Indeed and after sennas death in imola he then made a comeback to f1 where he shared the second Williams seat with David Coulthard and he went on to win the f1 season finale At Australia which was the race where Schumacher won his first of 7 f1 titles
Best years of F1 are 1990 until 2010. I can't watch it now because it's not what it was. Same for Rallying, Superbikes and all motorsport. Sad really but it was good stuff for a few years. Only the TT is as good as it used to be.
@@thebrummierailenthusiasts5329 Aiden Millward said Mansell could have carried on driving for Williams for 1995. I think Mansell would have won 1995 in a Williams. Hill made too many mistakes.
It's an absolutely genius way to get some interest back into the final races of a settled season, would be great to see the various racing bodies get together to let this sort of thing happen more easily.
@@kevinprior3549 Soper is British and given how badly Toca wanted to punish them, they agreed it was a "racing incident" to get off so they had made up. Cleland doesn't Like Tim Harvey though.
Nigel's fitness really was poor by this point, he was out of breath controlling the car before the impact. No wonder he could barely fit into the F1 cars in 1994 & 1995 I was there when he crashed..... great memories!
I think he just was pushing the car way over the limit. Mansell was always physical with cars. It was a combination of correcting the car like a single seater and taking far to many liberties.
@@jemimallah2591 yeah, a championship which had drivers in there mid 50’s racing like Andretti & Fitapaldi. The levels of fitness were not as high in Indycar at the time. Nigel struggled at the super speedways like Michigan.
I would tend to agree on his lack of fitness - when it comes to Touring Cars, which are waaaaay more physically demanding to drive than F1 or Indycars. Never one of my favorites, but I can respect his record and will to win. If only he hadn't whinged so much...
