“More mature” “they grew up” 😂 this was more like their original sound than any of the pop stuff. Thanks for the reaction, keep going through more rap line stuff please.
exactly lol it sucks how their pop songs always go viral the most because their hip hop tracks have so much cadence and not many people know that side of bts :/
Actually, BTS started out more of a hip hop vibe first. Their older stuff are more hip hop heavy (not that they aren’t doing hip hop now because they still do). So hip hop are their roots. Then they slowly explored different genres and concepts as time went on and aren’t afraid to be experimental. I’m sure your friends would love more of their hip hop side and rapine side (especially cyphers 1-4). But great video! Keep em coming!
That's funny him saying they grew up, lol. They have been rapping that hard from day one. All three have solo work that is awesome. One of my favorites from the rap line is Tear live. You most definitely have to do that one. It was written by Suga when they were all talking about disbanding because things were very tough at the time. So it has very deep meaning to all of them. Suga read the lyrics to the members and they all cried. RM's part is Tear as in crying. Suga's is about Tear like tearing paper or clothes, tearing the group apart. J-Hope kind of puts them both together and also says Fear. All of the rap lines songs have pretty deep meanings because they were so heavily criticized by the Korean underground rappers and rappers in general. They also have explanation videos for their rap songs to better understand the meaning. And just to clarify, no hate at all, just helping you guys on your journey. RM didn't put the group together, it was "Hitman" Bang or Bang Si-hyuk. He selected the members. Also, J-Hope didn't rap until he joined BTS. If you guys really want to see how BTS was formed and see their journey, I would suggest you watch The Most Beautiful Life Goes On: Story Of BTS 2021 updated by Asian Theory. Even if you don't do a reaction to it, which you could do, ARMY would not mind at all, lol. You could at least watch it together on your own time. Thank you for the reaction. I knew you guys would like the rap line, lol 💜💜💜
does he know that the 2 were underground rappers? he thinks that they started as a pop group and now they grew up to do rap? Pls tell him its the other way around. They were all part of hiphop group first. BTS is different from Kpop, they were heavily Khiphop at first for like 2-3 years.
Y’all gotta react to the Cyphers it shows more of their skills like lyricism, Wordplay, Flow etc. Also I love you guys talk at the end it was so interesting, and the great points you made.

Can y’all please react to the BTS Room Live? Really shows their versatility!!! Also, how about some RnB b-sides??? Paradise, pied piper… still kind of pop-ish, but it gets more into their versatility too! It’s great to see y’all are open minded, and I’m also being introduced to other kpop and k-rap/k-rnb through watching your other reactions. Thank y’all for your hard work with your reaction youtube content ON TOP of your day work as well!!!
An interesting conversation to be had why is happy upbeat pop music seen as immature as opposed to hiphop or rap. Maybe it's the attitude portrayed during the songs. One of the images about BTS (especially because they are a boy band) is there is an idea from non-BTS fans that BTS is made for kids/teenagers only and adults should feel weird enjoying their music. But BTS versatility is insane sonically and lyrically. BTS don't need to curse every other word or constantly talk about sex to make an impression. They actually make music with important messages that people of all ages and backgrounds can relate to. I think of someone like Michael Jackson who also made pop music but incorporated so many genres and wasn't overly provocative with his music and he was/is loved by people of all ages, races, nationalities, and genders. The number of people who think BTS is a certain way like thinking they only make pop music is such a false statement and many don't even know they do have rappers that can actually rap. I would like people to explore more of their B-sides and solo work and not just their title tracks because those videos have a lot of views. It's actually pretty common for BTS fans to enjoy their B-sides more than the title tracks themselves.
Great comment.Yes, that did raise a flag when he said more 'mature' because they are rapping. However, the speaker did not seem to realise he was judging from preconceived notions and personal preference. And when he compared the feeling to ' taking a girl out and bringing her back when i want', it made me realise how wide spread sexual content in the music influences listeners and their thinking. ( anyway that's a different matter). However, the subject matter of the song is way deeper and hopefully it will invoke the feeling justice 😊 So again this is their own yardstick and it results from their own world experiences and limited catalogue exposure. I for one know a lot of rap is not mature and it depends on content. In all, my own hope is that people open their minds and also embrace different perspectives and elevate their thinking to grow. Whilst we all have preferences and use this to judge, we should also consider that it doesn't mean our preferences are world facts or the only truth. And for me this is what BTS does well and with excellence- raise your standards.
Truly appreciate the honesty y'all put out!! But will also say the Cypher 1-4 Ddaeng and outro tear live shows them shining with their flow lyricism and how well they play off each other's energy. The cyphers they used to address their haters which address them well they did
I haven’t watched the video yet so I don’t know if you mentioned it but I just wanna say DKDKTV’s explained video on this track changed my life💀 it’s so much more than a turn up song like talking about the way people misuse anger today when it’s a valid emotion that shouldn’t be wasted on petty shit that doesn’t matter, like the boys went IN🔥🔥
This is a great live of UGH but I hope ya'll also get to see the lyrics :) Also, I'm thinking that because the same people do both pop and hip hop shows exactly that pop isn't immature and hiphop is them doing more mature music... It's all music, just different genres. Both require skill and artistry :)
I agree, I don’t think it’s completely fair to label all pop music as immature or just for younger people, I mean Michael Jackson’s literally the king of pop and I don’t ever recall people saying his music was immature😂 it does come down to personal taste at the end of the day
@@jerseygirl6221 Thank you, I was about to comment this too, pop or hip-hop are just music genres. It's anger me sometimes when I see or hear those kind of stereotypes.
This song mainly about the *philosophy of Anger and Hatred and how it's used in society today* , the good and the bad (protests for rights type of hatred vs internet trolls for example)
Haha, this is more like the BTS of the past, which attracted all the old ARMY like me. I love rap and hip hop and their earlier discography drew me in because it was heavy on that. Today's pop sounds are fun to listen and bop to but it's the rap and hip hop vibes of their other songs that sticks the longest.
Ugh was released in 2020 and Yoongi said in a recent interview that their next album might have more hip hop tracks and today it was announced that bts would be working with a producer called TM88, he produces hip hop tracks for big hip hop acts such as nicki minaj, Travis Scott, and drake. You can go on his Twitter, he just announced that he is working with bts, he’s been trying to work with him for 3 years, he likes bts hip hop tracks and he always wanted to work with Yoongi.
And the meaning of this song is also amazing, hopefully you can also check the lyrics or video explanation. Just a quick background of the song, its about how anger is being wasted as most people use it for useless stuff, like spreading hate online instead of being angry at things like racism, poverty, corruption etc. BTS are great performers but one more reason why they are loved by many is because of the substance on the lyrics they put out. Most of their rap songs are deep, unlike most rap songs that talks about sex and drugs.
They started with this sound 😂😭 Also, the lyrics of this track SLAP It's a shame they haven't been able to perform with a live/present audience, their energy goes even higher with a present audience, this song is gonna be INSANE HYPE on concert, believe me
Really loved u guys reactions and the feedback, can’t wait to see more of the rapline reactions in the near future. Although, I kinda wished u guys gave a little more feedback on RM like u did with Suga and JHope. Anyways really good video.
Yes I'm waiting for BTS live performance reaction 💜 How about the Cypher 3 or 4 live and outro tear live performance and bts medley performance too guys please 😍 Hope you can react to it Really like your honest reaction and your conversations with your friends 💪
Jhope was a street dancer, he was part of an underground dance group called Neuron. He didn't really rap before joining BigHit. Jhope is indeed one of a great rapper in the industry. People been sleeping on him. Glad u guys r woke 👌🏻😆 For Jimin, he was a contemporary dancer. Well, I'd say that kinda dance is quite like ballet, but not really ballet. And JK, it was the other way round, it wasn't RM that picked him to be in the group, it was JK that chose to be in the group bcoz of RM.
Hmm, actually "before joining BTS" is not exactly the right phrase. He already rap in his trainee days since the trainees at that time were mostly rappers (including Supreme Boi also). Afaik, JHope is the 3rd trainee who joined with Bighit. He joined as main dancer and vocalist. Since the trainees always dropped freestyle rap in every occasion in their dorm, JHope learned to rap from them. Bighit wanted to set him up as vocalist and V as rapper. But, V wanted to be a vocalist, so JHope chose rapper position. This is the reason why Jhope as lead rapper is also a sub vocalist. Yes, he learned to rap in his trainee days, not originally rapper from underground hip hop, but he already rap for almost 10 years. He is one of the best among rappers in the industry. You're right, people been sleeping on him and always brag about him not being a rapper before join Bighit......
It really baffles me how fans decided to nickname Jimin as "contemporary dancer" when he only studied contemporary for about a year and has been dancing hip-hop underground for about 5 years before that. He was competing in hip-hop battles (and winning against literally dance teachers), he was creating choreos, he was a prodigy already before ever joining BigHit. Not to mention, BTS members (including J-Hope) named him their "hip-hop guy" when it comes to dance number of times. Jimin is the most versatile dancer in the whole industry, but his own fandom never acknowledges that 😐
@@lightefilit wow, this is the first time, i know it. Maybe, rather than "Never ackowledge", it's more to "don't know about it", because famous footage / information about Jimin before join BH, is he learned contemporary dance in Busan Art School.
thankz for this im enjoying it mayhaps much more than i maself thought😆 that discussion/commentary after the song was nice to hear👍 hope to see more soon✌
Yep that's the rap line of BTS!! Their lit 🔥💯 n handsome!! I can't wait until you guys go deep in to the lyrics and see what they are saying. It's all positive vibes. I'll wait for that mv lol.
I love the reactions and I have another rec outro: Tear. I love the song and the meaning behind(talking about the times when bts thought about disbanding) and also the live performance!!
When a person say they love j-hope and knowledge him as best rapper... I pay attention to that person cuz that person really know what he talking abt... Cuz j-hope is one hell of mad rapper around. His rapping aint like other.... His flow and vibes in rapping is 🔥🔥🔥

You need to watch the DKDKTV explains UGH!. There is SO MUCH world play and cultural references. This is actually a really deep lyrical song... that also happens to hit hard as hell.
Due to the pandemic, we still haven't seen BTS do Ugh! with a live audience. This performance was live streamed, with no audience present. It was a great performance, but I fully expect them to be even better when they finally get to rap this in front of 50,000 ARMY fans. The rap line is electric when they perform live. Some of their most iconic live performances are for Outro:Tear and Cypher Medley.
Thank you for this reaction guys! I hope you can watch DKDKTV’s explained by a Korean video for Ugh because the message needs to be heard and there’s so much wordplay in that’s hard to understand unless you speak Korean or know some of their culture.
Just found your channel. Watched 3 reactions so far and I subscribed solely because of how respectful you guys are towards Bangtan 💜 Thank you for that. Will binge watch more of your BTS reactions. I hope you react to their CYPHER MEDLEY LIVE and more of BTS LIVE
This is my favorite BTS song. The lyrics are so meaningful. They are talking about how useless anger burns up real anger and only causes harm where if real anger was used correctly it could change the world.
At 52 I didn’t think I’d ever love rap so much 😂. I love Ugh! And Ddaeng, and ‘Tear Outro’, RM’s ‘Joke’ and ‘Do You’ and Suga has some songs under the name ‘Agust D’ that are brilliant.
Although,I wanted to add that it seem kind of wasted not to have shown them the lyric video ahead of time. To let the crew see what great lyricists they are. Albeit, I am glad they love this song, I can't help but feel that they didn't get the full benefit of appreciating this song....the meaning behind it is not just towards the haters but to the misuse of the emotion anger itself. So if you can show them the DKDKTV explanation of the song, I think it would allow them to understand the depth of the song and it's more skin deep. I'm not a big rap fan but this is one of my favorite rap songs.
Come back home is a good older BTS song. People only see the pop songs and they think that's all BTS is but they've been around since 2013 they have such a huge diversity. Their whole albums have different genres within them and unless y'all really dive deep into BTS y'all will only see the surface of who is BTS. They tell a story through their songs and albums that are connected.
Considering the group was formed around RM, SUGA, and j-hope, their foundation is hip hop and they've always been able to spit grown up bars. hehe You can see their skills grow in the Cyphers. I also recommend these defining rap-dominant performances for you guys: Cypher Medley ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FT930XF1vzA.html Outro: Tear live aka "the one in bespoke Dior" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UJSDI8iYh6Y.html Hip Hop Phile/Lover live on Red Bullet Tour ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a_3KCRAYAFQ.html Cover of Seo Taiji and Boys - Come Back Home ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6dYxgPGfjkg.html Hope you like them!
BTS is originally a hiphop group. This is their first genre. I just wish you could listen and know the lyrics, coz they've got the best lyricism specially CYPHERS 1, 2, 3 and 4
From the beginning BTS were great, I love when they were more rap and trap, for me that was their essence, but commercially they reached more public with songs that would reach more all kinds of people to get to where they are, but that's not take away their preparation and sacrifice to be the first in the ranking, the development of their talents have become unique and this is analyzed by experts in sounds, music, voice and choreography: for me they are extraordinary and the other kpop singers have seen in their way of making music that a door will open for them through BTS, and now they praise it and hold it high, because they earned it and proved to everyone that they are the kings of kpop and well deserved for their great sacrifice to be who they are now
New-ish account and came back to a lot of close minded reactors but most are until the BTS effect hits them… if it does at all. Thank god I saw Lo on 4pm’s Channel. Gonna binge all your Kpop! Borahae 💜🫰💜 Lo! I saw that eye roll! 💀
All BTS’ rap/hip hop have amazing lyrics. There is another bootleg copy of this performance that did have English lyrics added to it. You’d love UGH with subs.
The guy in the right with glasses don't understend bts, he said it's more mature🙄(bullshit he don't read the lyrics of there songs) he just like rap music that it 😢💔
@@ladym7547 he literally say this song is more "MATURE", there is nothing wrong to like only rap songs or hip-hop but, not because it's not your cup of tea that it's considered immature. Pop or hip-hop are just music genres. It's just a matter of taste. It's already widely known that bts musics have deep meaning in their pop as well as in their hiphop musics, not easy to understand unless you're matured enough so what the original comment makes sense he didn't even read the lyrics and already categorize this song as more mature than the others.
Lol, I love how aggressive/ turnt y'all felt because it's meant to provoke thought & feelings. If you only spoke upon the social commentary of it! Plz check out the lyrics & DKDKTV's "UGH! Explained"!! I feel the guys would like alot of tracks from the School Trilogy/ Dark & Wild albums.
