You are one of the honest reviewer on RU-vid, when I test ride this bike I was totally surprised by its weight management it is light motorcycle unless & until you fall it on your leg😀
Hi, first of all, I loved the detailed explanation of the BS6 Himalayan. I have recently ridden a BS4 Himalayan and what I felt is that the brakes definitely needed improvement on the BS6 variant. Especially the front brake because the 300mm rotor does not do justice to the almost 200-kilogram weight of the motorcycle. Moreover, just like what you said the ABS of the Himalayan is too intrusive which I feel is a little concerning especially while riding at high speeds on the highway and there is a need for panic braking. However, without a doubt, the Himalayan is the most comfortable budget tourer available in the market today, and although it lacks power the torque delivery at lower RPM makes up for it. What makes me happy is the fact that RE has improved the clutch action on the Himalayan because the clutch action felt too tight on the BS4 version especially while you are riding within the City.
I have a himalayan bs6. Bought it on sept 17th Cloked 22k kms on it( all on long trips) No city usage. Here are some points. Firstly, it has a long stroke engine. Very long infact and a grt grt highway cruisability(i dont go more thn 90kmph) It is not like ktm s, which has very rough engine and a very very bad drive. It has a very long trAvel ..soft suspension setup, which is exceptional....i mean BEST.The rear linked suspension is just 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓 In ktm the ride is very stiff, u get fatigue and body pains. The exhaust has a very good rumble...and a sweet melody on highways In short, the himalayan is just like a bmw gs1250. ...which unlike honda africa twins and ktm super adv s is not perfect, but has a character of its own. The himalayan just like the Gs has a character, which is lacking in its rivals.
Such detailed points that covers everything. So crisp and neatly explained and there is something satisfying about your reviews. Subscribed! Im confused between this and the highness cb350. What would you recommend for city commute and a bit of touring ? Which is better in terms of pickup and over taking ability?
Thanks a ton! I would pick the new CB350RS, it has a more engaging riders triangle and will still be reasonably comfortable inside the city and even out on the highway. The Himalayan would come into the picture only if the roads are really bad, and if I would ride around such places often. We will add the CB350RS ride review soon, meanwhile you can watch our H'ness CB350 videos.
@@SHIFTINGGEARScom Yup. Saw all your highness reviews. Im Amazed and I can see there is a lot off time and effort put into each review as the quality speaks. I won't be doing much off road with the himalayan, just looking to enjoy rides that is more fun. Can you please give more clarity in terms of power delivery of both the bikes? Basically which has better over taking ability and throttle response. I don't mind the tall gearing on the highness.
At any given point of time even Bajaj CT100 is more reliable and logically better in terms of quality, value for money, durability, service cost, ease of maintenance and you can name anything... Even at BS6 the cone set rusting problem, broken chassis, discoloration of exhaust pipe from day one will haunt you everyday. Bare minimum quality RE can't provide even after charging premium....
