I think one thing never mentioned about Bryce is his toughness. The guy is the smallest dude in the league not a kicker and he was getting LIT UP constantly by grown men but he just kept getting back up. Dude is wayy tougher than ppl give him credit for.
I mean I get your point and it is a solid one. He does show toughness and he did get hit a lot. But in my personal opinion I think it's a little already understood. I think ppl are more focused on the things he hasn't been able to display they thought he would. But it's definitely not all on him. I think the mental toughness is more impressive than physical he kept showing up to win. He opened the door for the lsu kid I feel like lol
I love it how when a QB gets sacked a bunch and has 0 time to make plays we blame him and not the o line. You’re spot on give Bryce some legit blocks watch how he processes the game.
A lot of the blocking can be manipulated by the quarterback though. A smart quarterback steps and slides at all the right times making his line look better. A quarterback with poor pocket awareness can make his line look terrible.
@@duanecarter7954 if he has protection i think bryce will be much better. The new HC was able to turns Bakers career around so he'll improve and im not even a panther fan.
GM wanted Young the coach wanted CJ. The coach got fired for it and Panthers fans once again weren't shocked at that organization's decision that doomed them once again.
I’m hoping this upcoming season is better for him. I do feel like he’s got all the talent. He just needed to bulk up. The Panthers also need to get some guys in there to help him out. When Burrow went to the Bengals I was worried because I didn’t feel like he had a good O-line. He did end up getting hurt but what the Bengals did the next year was got some players in there to protect him better. The Panthers need to do for Bryce what the Bengals did for Burrow.
Matt, my brotha, it’s almost the end of may and WE STILL DONT HAVE YOUR POST SPRING TOP 25. We’re dying for the annual thirty minute rankings video. #mattbetwerkingforbryceyoung
several kids in the Carolinas are currently asking their parents "where's all the juice?"....several parents in the Carolinas "sorry kids...Bryce took all the juice!"
I’m a panthers fan but this franchise is low iq. Who trades their best receiver in hopes of helping their rookie quarterback? Then they let burns go when they could’ve just traded him instead to keep Moore
@@Zlics For real bro like who does that. Like when you are drafting a quarterback, you wanna make sure he at least have one good wide receiver and the Panthers failed big time
As a Lions and Panthers fan expect a huge step up the panthers paid robert hunt and damien lewis to fix their guard problems and Corbett will play center. Bradley Bozeman gave up 13 sacks last year at center and he’s gone. The panthers traded for diontae johnson, drafted Xavier Leggette, Jonathan Brooks and J’tavion Sanders. This team should win 7-8 games. The floor of the team is 7 wins and the ceiling is probably a 9-9 season. Also let’s not forget the saints have derek carr signed for a long time and he’s not good neither is their offense.
Agreed! I feel real optimistic that the Panther will score points this year. I'm a little more concerned about how many that will let the other team score
Crazy transformation for sure! But Matt on a different QB in college .... What's up with this quarterback lawsuit at Florida? Hope to see 👀 your breakdown of that mess ! Love your content keep getting it white Randy Moss keep getting it bruh !!!!💪
People seem to forget the season the two Manings had when they first got in the league.Without the right support, their father neither would have lasted more the two years.
I hope Bryce doesn’t suffer from the Bama effect. I wont say he isnt good, but hard to judge a qb coming from Bama. It’s not hard to look great at Bama when your team is grossly overtalented then 95% of the teams you play. Mac Jones comes to mind.
1:36 it was Frank Reich pretty self explanatory he did it for the money and he wanted Stroud actually but Tepper wanted Young and the GM at the Time Scott Fitterer(Yes Man who traded away CMC,Moore)
Took more sacks than other Rookie QBs with a oline that had more holes than swiss cheese and still played just about every game, so proved size was over talked
Youngs sizes wasn't the problem. No matter how big or tall you are if you have no O line to block for you. And no deep threat receiver. Or even a good receiver to throw to. Then throw in no running backs either. What did you expect. Football is a team sport. It takes all the players, offense and defense to win games.
His problem was more the offense as a whole, since it was based on slow developing routes and made the o line block in ways they didn’t normally excel at (run blockers spending most of their time in pass protection)… which put Bryce under a lot of pressure. Seeing and throwing to the midfield is oddly one of his better traits.
It’s not just about him being small, it’s about how he projects himself. He comes off as timid to me. Like he doesn’t have any dog in him. Not saying that he doesn’t, his body language and demeanor just makes him seem soft and not confident. He seems like a great dude though not trying to badmouth him.
I don't mind Matt giving his sincere opinions, but I think he badly whiffed on a couple of points: #1 as slight as Bryce was, he took a relentless, incredible pounding and jumped right up pretty much every time (I agree that the Panther should have benched him to protect him a little in some of those games. #2 He neglects to credit the Panthers organization for doing everything possible to upgrade the team with so little capital. A very formidable, vastly improved O-line. And a lot of very promising help in the receivers room. Also, a promising running back. They both gave Bryce protection and targets, and also created the conditions to have an upgraded running game, which takes some of the pressure off Bryce. OK, little bit of a fanboy here perhaps suffering from delusional, off-season optimism. But I think they are going to win some games this year.
It's called performance enhancing drugs. It was rampant when I played college ball 10 years ago so I know for a fact it is unreal on the professional level
I've been watching bryce since he played for the Oregon little league team. I accidentally found him looking for the college team highlights. But even then I knew he was better than his pears. So that was a happy accident. Then he committed to my favorite team Alabama. ROLL FUCKING TIDE!! To top it all off my favorite NFL team THE CAROLINA PANTHERS chose him number 1. I'm not going to give up on him after 1 year with the worst O-Line in the league. You gotta give guys some time to get their feet in the water.
The problem is, it don’t matter how much size he puts on? Between Tepper and the HC. That organization is doomed. They’re the new Commanders. We’re finally trending upwards🤞🏼Hopefully?
His neck would be the tell, tell sign if he’s using any testosterone related enhancements or PEDs. Not saying he is, but there should be no shock if he is doing so. The NFL is as bad if not worse than baseball, but it is not spoken on as much because of the revenue generation per individual player in each sport and other factors. I will say his left arm only shows more definition, but that feature can easily be manipulated using any basic photo editing app.
I’ll be honest Bryce looked slow getting out of the pocket a lot last year idk how weight gain gone help but the Oline is better and we have more weapons
I fw Bryce young but he excuses were kinda insane this year at no point did he show flashes exept the packers game he has no line but still he takes too many sacks bc he can’t stand tall in condensed Pockets he isn’t a amazing Justin feilds type athlete so he can get away with some bad habits I’m hoping the best for him but I don’t see his team get any better and
