I find myself returning repeatedly to this performance. A wonderful combination of the vigorous and the noble in one hugely appealing "package". Congratulations to orchestra and conductor.
@@LRRMeloit’s a song about British Imperialism. The lyrics to the chorus are “Land of hope and glory, Mother of the free. How shall we extol thee, Who art born of thee. Wider, still and wider, Shall thy boundaries set. God, who made thee mighty, Make thee mightier yet! God, who made the mighty, Make mightier yet! I love the song for the record
oh, i know this piece very well, but i never heard of Elgar !! why ??? weird. this is so well played. i love it when music is played so clearly and artistically. when you can hear each instrument, but the orchestra is still one organism. 🎻🪄🎵🎺🎼🥁📯
Brilliant. I attended a concert in that hall 30 odd years ago. The acoustics, as I recall, were really good. This famous piece would have been fantastic in such a venue.
