It was not a survival show. Survival shows are dramatic, have at least 30-80 participants, and an elimination every week. These girls went through an Evaluation Process after years of training. There were already 5 original members for Babymonster back then who had almost the same training period with Blackpink, but most of them left and moved agencies. Rumors said that the debut took too long and the og members couldn't wait any longer. Some also said that the they got intimidated & pressured bcs of BP's success during debut. So in 2018, YG had to train and discover more trainees to replace the old BM members. That's why BM members have 2-5yrs training period. The 7 were the chosen ones for the Evaluation. YG wanted to stick with a max of 5 members only, but there are too many empathetic, demanding and overreactive fans who pleaded all 7 girls to debut, so YG granted the request and debuted all 7.

Before I watch this video I’d like to say baby monster doesn’t have a weak link, no useless member in this group. It’s also next to impossible to rate these girls from most talented to least because a few of them are simply perfect in what they do. Ahyeon and Asa are literal aces, asa even composes. Chiquita hasn’t shown us her rap but YG said she’s working on it. She’s also only 14 and already has quite a voice on her and her dance/performance skills are one of the best, it’s why she’s given so much time in center position during performances. They’re all the best at what they do.

I would have to rank Rami number 1- because her singing is just on another level, yes Asa is a good rapper but Rami’s singing to me is just unreal and above anything else I’ve ever heard! For someone so young too! She was only 15 when she sang pick up your feelings. Any other kpop vocalist would struggle to sing the way she does.The vocal agility and strength and technique she’s shown, the way she makes every song her own like making her own melodies and she’s also written her own lyrics in pick up your feelings. you can’t compare babymonster with black pink since black pink has been in the industry for a long time now and released lots of songs while babymonster has only released 2. Even if you saw they’re predebut I could see lots of improvement in them so you can’t base them off a predebut anymore. Don’t just think babymonster is just a copycat with black pink cause babymonster has 7 girls while blackpink has 4. Babymonster is also not sticking with the girl crush concept with EVERY single one of they’re songs while most of the blackpink songs are girl crush themed. My honest ranking : 1. Asa & Rami (both have 2 the best categories and 1 pretty good category. just needs to be shown more. Their SP both best always attract attention) 2. Ruka (she has two best categories. but 1 category is just average or maybe it hasn't been shown yet. for SP she is also attractive) 3. Ahyeon (she has two categories are quite good and 1 is everage, but it doesn't have the best. actual ranking - 1.rami (one the best vocalists in her gen posabily , pretty good dancer , and pretty average rapper . she can be the sub rapper along side chiquita) 2-rora/asa (asa is a average vocalist and a great rapper while being main dancer material meanwhile rora is one of the best vocalists in the group with great tech) 3-ahyeon (can write her own stuff,great vocalist and rapper) 4.pharita/ruka (ruka is a great dancer and rapper and can write her own raps while pharita is a great vocalist and can hit high notes easily and has great tech and a unique vocal tone) 5. chiquita (even tho she is a good vocalist she still needs to work harder to come close to the other members in terms of tech and she can definetly be a sub rapper along side rami)

Ahyeon - She can sing, dance, rap, her stage presence 🔥, she always catch my eyes, she can write a song but not a full song, she can speak korea, english, chinese, little bit of japanese and Thai. 2. I feel like these girls wanna try so hard to beat their range, but it just hurts their voice ect. They need to learn to master their own range before moving up and those clips of ahyeon, pharita and rora in this video shows this. The strained and shaky voice. Not trying to pass hate or anything, but to save these poor girls voices, some of them need to stop trying to hit notes that they can't quite hit yet.
