Great honest video jake , it's a shame that a company like bsa aren't giving more attention to detail ie standard dovetail and a decent crown would be a good start. Looking forward to seeing how it shoots when you've added you're magic .

The stick I got for suggesting the stock fixing bolt hole was in the wrong place on the ultra clx 😆 Now it's been moved exactly where I said it should be. 🤔 Monitor how quickly the pellet probe gets eaten by the tension on the magazine when retracting/cocking , it'll start shaving softer pellets and the blow by of the probe oring blasts the shavings back into the block

Fantastic review! Are you going to be reviewing the AGT Vulcan 3? Would love to see you do a tear down of that. Getting a new rifle soon and it's between the Ghost or Vulcan3. Also, what rifle (sub12) do you personally keep/plink with most?

Have BSA ever produced a rifle that performs out the box, i don't think they have, had a BSA-R10 Mk 2 and took it straight from the shop and drove to John Bowkett's home and hand delivered it for him to work his magic it was a consistent accurate gun and one i enjoyed shooting but would i buy another BSA air rifle no i wouldn't. I will be looking forward to seeing what you can do with this as i do love the look of this rifle.

I'm quite interested to see how it compares to my old and tuned r10se. Which was a lovely gun and with a simple reg tune up gave 200 shoots to a fill. Accuracy was sub five pence at 48 yards.

I do like a BSA rifle, have an R10 and an Ultra CLX. Will be interesting to see what modifications you make to it, but that 13mm dovetail they use is a complete pita.

My BSA r10 th is good .I had a reaction too the plastic adjustable butt thing. After shooting for 30ish minutes my face got red and was slightly pain full like a shaving rash had to cover it in leather .I also had too heat the silencer part up as it was set rock hard with the factory grease .The rifle shoots really good much better than my old maverick and price is good too compared to others

That stock looks great mate, i really do like it, and i know you will get it sorted out, but from a customers point of view, the price your paying, you shouldnt have to do the things you do to them to get get them as should be, just my own personal thoughts on it Jeff, Cheers 👌👌👍👍👍👍

Good evening, I was looking forward to seeing this video but a little shocked at your findings, I’m not doubting you because you are obviously a very intelligent man and extremely knowledgeable and clever but I honestly think that this must be a dud… my R10s and R12s shoot like laser beams, I can’t comment on the other brands that you’ve worked on recently because I only have have 4 AirArms, 4 BSA’s and a HW100 but I would never ever ever swap either of them. I’m looking forward to see if you can improve the R12 because like I said you are very clever. All that said thanks for making the videos for us and sharing your thoughts. I wish I had your capabilities 👍

Thanks for the overview - looking forward to the series. Finding a carbon bottle with the right diameter is going to be a problem, although I agree it would have been nice and they could have done a deal with a company....that would have set the gun apart nicely. No mention of a bounce....is that carried over from the 10?

i had a go with a .22 when they were launched and though the stock was just right and the trigger felt comfortable and it was reasonably accurate for straight out of the box. i was more impressed with it than the brocock ghost which i found uncomfortable in the shoulder the trigger awful especially compared to my sniper xr ( i have tuned my xr a little though )

Bought one about a year ago , had a bit of difficulty finding a pellet that worked well , ended up with Baracuda FT's ( lights ) seemed to have got a bit more accurate as times gone on .. could that be the choke smoothing out with usage?? Who knows .. anyway its " ok - good " and your right , the AA Ultimate Sporter is better in a lot of respects .. liked the vid , good initial review .

😊I have one and had nothing but trouble with the magazines a lot of trouble I trued to contact Bsa very hard to contact any way sent the mags back they were a bit better but I still don’t like them very poor.I don’t like the adjustable comb why it’s black I don’t know I think it’s spoils the look of it.I don’t like the trigger I think it’s plastic for the price of it it’s poor and the steel bottle I don’t like it would be far better carbon fibre .mine does shoots spot on I haven’t checked the crown I do get a few flyers I think the problem is the mags .I watch all your bloggs on u tube and it’s good to get honest reviews not like most of tHe reviewers who also do reviews ie Andy’s Airguns big dans etc,I have been out and bought some of these air rifles and most are shite especially smiling imported models glad to see there is some honest people about and keep up the good work .regards and best wishes des

to be fair the one i shot down the range (long barrel) was pin accurate had a single shot loader and was firing the jsb shorts . don’t th k he had fannyed about with it . but he does tinker so he may have tweaked it i did not ask . certainly did not like the metal bottle but then he don’t like the carbon fibre ones . stick was absolutely stunning i thought 👍

Jake the valve return spring spacer. Is that the black part that sits in between the valve return spring and the regulator? What's the benefits on removing this? Cheers

It’s very hard to contact Bsa they make it very hard if you want spares you have to ring john knibbs Since they sold out to the Spanishthey have gone to the dogs no customer support as I say I’ve had nothing but trouble with the mags I do get a few flyers due to mag but it’s very accurate with rws supercomputer field line .some pellets I have tried are very hard to put in mag I think if they got the mags right and put a carbon bottle it would be ok.

Would it be possible to mill off the dovetail in order to add on a picatinny rail instead?

Had 2 R10se s 😉 the improved model from the R 10, and they were a total let down inconsistent accuracy and magazine jams 😔 Watched the release and the raving reviews for the R12 🙄from some of the you tubers . I thought 🤔 well maybe BSA have sorted out the magazine problems and the reg issues . 😔 But no same old thing release a new improved model with the same old problems 😔😔. I feel so sorry for the people who purchased these rifles 😔 And now I look at quite a few you tubers who sang the praises of BSA R12 and wonder why they didn’t do a honest review 🤔 BSA management just don’t seem to care about the products they produce , BSA rifles are not fit for purpose, time and again they release faulty products 😔

Just would like to ask why you shoot at 50 yards. You seem a switched on guy a probably understand dispersion. I personally don’t see any benefits or pleasure putting a sub 12 rifle out to test at anything really beyond 30 / 35 yards, be it hunting or target. Shooting indoors just leaves you three variables to work with, pellet, Gun and the shooter, gravity is a constant. From my testing, pellet weight difference from the same tin has absolutely no effect on accuracy. Putting pellets through a sizer makes no difference to accuracy but it does assist the pellets loading smoother. I test at 8.5 yards indoors but can predict my results out to any distance. A group out at 50 yards with any reasonable gun and pellet would have a dispersion radius of 6mm at best out to 25+mm, but you need to shoot a sensible number for testing. 3 or 5 shot groups prove nothing, shoot between 20 / 59 shot groups and you will see the dispersion pattern for any particular rifle and pellet combo. Love your work on the guns.
