Perhaps things were looking a little too good. If so, this discovery certainly made up for any early optimism regarding this job.

I gather that problem as not unheard of during this period - hence the belt & braces approach for the famous immediately post war models.

Oh dear, there's a Scottish engineering term for that fault but it not repeatable here. 😉 This may take a bit of head scratching.

It is supposed to be rivetted, but they had started to work loose.
