Tonight, to acknowledge Veterans Day, the guys have a guest on set as they open and review the Islay Region Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bruichladdich, The Classic Laddie NAS released at 50%. In between laughter and banter the consensus is: this is, in fact, a Classic example of a Single Malt Scotch. Bruichladdich is one of my all time favorite distilleries, and the Laddie is my go-to when I want some dusty dry citrus-tinged raw maltyness. I also really like that the bottle stands out so much. Whenever I am in a bar and want a Scotch but only see very basic bottles... and then I see that teal bottle... Jackpot!

right. public places are always questionable on their stock of SMSW, usually Glenfiddich 12 and Glenlivet 12 (not complaining, but on the well known path)...but seeing teal bottle buried in the back...we agree: jackpot. just an excellent example of an unpeated scotch whisky. Cheers!

Outstanding as always guys. I've never had the Classic Laddie as I'm more a fan of their peated whiskies. That changes tomorrow however. Thank you and keep up the great work. Cheers...

I'll try to do my best here. The nose is apricot, apple, pear, vanilla, oak & a little sea brine. The taste is outstanding with the fruits, vanilla & oak blending with the 50% ABV marvelously. The mouthfeel is a little thin but the finish lingers perfectly. I've been drinking Scotch whiskey for a while now and this a very well balanced whiskey. I'd put it up against any other NAS whiskey in Scotland regardless of region. But if there's a better non-peated Islay I'd love to try it. Cheers! @@TBWD
