Lord Alfred Hayes is a legend. Great wrestler, great commentator and an even better human being.

I remember on one of the Coliseum Video releases, that Sean Mooney starting ribbing Lord Alfred Hayes about the status of his automobile saying that Lord Alfred's old jalopy couldn't get him from Point A-Point B. I always thought it was unfortunate that Lord Alfred Hayes didn't get a proper induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. He's in there under the Legacy Wing, but I remember reading that his children were more than willing to accept an induction on their father's behalf. I wonder why WWE never reached out?

After the late 00’s, the WWE Hall of Fame began to forsake the golden era wrestlers and began to focus on stars who debuted in and after the 90s for some strange reason.

I use to live in Norwalk, C.T. and I know that restaurant Bruce was talking about. Pretty pricey at the time, but is a good place to eat steak and sea food.

He was even part of my parents childhood here in the UK (along with "Lock ness" in the WCW ie Giant Haystacks) as "Judo" Hayes. My dad tells me how they'd all sit around the TV on the weekend and watch Big Daddy, Kendo Nagasaki, Judo Hayes. All legends.

My very first exposure to Alfred was when he was Managing Angelo Mosca in The A.W.A in the 70's. My very favorite Alfred Moment in TV was when he was on Tuesday Night Titans during the infamous Jay Strongbow-Dick Murdoch incident with the Pow Wow in the Parking Lot.

I loved the skit he did with The Rockers where they spent half an hour trying to teach him to say ‘woo!’ with conviction.

Lord Alfred was the first wwf commentator I can remember. I bought a vhs called wrestlings greatest champions. I watched it to death with my brother and we were hooked on wrestling after it. It was weird how he was used on commentary, he was usually supporting the faces but occasionally took the heel role as well, depending on who he was with. He was great and I missed him a lot when he stopped working for the wwf.

I am a big fan of Lord Alfred Hayes, excellent storyteller. Like Conrad said, he was the voice of WWF for kids growing up in the late 80’s & early 90’s. Alfred was also a pretty bad ass shooter in his younger days. Judo champ who survived through the Nazi Luftwaffe blitz. Alfred enlisted in the Royal Army afterwards. True English gentleman

I’m surprised Bruce could be such good friends with Hayes and such good friends with Piper. Piper’s stories about Hayes aren’t endearing.

As someone who is English I have to say I always hated him as I thought he was such a caricature and not very good at all at commentary. Didn't Roddy Piper once say he was sexually assaulted by Hayes and Pat Patterson?
