I only just started following RU closely after a near 30 year hiatus but yes I was shocked to see a team with Damian Mackenzie in it get schooled like this. I thought Union was dying in Oz ( it's only one game I suppose ).
@chrismacsims I'd disagree, growing up between England and Australia, the school boys rugby union in Aus was/is another strength level. I made the 1s pretty easy in England but I'd be lucky to make the 2s in Aus. Union is dying at the senior level because the talent now all gets poached by rugby league because the pay and player development is better e.g. Kalyn Ponga (although I think he might have kiwi blood)
@chrismacsims You're right there's a class problem at schools (I went private) but I don't think I would have met as nearly as many people of all different backgrounds if it weren't for my local rugby league/union clubs, however there were way more state school kids at my league club
Just relentless attacks from the brumbies from start to finish. Didn't even care about taking the 3 point penalty. Kept gunning for the tryline every chance they had. Unbelievable.
