my look on it is that the past 9 years and even now they are called the best. they win countless trophies and awards but they don't feel like that's what makes them the best. their true love for music and for each other/army is what really keeps them going. don't worry lol! i honestly don't think this is a goodbye song. It feels more like theyre opening a new chapter of music and just everything in general. they're telling us that yeah, their past music and content might be incredible and will always be iconic but its what comes next for them and their music/projects with each other that make them excited about everything. plus, this is an anthology album so its almost looking back on their old stuff and going like, "wow, look what we did and look what we are going to do in the future." just my take on it :) loved the reaction!

This song had me balling. I feel like they are closing out their childhood and moving into grown men. I can't wait for their next chapter. They said they want to make music as long as they have the love. So the trophies and accolades aren't their driving force its ARMY and music and as long as they have that the best is yet to come.

For me, the song feels like a goodbye and a beginning. Goodbye to their previous chapter. The era where they were trying so hard to prove something and make a mark in the industry. It is also the beginning of a new chapter where they have already made their mark and achieve so many accolades. They are already the best and yet, there is still more to expect from them. the meaning of the song is looking back onto the past and recognising the beautiful moments that they've shared with eachother and army but also recognising that their most beautiful moment hasn't happened yet because there is still so much more to come. they're saying goodbye to the first chapter of their career (9-10 years) and moving into a new era. bighit & the members themselves said this in the comeback announcement & the album notes that this album is to show them moving onto a new chapter of bts which is why it's an anthology that looks back at some of their most iconic & emotional tracks. in the song, they're also reiterating that all the fame & trophies are not what matter to them, it's the art & the fans that matter. they also mention a few times that even though they've achieved a lot, they're still the same/haven't changed from who they originally were. this is because they have the same dreams & the same messages & sentiments and they still love music.🫂💜

I thought it felt like goodbye the first time I listened also, but then I realized...Proof is an anthology so they're really just closing out a chapter so they can move forward and possibly free themselves a bit. I saw this as them saying goodbye to all of the past eras so that they can move forward into a new era. They’re leaving behind all of the hardships and moving forward to their most beautiful moment in life. It’s a goodbye, but only to their past. They’re moving on but they aren’t going anywhere 💜

I think their actual selves (all in white) are watching their past selves (dressed similarly to past MV) reliving their old MV (Sprng Day, Run, No more dream, etc are referenced throughout). I think the message is we loved our past, we acknowledge it but we have more mountains to conquer, on our own terms and with the intentions we had when we first started (as can be seen with them boarding the yellow bus that figured prominently in their first ever MV). Basically they are saying we are not done, our desire to do music is still as pure as when we were kids. Yeah we accomplished all those great things but we are not finished yet. And I agree with you the song left me with a sense of nostalgia, it may have something to do with their own doubst at what the immediate future holds since their military status is still being discussed.

Firstly I just wanted to say that JKs vocals are amazing and the lyricsare so poetic and beautiful. Secondly the MV itself has this calming effect (which also is emotional to me). I also love how they sing about how much they love music and doing eat they like. It's like they are looking back on the past and looking forward to the best that's "yet to come". Also there are references to past MVs including Springday, BST, no more dream aka the bus. I don't know why but this song is bringing tears to my eyes and I can't help but smile through out the whole thing and them wearing all white it's like they are angels singing to us (which in reality they are). I also love the melodic beat of the music as its so relaxing and calming. Also I love the message through the song that is the best moment is yet to come so keep doing what you love. Im In love with this song already and its now already one of my favs

It really is the end, but the end of a stage, of moments that were very good, when they are on the bus in the same position as another MV, they are calm, ready to face the future, because what is to come is better. Of course they will continue to do what they like, sing, dance, enjoy. They will continue to give us incredible moments and many more songs as a group and solo, they have already signed a seven-year contract. It is not the end, it is the beginning of a new stage. The entire video recalls iconic moments from other MVs that were once spectacular.

Jin's close-up reminds me of his close-up in Life Goes On. Instead of looking down & sad, he looks up and looks hopeful/happy.

I said the exact same thing! It feels like a goodbye song. It feels like they’re preparing us for when they have to enlist and they’re promising that they’ll return and they’ll be the same or even better then. When I first listened to it I thought it was everything I expected except that feeling. It was everything an anthology title track should be, reminiscent and hopeful. Yet I can’t shake that feeling of goodbye.

In retrospect, this song is actually very telling of the events that happened following the official air of this song. It’s bittersweet… 😭 But, as they say the best is yet to come so we’ll keep watching out for them. Let each of their soul shine when they go do their own respective projects.

The part at the end where they're all sitting inside the bus is as what the other comments already mentioned, a call back to a scene in Spring Day inside the train. But the difference is that in the Spring Day version, they were all sad...even the way hobi reached out to Jimin was for the purpose of comforting him. But in the YET TO COME version they are smiling, like they're at peace. And Hobi reaching out to Jimin this time was with a smile, a warm smile.

It feels like a goodbye song. At least for now. We all know they're going into the Korean army for 2 years, and they're going together. So I think this a love song for Army, and they're telling us even though they're going away for a while, they'll be back because they love music...and they love Army.

The bus is a symbol of travel. Their face expression of sadness especially when Jhope tapped Him in who gets very emotional. From their dark, gloomy and eeire past MVs, to very light and open scenes. It's a collection of all their past Mv, not just spring day, that they show the contrast in feelings. From singing #NoMoreDream to now, #YETTOCOME where it tells us to keep on, keep dreaming, keep walking. No matter how they are called the "BEST " they are 7 BOYS/MEN who loes Music. I feel as if it's a reflection of where they began, acknowledging the accolades they received. Letting us know it was music & ARMY that keeps them going. Yet to come is from an anthology album reminiscing about the past and how far they have come. Yes, it is nostalgic and about closing an important chapter in their life and starting a new one. The mv is full of references to their past mvs (requisites and clothes) and I am surprised you didn't catch those. Beginning when they are seated is a scene from Just One Day, the exact way they sat in the mv. The white suits remind me of the scene from Life goes on where they sat ln front of the empty concert chairs. RM is in front of the train waggon from Run. It has the exact same number. Jimin is walking towards a pair of shoes - Spring day scene where he holds a pair in his hands. Also V doing the rectangular shape is from Spring Day, but in the mv it was Jin. J-Hope in front of the train? Also reminiscant of Spring day where he sat on top if it. Jin holding his hands in front of V's eyes and the statue of Abraxas - that is Blood Sweat and Tears. If you think about it... military enlistment is due at the end of 2022 if not for all of them (in case they decide to go together), than at least Jin and maybe Suga. So, one way or another it does make sense to have an anthology album. As artists and grown men they are entering a new phase but they know their/our best moment is out there waiting for all of us.

To me, of course the details in the vid are all throwbacks/reminiscing their past BUT the freaking BUS! I think the bus holds the most significance. Theyre clearly getting back on the bus they first entered as a group back in 'No More Dream' (first song/mv). And perhaps also exiting with the same bus they first appeared in. Exiting to the next chapter except we dont know what that next chapter looks like. They also said "The past was honestly the best. But my best is what comes next": this could also mean literally just a diff chapter in their individual life. My take on this MV is that it is a reflection of the years leading to this point in time. Although those years were "the best" they believe that "the best is yet to come". All of theme will have to do their two year military obligation so the seven will not be together like they have been up til now. They have come a LONG WAY since their early days as hiip hop/rappers. They have morphed into something very beautiful in both sound and dance and especially their choreography which I believe is world class. All of them appear to be quite humble even after all their success which I find very refreshing.

I think "a graduation song" is about right. They're moving forward, into their adult phase. Nostalgia and sweet memories of their past but let's look forward to what comes next. They are always doing their best, so the past "best" is just that - past. Their future "best" is what matters to them now, though they'll never forget what they've gone through. I don't think it's sad at all - it's hopeful, even though they're saying goodbye to an important phase of their lives. We all grow up, grow older, have fond memories. But we can't live in the past. Tae was responding directly to critics who said that Bangtan lost they essence by recording songs in English. so "yes, the past was honestly the best, but my best is what comes next". To my understanding, Bangtan boys probably wants to express their art on their own terms. in this new chapter and powerful as they are now, I hope that it will become reality.

I think it's a lookback to their past before going to a new chapter. Honoring their past music, hardships & dreams when they were young. Acknowledging that they're past was the best and yet there is still a next best that is yet to come. Isn't there a saying, that when you succeed you have to pause and look back at your past, before you can move forward again to achieve more. If you listen to their other new song Run BTS it's saying they're gonna run again meaning they're moving forward, faster than ever before. So haters will just have to run after them.

this was like a live version of 'bulletproof: the eternal. their were references to all of their songs. they are telling us that the world dominating fame is not what they were after. they just wanted to be great singers. all the names they are called, idols, icons, phenome, super stars, these words are hard to comprehend for bts because they are still the young boys at heart who just loved music. i loved the last scene sitting on the bus, they are sitting in the same seats and j-hope taps jimin. this was the first scene of 'no more dreams. beautiful memories, we watched bts grow up literally.

i actually saw a lot of hope in the song, when i first heard it i felt like it was the most hopeful and joyous thing. it sounds like they are proud of the chapter they've just concluded in their teens and twenties, and embarking on the next chapter in their 30s... but it feels like they're very comfortable in their own skin now, at peace, and having gone full circle, they can just move forward purely with their love with music, without needing to worry about winning or getting noticed.

For me this song honors their journey when they went down that bus "too cool for school" . But yet it feels like a goodbye when they are all on the bus at the end like they will make a new journey of learning again ( School bus represents learning) but there's a promise of coming back again. There's so much to be said about this song, and this video! It's BTS saying goodbye to the past, and moving into the future. Everything was so well-thought out; from the lyrics, to the way the video was shot, to all of the references used! The line, "The past was honestly the best, but my best is what comes next", is clever wordplay -- the first use of "best" is colloquial, the second use is literal. These guys are so intelligent, and their storytelling is beyond that of any other artists I've ever seen! Though it's a heavy term for them, they're considered the best for a reason! Musically, visually, and stylistically, there's no one doing it the way BTS does it, and I'm not sure anyone else can. These seven guys share a love for music, art, and life, that allows them to create work in a way that's honestly, magical! It can't be replicated, only appreciated, and I'm excited for this new chapter!

As many times I’ve watched this video, I cried each time with this morning being the hardest because I’m feeling their hardships/sadness/happiness they faced and all their past memories of songs/videos they did and how far they’ve come. The last part on the bus, Spring Day!! They look so sad in the SD video whereas here they’re happy and smiling that after all these years they’ve endured it all and ready for what’s “Yet To Come.” The past meets the present. I don’t think BTS is saying good bye yes it got me in my tears. By referencing their MV BTS is thanking ARMY for the beautiful memories and also they’re acknowledging their success can be heavy because of all the “world expectations” BTS wants to remain humble and grounded as many of songs have suggested in Shadow and Black Swan they don’t want the negativity that can come with success to burn them out. Last summer they announced that they would be taking a break from performing as a group. But they would come back to performances. This turned out to be on account that the boys would have to do their military service, in some cases overdue. Currently Jin is doing his service, and Hobi will start soon, that is why the remaining boys are concentrating on solo ventures. However when they get back together in maybe 2025...... the best is yet to come.

Non-armys will never appreciate anything about this track. All the meaning behind the song and MV is for the Armys only. I am so in love with this song. I felt hopeful and thankful. The pat 9yrs may be the best. But what comea next will be the best for sure. Better than the 9yrs. Thejr 10th yr as a group since debut is after their festa, new chapter. I dont want to expect anything but i think there will be lots of changes. I dont want to think negative things. They always make us feel everythinf will be alright ✨💜

I love this song. I also love the imagery it brings back so many memories. They are not comfortable with every one saying they are they best. We all talk like they are done, What else they can achieve. But they are not in it for the trophies, they are still just kids with a dream that love music. So even thought the past has been the best, they have done things no one thought of, they still have their dream and love music so their best is in the future and they are not done yet. I am so happy.💜💜💜💜

I think "Yet to Come" is a perfect song before Jin or the whole group enlists in the military, in my opinion. And the new chapter they are pertaining to refers to their comeback as an entire group after serving in the military.

I agree with you. i think they are trying to tell us that they will start a new chapter maybe as a group or solo. the part where " yeah the past was honestly the best, BUT MY Best is what comes next" maybe they talk about the past as group bts was the best, but now as we know they start to focus on solo activity too. So they say but MY BEST what comes next" about their future career as an artist.

I think the song ”Yet to come" talks about the pandemic situation and they use all the sceneries of the songs they made during the pandemic. Also, they recomend to the world to have hope becase "it is going to be the best come". 💜💜💜💜💜💜 I love and enjoy this song the same way I heard Home, Life goes on, Butter, Permission to dance, You are my universe... Yet to come🎶💜

This song and video was so moving and to me the lyrics and the visuals speak to them letting it be known they are all about the music. Yes all the awards and accolades are great but it's the music and love for ARMY that drives them. They seemed so peaceful when back on that original bus so to me it seemed like that represented them now being at peace again and not let the heavy burden of global expectations negatively impact them. They are looking forward to continuing their musical journey wherever it will lead until the day they get winded aka become Bangtan GrandPapas. I am so excited to share this life journey with them and look forward to all the stages of their lives and career. BTSxARMY4LIFE, together forever 💜 🐳🙏

I could be wrong but I believe that this is the last BTS album in a while, which explains why this is an anthology album. They chose the songs that were most meaningful for them. They will be leaving for military training one by one. So in the mean time the members will work on solo projects. It will be a new chapter. Because of their love of music they won’t stop. The best is yet to come!!!!!

You're right it does feel like a goodbye in some ways. I think they are acknowledging the past (with all of the references) and looking forward to a new chapter. The song is beautiful and each of the references to past songs are so well done! I love this song!

My sentiments exactly DT! Feels like a prelude to something am sure. The messages are too clear, going from one stage, taking stock of everything that has happened to them, closing that chapter and moving on to better and bigger things. Another comeback is imminent before this year runs out. The song is just so emotional. These guys have worked hard to be where they are and even beyond... the best is yet to come....Bangtan and Army... forever!!!

I think that this song is a goodbye to the past eras and now on to new music from BTS and solo projects of the members. Hence the anthology album Proof.

I've had totally same feeling when I saw this MV for the first time. It was like good bye song to me, too. About lyrics, it seems like they accept their choices in the past were the best without regrets and they expect what comes next will also be the best in the future as the one in the past. So the best moment may be always yet to come. They will keep doing thier things as they always have no matter what other people say. :)

Bangtan is about feelings, about speaking out, about healing, forgiving, evolving, and they're doing it so well. DT you definitely get their concept.
