Son, can I say that's the best Bruce reaction I've listened to. Bruce imo is the greatest most prolific and diverse musical artist ever. You have now past the test and can move up to a higher Bruce level. Can I humbly ask you to react to 41 shots from Live in nys 2000. Peter Scotland

Things Chod does right... He listens to the music through instead of chopping it up with his opinions every chord change... He allows the music to get its message across before he gets his message in. He has the music or the video as the main focus instead of making himself the focus of the reaction until AFTER the music is done. That’s why I follow him... that’s why I subscribe to his channel... that’s why I support him. Another great job on this music Chod.

I've been to a ton of concerts, and as great as the others all were, I didn't find any artist puts more out on stage than Bruce and E Street. They always seem to have their hearts fully in whatever emotion is being conveyed--and a lot of time that was things like joy, or compassion, or togetherness.

Finally! Thanks Chod 😄. Bruce has a LOT more to offer than Born in the USA and Born to run. He and the E Street Band are just the most glorious experience on stage. To see their craft on full display I would recommend their improvised cover of You never can tell, live in Leipzig.

I agree 100% I have been a fan since 1975 and have seen him many times but have to say I have never heard this done this way. Absolutely outstanding and beautiful! Every part was perfection and just confirms what makes him so great especially when you can surprise even a die hard fan. Love love love Bruce and the E Street Band❤

This performance demonstrates the greatness of the E Street Band and shows why they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame a few years after Bruce's induction. Roy Bittan's piano is as integral to Springsteen's live shows as Clarence's Sax was. Max Weinberg's drums are the engine behind the E-Street Band. Little Steven, Nils Lofgren and Garry W. Tallent all complement each other perfectly. Danny Federici had already passed away at the time of this video but his organ was also so identifiable. Clarence was always bigger than life but unfortunately he's also gone too.

This is my favorite version of this song I have ever heard. Love the arrangement! Phenomenal. The song starts slow with piano and Bruce's vocals. A haunting piano that is there the whole song. Love Max on the drums, great as usual. I love how the song builds to a crescendo as the whole band comes together for an amazing finish. I listen to this song over and over again and I am more amazed the more I listen to it. Absolutely beautiful!!

Such an obvious homage to "Dancing in the Streets" by Martha and the Vandellas (1964) -and Bruce and his Band are known fans of music history. This is a fine example of Bruce using the world he knew, like all Artist/Musician/Writer/creative and depicting an honest image. Racing cars, not dancing -like his "Wreck on the Highway" or "Meeting across the River" , "My Hometown" -etc....may not be in New Jersey, but other locations in America, and understandable by people from the 1970's into 2020's. Glad for your reaction, Wilburn :)

Great reaction. And you picked a great version. The song originally appeared on 1978's "Darkness on the Edge of Town." This "live" version from 2009 isn't from a concert (which is why you heard no audience). He rerecorded the full album live on stage in Asbury Park and included the DVD in the box set of "The Promise: The Darkness on the Edge of Town Story".

Chod, you're a drummer. Were you a Max Weinberg fan before you knew him through Springsteen? And, do you also find that Springsteen seems to do his arrangements as though each band member is a section in an orchestra? The songs roll and meld like a symphony in the background of his rock ballad.

Something in the Night, same album as RITS, by Bruce is just raw lyrical power and emotion or New York City Serenade from his album The Wild, The Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle. Nah, I think some people have heard the original so many times that they've doing the kneejerk reaction to this, or becoming captives of the moment to a live version. Check out the original studio version. They don't spend countless hours working on the songs to get them just right for nothing.

Nice analysis. This version isn’t my favorite version as I like Philadelphia in 2016 better. That said this was one of the last time’s Clarence was around in 2009. The reason the outro works is the organ line ( Originally done by Danny Federici before he passed in 4/2008) is so import as it weaves through Roy’s piano playing. As good as Roy’s solos are the organ line helps make the song. It’s a brilliant example of a few chords.
