BSA 350 cc Model L engine circa 1930 strip and rebuild 5 Timing side flywheel repair discussed. 

After some thought, I re-rivetted the timing side mainshaft rivets to give a tight and true fit for the timing side mainshaft in the flywheel once more, but I also intended to let some bearing fitting compound find it's way into any areas between the two where there might have been a tiny clearance, as a bit of insurance.
