

Not fair to blame the business? If any other form of sports entertainment had the number of deaths per capita that wrestling has had over the last 30 years, there'd be inquisitions held. Prisons sentences. But nothing ever gets said when wrestlers die. At least outside of wrestling circles. Never understood why. It's a goddamn shame too because many of these wrestlers were the nicest, most humble people you'd ever want to meet. And then they got pushed over the edge in many, many cases.

@@TheJpep2424 If you weren't in the business or knew anyone from the business in the 80s and 90s, then do not comment. You have no idea how things worked, and how much pressure there was on wrestlers to try and stay in shape on the road and perform night after night. It wasn't like they were just standing there flicking a guitar.

@@leftylucy2263 It very much is and was a sport. Those guys went through hell trying to stay in shape, and be able to perform night after night. They weren't faking flying through the air and landing on things. Nor were they faking their various neck and spinal injuries, broken bones, or deaths.
