The srt4 was a good car and great price. You could spend 20k on one new, and 5k in upgrades and smoke sti's and evos all day and still be less money than both of those stock. That steering wheel ain't factory so you can't blame that on dodge. And yes it's a srt4, do you go around telling Sti owners to stop calling them sti because it's still just a imprezza, and evos are still just lancers?
I have the '04 same color too and I don't have any problems with 3rd or any other gear. The car has been reliable for me and I've had it for 5 months already
I love the SRT-4! I fell in love with the ACR in white. Every SRT in my area has a 3rd gear issue. I've only seen one acr in white around here in Utah. I'm still keeping an eye out. Eventually I WILL have one in my garage. Around here they are like the MK1 Focus SVT, either beat to hell and back, or they are asking ungodly high prices. I have a Mk 3.5 Focus ST currently going FBO and tune, and a MK1 Focus that's built for strictly auto-x. But I WILL eventually find a decent 05 ACR. I love the fact that people still argue with "it's just a neon" it's like the EVO is "just a lancer" or the ST/RS is "just a focus"....
that " neon" would eat that truck for breakfast. With a few relatively inexpensive upgrades, it would smoke that R/T challenger featured at the end. New challenger $40k, put that money into the SRT4, and it would be a strong contender to even the hellcat.
Although short a funny review as always. Most Stage 3 NSRTs ran 11s from the dealership so even if some of you do hate these cars you have to admit the performance is impressive.
Fun little car paid $3500 with a salvage title a bumper light missing and driver side door not opening snapped whole shift linkage missing third gear about a month in not gonna blame it on the car but its funny you say that other than that sitting at a light or drive thru was very stressful watching the temp gauge go up didn't even need heat during the colder months cause of that air conditioner blew whatever was outside but at a faster speed roasted passenger side front caliber due to there being like 1cm of clearance between it and the stock rim clutch was fine interior looked cool and felt okay being a average height teen you can definitely tell you're in a neon though the lights are so close to the ground you can't see shit with them no difference between high and low beams sounded good for a 4cyl and definitely made the right noises for what it was made for and definitely drove the way it was designed to scratched all the way through first and chirped 2nd and sometimes 3rd if you shifted fast enough (how i missed third) fixed linkage then sold it for $4200 to the next teen owner
I think that the fact that you are 10lbs lighter than maybe the car. Just because you have kankles and a waist just short of the equator doesn't make the SRT4 slow. Drop a metric ton and try the car again as any car that you, the average size guy isn't going to be fast, period. And in 2004 it was only called an SRT4, so since you don't read anything but a menu, you wouldn't have a clue.
My dude, you are NOT "average size"! You barely fit in your clothes, let alone that poor Srt 4. I'm average size at 5'11" and 230lbs. You're at least 300lbs bro and 6' tall. By no stretch of the imagination are you "average size". I own a 2005 Srt 4 and fit perfectly. I don't mind you calling it a neon ss long as you don't forget that that an Evo is a lancer and an Sti is an impreza. It's just the top of the line in their respective model line up. Facts!
that steering wheel look so flimsy. yo bobby you forgot to tell them the neon srt only had power windows in the front and it has manual window in the rear
