Welcome to Six Nickel Ranch. In this video I demonstrate the brush clearing abilities of our DR Power Pro XL30. 22hp. We bought this neglected 30 acre timberland last year. It was clear cut 15 years ago and left alone. It soon became a bush field with tons of vines and scrub trees. We plan on rehabbing this beautiful East Texas property to resume timber production.

I bought one of the 20 HP models and it's a beast. It will do exactly (actually more than) what the manufacture states. Get the heavy-duty blade option. I ran the heck out of it for three years and never had a moment of trouble with it. Nice to have an American made product that performs as advertised.

Bought a ProXL30 about 6 months ago and it does what they say it does. I do wear hearing and eye protection when using it. In real dry dusty areas a dust mask comes in handy. I give it a 10 out of 10 so far.

I've been having my DR for about two years now. It can go places where tractors can’t go

I agree. I have some washout that would tip a tractor for sure.

So if its self propelled with independent handbrakes for each wheel, how do you stop it to shift gears?? EDIT: Theres a squeeze throttle on the left handle to make it go and another on the right to turn the blade. Great review, buddy, showing it at work is the best way to review these things

I got 1-2 tall grass and desert sage bushes that are about 2-3 feet tall, that thing would make easy work of it.

You should get a Ventrac 4500, not a DR. That thing takes forever to clear the 30 acre lot.

I hope that you are not going to clear all 30 acres with that machine. The rate of your progress that can be seen would take years and a lot of gasoline. Also dust masks and ear protection are a must to maintain your health.
