His place has always been so mediocre but this song and its totality it’s so beautiful and his lyrics are acceptable but he’s nowhere great musician he just got lucky his voice is very very poor
Johnny's always running around Trying to find certainty He needs all the world to confirm That he ain't lonely Mary counts the walls Knows he tires easily Johnny thinks the world would be right If it could buy truth from him Mary says he changes his mind More than a woman But she made her bet Even when the chance was slim Running around Running around Johnny says he's willing to learn When he decides he's a fool Johnny says he'd live anywhere When he earns the time Mary combs her hair Says she should be used to it Mary always hedges her bets She never knows what to think She says that he still acts like he's Being discovered Scared that he'll be caught Without a second thought Running around Running around Running around Running around Johnny feels he's wasting his breath Trying to talk sense to her Mary says he's lacking a Real sense of proportion So she combs her hair Knows he tires easily Johnny's always running around Trying to find certainty He needs all the world to confirm That he ain't lonely Mary counts the walls Says she should be used to it Running around Running around Running around Running around
The Mary who resides in me greets the Mary who resides in almost all women. Strong and sweet Mary. Palmer, wherever he is, he's sure to smile with this beautiful version... ❤️🌷
It's like the very moment the non dairy cream rises up from the middle of my coffee and swirls around . . . while i look to my left and three 6 week old kittens are staring at me heads turned to the side, in july
Absolutely a beautifully haunting rendition. WOW...I don't think Mr Ferry has ever made a bad cover of any song, he takes them and owns them. What vision, what talent, what pleasure it has been for me listening to him since the early 70s
This cover is atmospheric and has sense of haunting, depression , reminiscing , just adds new dimension to this great song , miss one of fav Robert Palmer . All respect to Bryan Ferry
Few people deserve the opportunity to cover timeless classics. I could say that Bryan Ferry is one of the few that does, he like Robert Palmer has a great voice, he has the class and the musical gravitas to pull it off. Well done sir.
Dang, Bryan Ferry is aging well. Still a handsome, handsome man. Love the dreamy gaze of an artist immersed in creating lyrics and music. Great song and video.
Ten utwór jest zadziwiająco smutny i melancholijny. Ot, idealny dla faceta 50+, który wiele już widział i w niewiele wierzy. Johnny says he's willing to learn when he decides he's a fool... But it is not an easy decision... We feel fools almost all the time. Our chances have gone away and all what we can to do is running around...
Bryan Ferry is the most handsome man I have ever set eyes on, and wow can he sing. This is a lovely rendition of Palmer's song. Slowing it down the way he has adds such tenderness to the song and the little banjo riff is delightful. I love it x love you Bryan xx
I have seen and heard the original performer (Robert Palmer) perform this live and most recently in 1988 at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, New York. Check out the original, on 1980's "Clues," by Robert Palmer.
Bryan Ferry has the most seductive, sultry voice I have ever heard, my God!!!!! I listened to him all the time. The eightie's were the best time in my life for music... He stand's alone, in his craft..... He make's you want to dance, on the dance floor, free as a spirit, and flow, as you dance...
God, how wonderful this is! An amazing and enchanting voice, a video from which you can’t take your eyes off, music that makes your heart skip a beat. This is real magic, which I so sorely lack today.
One word, masterpiece. If Robert could only listen to this i bet he would be very pleased. Bryan gave it a new dimension, this version is the pinacle of this song, absolutly no doubt...fantastic, unearthly, deep and haunting.
Bryan Ferry , além de grande compositor e cantor, "toma posse" das músicas alheias com extremo bom gosto e elegância!! Esplêndida versão desta linda música do Robert Palmer!
MERCI❣️🇫🇷...10.10.2022
Brian is pure genius, the coolest man in music ever. I didn't think he had anything left to offer, then I found this song, I hope there is more to come because he is way ahead of anything that is mainstream these days.
Did you know it's actually a cover version of Robert Palmer's song from 1980? Both are superb, but this is a more slowed-down and sophisticated interpretation.
First it's not his song, it's a song by Robert Palmer. Secondly Todd Terje is the genius at play here as he composed the song. Bryan Ferry just lent his voice to the song.
@@quietstorm8129 What do you mean by sour grapes? First of all I'm a huge fan of Roxy Music and Bryan Ferry. Secondly, what part of this cover version was made by Todd Terje (included in his first album 'It's Album Time') and Bryan Ferry sings in it you don't understand?
That is the best version of this song for me. It really give the ambiance of the story. A beautifull arrangment and the vocal of Mr Ferry makes a perfect pair. Love!!!
Johnny and Mary is an all time classic - to cover is a damned hard job. You made a fantastic new version of it, with completely different melancholic mood. Robert Palmer would have loved it!
Running around ....a circle of desperation! This is a very haunting version and I completely enjoy Mr. Bryan Ferry with this version. It is a shame that people can't enjoy the moments of life.
No puedo estar más de acuerdo con tigo, hay que capturar cada momento de la vida con esa o esas personas especiales y amadas, que se graven en la memoria y la retina❤
I have always loved this song. It has been covered by many people, yet it never became a big hit. This version is pure class, too sophisticated for this world we're living in right now! Just a minor personal criticism about this edit: I miss the fading rimshots at the end, because they remind me of 1985. :)
' too sophisticated for the world we're living in now' .. pop culture has always had a treacle-top face , there is a lot of marvelous music being practiced now and the 'pop' end is but just but one genre of many..
The ever seductive Ferry! This is growing on me, it builds up nicely. I'm a huge Roxy fan, and now rediscovering Ferry solo. He's like Christopher Lee now!
Hearing this song for the first time. Bryan Ferry’s voice has changed but still remains beautiful and haunting. Absolutely adore this song. Terje needs more recognition.
I saw him in Toronto during the summer. AMAZING! I've been a fan since 2007 when I first heard his music. I couldn't believe how many songs he, and roxy music, has/have that I love!
