In terms of atmosphere, Brutal Doom the Black Edition takes the cake, it is my favourite mod and it’s depressing that it is done and no longer worked on
He was always hairy, you cant see it because of the hud in the bottom of the screen but ID used pictures of the developer Kevin Cloud's arms for the images used in game, i recommend watching the sprite video Decino made, it has a lot more interesting findings about the games sprites.
These guns feel better than AAA games and yhe visual effects and animations are just straight to thebpoint. Perfect. Id like to play that online on a battlfield map!
How about the Mp40 and Mg42 to make the secret levels actually worth something? Having an assault rifle means there's another caliber of bullet in the game that the mini gun also uses making it like an actual effective mini gun. Rocket launcher can lob grenades and plasma rifle can fire a charged shot. Revenant rocket launches that lock on and the mancubus canon. But the only good things were shotgun and Mg.
@@DominoFreakShow Worth something? Please. Next to useless more like it. Why do I need 3 SMG's when I can just make do with 1 minigun or an assault rifle? The Revenant Rocket launcher ain't worth a damn when you can just use the regular rocket launcher and its alt-fire, more over the Mancubus Flame thrower that fucks up your frame rate, and can even kill you at close range and heavily obstructs your view with that awful splash damage. Bloated and a train-wreck. But yes please, if you're bothered with my personal take then take your time try and change my mind.
It's to fit the secret Wolfenstein levels, you get MP40s from the soldiers there. Also even if it weren't the case, fuck the MP5 and fuck realism lmao, its a game about shooting floating meatball demons with a DOUBLE BARREL. You know, that gun from THE OLD WEST!? Ppl wanna talk abt "outdated" and "shouldn't be there" guns, then the SSG is technically the oldest firearm in Doom, from the 1800s. MP40's just cool, man. Nothing else to it. So don't overthink it, just like you shouldn't overthink why the UAC still uses a pump-action shotgun that looks so old I think my grandpa shot deer with it. (Even if it's look is updated in Brutal Doom, it's still dumb that its a pump at all)
@@Eye_Of_Odin978 technically the UAC doesnt use shawed off shotguns, thats why the ssg doesnt appear in doom 1, the ssg is in doom 2 because the civilians used them to self defense from demons
@@juanokug4 Call of Duty popularized it and made it mainstream. Reloading is a garbage mechanic that I wish would just be dropped out of games completely.
