Surprised you didn't mention: Sadist's Stiletto + Open Wounds = all melee hits crit after the first strike. Seriously one of my favorite combos though a couple of downsides are it's not a weapon with particularly high base damage and you have to get right up in the face of enemies to use it...which isn't always ideal. A good mutation to pair this with is Melee to slow down enemies some in the process which makes getting up close and personal slightly safer.

Nice guide! I rly liked how the explanations are all simple and easy to understand. Although I do strongly recommend u to do guides for 2BC in the future as it is the very first major difficulty spike for a lot of newcomers like me. Not only are healing fountains completely gone w/ only a couple single health flask recharges here and there, but all sorts of new enemy types will begin to appear in various areas. I was recently just able to barely get past 2bc w/ a legendary blood sword and lots of other AOE add-on effects.

I really liked running with the freeze blast and the dual blades that do more damage when behind someone. And more damage to frozen targets. Also got this colorless blood sword that spread the bleeding to nearby enemies and people would die all around me while I'm just slicing one person. It's so fun.

I like the twin daggers, they are the best before you unlock any really good weapons since they swing fast and the crit damage is insane, and the crits are guaranteed

I think the Rapier and the Frontline shield is a pretty great combo for brutality.

I’ve found pairing an infantry bow with a melee works well as u can hit them a. Few times and infantry now to crit and cancel their attack

I now try to beat 1 BC, for my third time and try to finally beat 2 BC for the first time. Thank you for the tips.

My build in brutality is sadist stiletto and the mutation wounding cause the stiletto will have a crit when the mobs are poisoned or bleeding and wound mutation will make your hit bleed so its a perma crit

Today, I got my first BSC with Balanced Blade, Rampart Shield, Sinew Slicer, and Cleaver.

I feel like Alot of people underestimate the rapier, it literally is the best early game weapon, rolling makes you crit instantly after for a few hits with almost no cooldown and one of the attacks is a barrage type attack dealing huge dmg

How do you get the killled enemies without hit counter you have over your cells? And really helpful video btw

Pyrotechnics is a great ranged weapon

I actually really like the Serenade with the Impaler and sometimes assassin's knife or some other high dps weapon. I also usually pick up a shield and use the armadillopack survival mutation so my rolls parry aswell, which will also do damage to the enemy depending on the shield. I forget if this also allows the shields effect to trigger. I just need to pick out a good secondary skill to complete the build, as i tend to use the crossbowamatic, but I would prefer a brutality based trap or sentry/turret, or something. Suggestions are welcome!

Quality content. Helped me to drop Tactics for Brutality, as Tactics are basically just traps cheese which I don't like. Also, at 1:04 you hit the pink grenadier ball, it turned blue, got sent flying and hit him instead... You mind explaining how? Those bombs are bane of my perfect - door - run - existence. If that helps I'm on iOS, currently version 1.60, maybe I just don't have the weapon yet...

The time it takes to unlock things is sooooo slow. Getting the blueprints take forever even if luck is on your side, and then getting the HUNDREDS of cells needed to unlock them takes even longer. Especially if you aren’t making much progress in the game to begin with.

4:31 That's the issue for me. I like brutality builds but since not many good shields I prefer to use sword, bow and get good at dodging lol. Also most of my kills on HOTK in every difficulty have been a combination of blood sword and other stuff. For 2-3BSC I used Blood Sword, Hokuto, Magnetic grenade (which is great to make his own golden grenades blow up on him) and something else. About mutations, I tend to use melee, open wounds and velocity for the game, and change velocity with Vengeance or Tainted Flask for second and last boss. I suppose 4 BSC will make me change somewhat but for now I'll try to keep using that and see what happens lol.

im new to dead cells, i am looking for a up to date guide on brutality, tactics and survival. which is the better path to go down? i want a mega fuck ton of damage while staying alive because i have died a few times already and boy did i rage. lol

Also a nice thing about bleeding, which you didn't mention, is how it stacks, for bosses in particular. Blood Sword has no crits but it´s very effective for bosses, because once 5 bleeding effects stack, all the remaining damage of the bleeding occurs in the act, which also removes all the bleeding effects so you can stack them again. That effect usually kills most non-boss enemies, so it's best seen on bosses, which take that entire damage. So with Blood Sword+Open Wounds every third attack is a pseudo-crit where you cause a lot of bleeding damage in an instant. When I got Open Wounds and used that build against 2BSC HOTK it was A TON faster than any 0BSC HOTK I have beaten with or without Blood Sword. I think 3BSC was also very fast. Edit: It seems my memories are playing a trick on me. I the bleed stack effect a recent modification?

Don't know if you'll see this but I'm playing on Android that just got released, so Necromancy hasn't been nerfed yet i think, so is it still viable for Brutality builds like this?

0:23 - 0:38 the hp is about 10% per run in total which tbh isnt really a lot and the weapons you gain access to are fast and hit hard. So yes, you are more of a weapon. Also there are a lot of things that do d(amage) o(ver) t(ime) damage. But going away from enemies before they die isnt that good of an idea as you might leave behind cells or gold or maybe the enemy survives and hits you later on (important for 4 b(oss) c(ells)+ 0:39 - 0:49 Just burst damage, look for that. Dot can be used but shouldnt be focused on (blood dot can be used to deal massive burst dmg tho) 0:50 - 1:12 Well, i cant agree. Those dot weapons are usefull if you have other weapons which deal the same kind of dot. But alone they arent really good. For a melee weapon on Brutality i would recommend something that 1 - shots enemies fast. 1:13 - 1:48 Under these circumstances, yes, especially bleeding dot weapons are very good, i would tho not recommend the blood sword as it has very high starting lag in comparision to other Brutality weapons. The other bleeding weapons are very good tho. Also such a build doesnt really help with swarming enemys when you only have dot weapons. A grenade would be a good idea. 1:54 - 2:22 The oil sword is better than the blood sword, but does still have the same problem as the blood sword with the kinda high starting lag. Also because of blood explosion (added after this video). Blood is the superior dot because it can do very high burst damage against bosses. 2:23 - 3:12 Well in fact you can play like that, the throwable torch is a really good weapon as you can just move on after firing it and dont stop or lose momentum (same with throwing knife). the melee torch is basically a worse version of it (same with blood sword). And the 2nd round isnt at all needed if you have seen everything, as long as you have the kill combo of course. 3:13 - 3:50 As you can see in the video, a fast and hard hitting melee weapon was really needed here, he was getting hit multiple times which wasnt very good. He does have a point, fire and blood dot are very good against bosses, but you just need something more, or else you are out of options, mainly because melee torch sucks. (btw this is why i hate slow melee weapons, the starting and end lag always gets me hit.) 3:51 - 4:22 Indeed infantry bow does work good with a shield, but you only have 1 shield that goes with brutality, which also buffs melee damage and the infantry bow doesnt deal melee dmg. This only works early game, as the infantry bow does have a lot of lag (again) and if you cant 1 shot enemies it can get rough quickly. A shield helps but still it doesnt work well. This stops working at 3bc and higher just because you cant 1 shot anymore. 4:23 - 4:54 I mean if you take shields, might as well let them scale for extra dmg. Also Frontline shield buffs melee dmg so its worth trying that out. 4:56 - 6:03 Oh god theres a lot of clean up to do here. Rather than trying to heal yourself (you can try adrenalin and but its super hard to gain health from it on purpose, other than that you can go with frenzy and velocity, it works pretty good, but it takes up 2 mutation slots) which works badly with brutality after necromancy nerf, try to get more dmg. combo is very usefull as it now deals +% dmg after a kill. Its super good with dot, especially bleeding dot. the melee mutation is also pretty good as it allows you to get your combos through even if the enemy already started attacking. it used to prevent maliase up for x amount of time from that enemy after a hit which worked perfectly. tainted flask is really good if you need a flask charge in 4bc+ and it can save runs if needed. All the other brutality mutations arent so good. There are better version in the non color mutations. Vengeance got nerfed into the ground, but it used to be brutality mutation mvp with berserker for ultimate dmg reduction. Also in my opinion, the best brutality melee weapon is the rapier. It crits everytime you roll or parry. Its the weapon i mained together with ice shards before ice shards where shifted to survival and tactic. But its still great with a secondary weapon which doesnt slow you down. I choose this weapon over any other in the game just because of its versitility. Also the affixes it can get work well with so many other weapons. And it has like no lag.

Is the footage of zero boss-cell gameplay? Not very helpful. Show me that your tips work at the higher levels, when then help is really needed

These guides aren't that good for beginners since I don't have half of all these items you speak of so I have no clue of what you are talking about
