I think Catherine is right. Even if he said it's for the ARMY, he could have also sung it for somebody in his personal life whom he doesn't really communicate with that much anymore. Either a friend or a significant other. We all know that idols are limited to what they can or cannot say so I don't think JK would be as blunt as to say 'yeah, it's for a specific girl' bc while BigHit /does/ allow them to date, they do that in secret. And while it may have been for ARMY, it could also apply to somebody else. And it's not us being delusional (as I saw in many comments), it's BTS growing up little by little and having more needs than just ARMY. Like having a significant other, a relationship, a family as they grow older. Their life couldn't and shouldn't be just ARMY. They develop feelings, crushes, they flirt, they get emotional, they have flings or relationships. They break up, they get broken-hearted and it's not always about the fans as much as they adore and love us. And yes, he did confirm it's for the ARMY but it could also apply to somebody else (someone personal and significant to him) that he couldn't exactly just reveal to the world.
