So great! Felton Pilate ll actually commented on RU-vid he was honored and that he loved their interpretation. It's awesome that they are being brought back to the forefront with this remake. It paid proper homage without taking away the greatness of the original. And both will be appreciated.

I agree with you Verlita, it is NOT better. No one can take the place of Con Funk Shun and Michael Cooper's version. Anderson's drumline on this and the horns instead of the synthesizer, plus Bruno's insane vocal range, simply made this their own. Much props to Anderson's funky ad libs "the ring a ling, can only mean one thing" and more. Just a fantastic cover and I'm glad Silk Sonic is showing everyone what those of us Baby Boomers have known, our music was AWESOME.

Yeah, Silk Sonic definitely tore this song up & I’m a HUGE fan! They are stupid talented, but idk that it’s better than the original. Certainly updated & they did it musical justice for sure. Also, idk whether it can be said that Silk Sonic would’ve been as great as the acts of the 70s & 80s had they come up at that time. I say that because I think it’s the influence of those acts from the 70’s & 80’s that they pull from, that make them SO DAMN GOOD!!! They are able to take that vibe & feel & modernize it just enough, yet stay true to the groove, the vibe & the feel of that classic sound. It’s a balance I definitely try to find in my own music as well. Bruno is a master of it & both he & Anderson are mega talented musicians! Can’t wait for more from these guys!!

We were so lucky to grow up in the best era of music. I always wondered what would come about of our music as we aged and became nostalgic. This is so much better than anything I imagined. ❤

To say that Bruno would top MJ if they were out at the same time/same age is just a huge no. Speaking of business? Ma'am MJ acquired 50% of SONY'S ATV Music publishing rights by the age of 30 💀 heck, he owned the whole Beatles catalogue at the age of 26! If you understood the impact of this deal alone, you'd realize how business-savvy Mike is. I love me some Bruno, he's been one of my fav artists since his pop era days along w Anderson who is also insanely just pure raw talent. There's no denying that he is hands-down probably, if not, the most talented all-rounded individual in the game rn 😩 but, to put him up there with MJ in any of these categories you listed is just outrageous 🥴

He was literally BLACK in a predominantly white industry. If anything, it was even harder for him to crack it. What about CONFUNKSHUN and HEATWAVE *(Rod Templeton) Ohio Players BAR-KAYS Earth Wind and Fire just to mention a few so many others to contend with regard that type of "RESPECT" when it comes to identifying with that particular era of "REAL BANDS" Michael Jackson was a part of the JACKSON'S band. Later going solo with the help of QUINCY JONES providing PRODUCTION and HEATWAVES *(ROD TEMPLETON) sounds from "OFF THE WALL" to "THRILLER" both ROD and QUINCY were very influential in the making of these particular to solo projects. SilkSonic is a MODERN DAY product of old school GROVES and CLASSIC music 🎶. MICHAEL JACKSON wasn't a BAND equally you don't see the BIGGER picture of all the other GREAT BANDS and SONG of that particular era to compete with. My favorite is PRINCE ROGERS NELSON 78- Until. He was truly a "ONE MAN BAND" of musicianship. *(Musicologist) true genius reflected PRINCE ROGERS NELSON REAL RESPECT for God's Gift to the world seldom NOTICED regarding musicianship and artistic genius examplfed. Sadly and SAVAGELY the morden day youth even when in comes to the internet doesn't understand the depth of creativity that PRINCE delivered clearly though out his lifetime covering all of the genres of music from POP, R&B, JAZZ, FUNK, ROCK, HIP-HOP, COUNTY, CLASSICAL, NEW WAVE, FOLK, REGGAE, LATIN, ETC. ..
