Oh, I'm so glad this video clip is still on here. It's hilarious! I first saw it a few years ago and loved it. The interviewer was so oblivious to the literal translation of the song title and Bryan handled her awkwardness so well by clasping her hand and making light of it. Also, the musician behind him who was cracking up laughing was so funny to watch!
Wow!! that was unexpected!! I kind of knew there was something criptic and amusing at the same time of its lyrics!!! Anyways, I still think Summer of 69 is a truly gem of all Bryan Adam´s work.
I fucking knew it! People said to me, "Summer of '69 isn't about 69'ing", but actually, it is. It made me love that song all the more. Bryan Adams is wonderful.
Whether Brian Adams knows it or not, that song should be and stay what it is perceived to be....about the wonderful memories we have of growing up with our friends in the summer of 1969!!!!🤗🤗😂😂👌👍Because when I first heard it , it brought back the Beautiful memories of me& my friends having Fun ....going to the Drive in ( trying to get as many people as we possibly could in the Trunk!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣)!!!! Having sleep overs, pajama parties, lazy summer days eating ice cream picnics fishing trips and swimming!!!!🎣😂🤣😎🤭!!!! Really? Summer of '69 obviously isn't just about a sexual position, but even if it was why would you think that a sexual position that's fairly commonplace is "nasty, dark and disgusting"? There are a lot worse things!
I love this! It's so funny to see her expression when he explains what the song means. He's such a nice guy though and clearly didn't want to embarrass her but he was just being honest. Sooo funny. ;-))
Ha ha re Summer of '69, i always thought the song was about looking back or maybees Bryan is having a laugh. Great guy and performer. For me nothing will top Reckless from his catalogue, such a consistently good album. Cheers for posting.

Well no it is not about a sexual position. It uses it as a sexual reference to sex as a whole. Guess there’s more to it than the one sentence he tries to outline the thought. I think that in your younger days there is a lot going on, as well asl having your first summer crush, you’re first sexual experiences, starting a band, playing guitar. Dreams, first job etc. everything that goes on, and of course, sex. But again as a whole, not only that position haha.

Considering Adams wouldn't have reached his 10th birthday by that summer and be in a garage band with a guy from school named Jody who got married, it could not literally be about his experience in 1969 so...
