Thanks for being honest in your reactions - It can be hard with comparisons and cover works as we can be a bit prejudiced by the original (especially if you love the original song) I am glad that you weren't like other reactors - ie: pretending to like everything for clicks - I'd rather hear an honest reaction - even if I don't agree with it. I personally love this version (But I would love them singing my shopping list - to me they can't do wrong) - and again I am not a coldplay fan so I don't miss Chris Martin in the song. Their company makes them do nothing. They chose the song because it's an important song for them. Chris Martin praised it. They are sitting there doing nothing because what would you expect them to do? It's not their song which might have choreography to do, it isn't the type of song to dance to and they aren't playing the instruments. So what would you like them to do? They did what was appropriate for the song, sit and listen to the music until it's time to sing. Jin's voice is very strong, his range is insane so what about it do you not think is strong? He has a great vibrato and power that the others don't. It's why they work so well. He could have done a very high note but it wouldn't have worked at that point of the song. When you are being as faithful to a song that isn't yours, you have to adjust things. I believe that the keys were slightly adjusted because the guys sing in a higher pitch than Chris, so you have to allow differences. The other 3 are rappers, only one sings with any regularity so they aren't going to have the same quality as the 4 trained vocalists. If you get "slammed" it's because you aren't giving any clarification about WHY. You can not like it as much as Coldplay's version and that is perfectly valid. But when you are talking about vocal technique you should be able to give a clear argument for your point.

Wow. It’s amazing how people can watch the same thing and yet get completely different impressions. I am a huge Coldplay fan and I thought this was an absolutely beautiful rendition. But, of course, I don’t expect everyone to feel the same. Especially with music. I’ll be checking out more by BTS, however.
Hi Sharon! ARMYs very favorite thing is to direct new people to BTS songs they might love. They have a discography of over 250 songs and they are all different combinations of genres and colors. Ask *any* ARMY at any time for recommendations needed on your favorite, and you will get more than you can handle. 😂 Have fun! There's a saying in the fandom that you find BTS when you need them most. Their lyrics and sincerity have consoled millions of people and inspired them to think and learn. 💜
Of course, not everyone can force their own musical tastes and opinions. But ARMYs have seen it a lot. Discriminatory against this Asian boy band. The way prejudice is wrapped in the word preperence. My Coldplay songs are sung by your boy band? We even saw a German broadcaster expressing blasphemy. He said worse things and said he was never racist. I've seen a sort of common sense of such people here. Some idols in Korea were criticized by detractors for doing rock. People realize it's prejudice now, but at the time rock is real music and children have dollish biases made in the industry. Was there any prejudice that this Asian boy band was made and that they lacked musical skills?
Yes, BTS picked the song themselves. They said it brought them comfort during the pandemic and they are big Coldplay fans. It's kind of funny you mentioning Jin not being the strongest vocalist here because I've seen him get a lot of praise from this performance in particular as people will say the pink mic guy was great, but of course you're entitled to your opinion. Another interesting fact about Jin is he was scouted from Bighit (their music label) when getting off a bus while he was attending college where he was studying acting. So he had 0 singing and dancing experience when he joined Bighit Entertainment. Also keep in mind only 1 member speaks english fluently and 3 of them are rappers. I personally loved their cover of Fix You. And Chris Martin was spotted in South Korea and rumor has it he might be working with BTS on something, but again just a rumor. And I swear BTS are aging backwards but the youngest member is 23 and the oldest member is 28 and they will be celebrating their 8th anniversary as a group this June. Also BTS is releasing their 2nd fully english song/music video called Butter on May 21st.

@@BritPopsReact Yes, BTS discography is huge and also very versatile. One of the many reasons why I love them. I don't mind people sharing their honest opinions about BTS as long as they are respectful.
If you listen to this without comparison mindset, you will probably feel different. Of course the original is always better because you experienced that first and it’s already stuck in your mind. It’s a cover so you can’t expect it to be exactly like the original so that it defeats the whole purpose. I think this is the best cover of Fix You. Jin has been praised by many music critics and professionals so if you check out his solo songs, you will have a better understanding. He can give you the emotion that other singers couldn’t. Coldplay posted this on all their social media and said they loved it.
BTS really give justice to the rendition of this song and Jin gave out the feeling of the song.. He is the strongest among them.. Yes it is true that giving reaction to singers on particular song sang orginally by other singers is hard cause you have to compare with the original..but let us do the right justice..use our ears properly and speak the truth.. BTS cover of Fix You is the best..
Guys, it’s not me being “protective” of Jin or something, but like one has to be deaf to say “he’s not a strong vocalist”. His high note was insane, have you ever sung such a note? As a singer myself, it is very impressive. In my opinion, this cover was even higher in pitch than the original, and Chris Martin gets to those high notes in falsetto. Jin belted that amazingly, and even changed some notes in the “and I”, which in my opinion makes the melody even harder to sing (but that’s maybe because I’m too used to the original version). And not to mention his vibrato (belting and vibrato together is not an easy thing to do and sustain properly). Like I said, it’s not being protective or some bulls*it, but Jin objectively killed this performance, I don’t understand how someone could argue that he’s not a strong live vocalist 😅😅

They are amazing artists, singers, rappers, dancers, producers and songwriters. Each of them has unique talents, and they blend together perfectly. And they work really hard, constantly trying to better themselves. I recommend you to watch some of their live performances, some of their medleys of their most upbeat and hip hop songs, on stage they are something else 😉
jin was literally praised by the grammy panel as 'the vocalist with silver voice', not to mention he got praised by tons of music critics and professionals lol.

Same here but i reminded myself these are their opinions and they are entitled to it. But I've watched so many reactions to this performance by vocal coaches, and each of them were impressed with the boy's vocals, especially Jin's.
It is the first time that I see someone reacting to this cover and saying that Jin is not so "strong", I mean, everyone said (even those who don't know them well, but heard this song) that he was the most emotional that was the strong point of performance. And I'm sure there is no doubt that Jin did more than anything, always so emotional and delivered, perfectly matching the song. Although I didn't know the song before I heard this cover, it seemed like a perfect song to him. But well, everyone has a point of view.
I watched your reaction, and wanted to let you know the border of shadow fans at the bottom obscures your faces, and detracts from the viewers ability to see your expressions. BTS wanted to sing this song, as they said it has given them much comfort during the Covid 19 restrictions, and they wanted to share that comfort with others. They care a great deal about their fans, and the world around them. I hope you take the time to rewatch this performance, as well as listen to some of their many other songs. They offer songs in a wide variety of musical styles, and there are many videos that explain how these 7 young boys became the highly regarded musical artists, and upstanding young men they are today. In regards to your comments, I feel what you saw as nervousness was their strong emotional reaction to sharing this song, which has so much personal meaning, and the deep relationship they have with their fans. BTS broke up the lyrics to give each member the opportunity to partake in singing, while remaining as true to the original as possible. You may have felt another option would have been preferable, but the lyrics flowed smoothly from member to member. Their individual voices are beautiful, and their harmonies are amazing. You mentioned their youth. Yes, they are indeed young. They are now in their 20's. The group debuted in 2013. Their talent, confidence, and maturity has grown over the past 8 years. They were teens when they individually left their families, and moved to Seoul to live with strangers in order to train and become this music group. The youngest member has almost been away from his parents longer than he lived with them. He is currently 23 years old and joined the group in 2011. He has stated the other members raised him. The members all share a deep bond, and pretty much are a family. You mentioned singing abilities. Pointing out individual members as lesser singers came across as petty, although I am sure it was not meant in such a negative way, it did seem unnecessary. Opinions are personal beliefs, and differ greatly based on individual experiences. You may not like a certain voice or vocal style, while others may feel that same person was the standout voice that made the song great. You may find you get better response if you focus on phrasing comments in a more positive way, such as stating you prefer a specific voice, or that you feel someone is a better singer. Coldplay does not give permission to just anyone to perform their songs, and yet not only was BTS given the chance, Coldplay stated they felt BTS gave a beautiful performance. As the creators of the song, I feel their opinion should be highly regarded and respected. It is extremely hard to turn any song into an anthem with the crowd and band singing together, as you stated, when they obviously cannot have an audience. However, BTS successfully conveyed the support and emotion they feel in connection with this beautiful song. I am glad that, overall, we can agree that this song is a very meaningful classic no matter who sings it, and BTS did a great job covering it.
@stacy t Thank you for the very kind comment and for breaking it down into sections, so I will try and reply to each part. OK, the shadow border, got it, I think we need to sit up straight and that would fix the issue, we tend to lean forwards when we start to listen but we will address that. The breaking up the song, we thought it may be hard for each member to sign a small part and then come back in strong, also where the song builds it would have been nice if they all joined as one to bring the song up a level, but we are no experts, so don't listen to us. They all look incredibly young and we are just jealous. I think I also pointed out the young man on the end left and said he sounded wonderful, but no one mentioned that :) Yes, we also mentioned the other singer and maybe for our ears it was different not knowing them well enough. Correct and not many bands or artists would attempt a Coldplay song either. So we were impressed at that and also said that in our closing comments. We have just done another BTS reaction which will come soon and we get a better idea of what BTS are about, so come and check that reaction. I look forward to reading you comments from that one too.
I have no clue who Coldplay is. This is the first time I heard this song when BTS cover it and I thought it's beautiful. I think you're too biased to the fact that 7 people sang this song that you fail to appreciate that BTS actually pulled it off flawlessly. Also Jin do have a strong vocal. Anyway you don't have to force yourself to react to BTS or to like them. We prefer people who genuinely like them for who they are. Have a nice day

So this smells like arrogance over 'how can you not know the thing we know?' The world is bigger than the UK. I doubt Coldplay would endorse this sort of comment.
Jin was the highlight of the performance and if you will go to the comment section, you will see how he ate that performance. Maybe you should see bts discography and Jin's solo so you won't assume about his vocals. Also, he is the member that got a praise from Grammy panel. Listen to his solos.

Jin was the strongest vocally in this performance. I mean, I’ve been singing for a long time and although I’m not a professional I know a fair bit about technique, and Jin was exceptional in this particular performance. The comments made 0 sense. As if they are listening to something else entirely? They even spoke about when they all came together, but they literally never did.
Everyone has different opinions. Since I listened to the original song 1st, I like Jin's voice since he got that punch and power that kinda match the original feeling, in my opinion. Another thing is that he was the only one who sang in different styles throughout the song.

3 of the guys are rappers, so you saying that some of them were not as prominent in harmonies as others is quite valid but they actually provided that base low harmony Just for info there are 4 vocalists and 3 rappers in the group This is beautiful cover. I think if you know them well enough you will know during just the instrumentals that they were feeling the music. They did want to be their and they were feeling the music in their own way. Jin (pink mic) was actually one of my favorites singers for this song besides V (the last guy that sung). I am very proud of Jin because when he joined BTS he didn’t know how to sing and he has grown so much. I honestly think that he has one of the best voices. He has worked so hard at something that doesn’t come as naturally as him compared to the other singers. That is your own opinion though. He was able to express so much emotion and it’s amazing!!! I disagree with you. While this will not replace the original for me, I loved it. Jin’s vocals are NOT weak. I find his voice comes through really well in this song and the use of the rappers to carry the base came off really well. I actually found it transitioned very well but everyone has their own opinion and I respect that.

Actually he is a strong singer by himself. They tried to include the rappers in the song which is why you see the rappers singing with the vocals. They picked the song because they are cold play fans.
I do like diversity of opinion! For me Jin (pink mic guy) gave some needed "punch" to the song and ..well.. I'm just a bit Jin biased. I hope you do check out some more of their music NOT Dynamite necessarily as that is not typical of their music but perhaps ON Kinetic Manifesto, or Black Swan . Their most recent sung in Japanese Film Out is really lovely too- though the style is definitely for the Japanese market I would say. If you like rap check out Shadow by Suga or Baepsae live with subtitles. Always use subs. They truly do have something from every genre Dionysis is great too live with subs again or if you like more Latin flavour Airplane pt2. Ballads i would say Bulletproof the Eternal-subs needed or Love Yourself. Jin's Abyss is amazing tooo.

Maybe we are not very good at picking the rights songs to show who BTS really are, but we will react to more BTS soon.
What’s is bothering me is your reactions, I’m a big fan of Cold Play, I even have been in one of its concerts, Chris Martin is amazing but I have to say that Jin (the weekest vocalist in your opinion) did a better job singing it live than Chris Martin himself but as you said “this is just my opinion”. I haven’t managed to watch your whole reaction yet, but have read most the comments. As a Brit myself, as an ARMY, as someone who really likes FIX YOU... my thoughts after watching this performance when it was uploaded was that they did a very admirable job of covering it. RM can speak English most fluently, but I imagine all the other members worked very hard to get their pronunciations as good as they possibly could in time for the performance. I also imagine that they would have had the mindset of being respectful of the original song, of Coldplay, whilst also being mindful of how much this particular song means to so many people.
@1obsessionafteranother Hello and thank you for the comment, not sure if you got to the section where one of us happened to single "jin" (do they always use the same coloured microphones)? that just popped into my head as I wrote that. We received a bit of backlash and probably a lot or watchers may have stopped there and got on the keyboard to express displeasure. As we say we are trying to be honest and no fake reviews of clickbait faces. If they had watched to the end, we said it must have been difficult to sing that particular song which builds up and into an anthem, they were sitting down, singing live and doing it as acoustic version, we acknowledged that they did a great job and also it must have been hard to dissect that song into parts and try and come right in a sing your part exactly on point. We meant no hate or disrespect, We are still learning about BTS and would never have really sat down and checked them out to such n extent if we were not reacting to the song, we picked that one as we knew it and could have benchmark of what to expect. At the end of the day, we are no experts in anything and could not hold a tune, so who are we to say anything. We are having a bit of fun and hope that through us some other people may choose to watch our BTS reaction and enjoy something new. Hope that helps give some balance to how we thought it out, we could have just taken that comment out and said how wonderful it was, but then that's not what we are about either, there are plenty of those others out there. @@BritPopsReact About the microphones. Yes they use the same colored microphones. They might change their own personal color but not that often like J-Hope used to have a light blue mic and now he uses red and Jin has had a pink one for awhile but a couple of performances he had a white one. Suga has had black for awhile and so has V with green. But a majority of the time it's the same colored microphones.
@@BritPopsReact ok I watched it all and overall I think that what you said was fair enough. You can only give your opinion based on your impression, and it is what it is. I’ll admit it did sting a little bit when the rewind to and comment on Jin was made but I don’t believe that it came from a place of malice or even some kind of bias (as some other comment said). The reason it stung (but it’s ok i’m over it now) a little for me, is because as others have said, Jin really has come a long way from having zero experience in singing and dancing, and he worked so hard to get himself up to standard to the point of practicing on top of their full day’s practice schedules. Anyway compared to some of the truly nasty comments that BTS gets, yours are not that bad in comparison. I wouldn’t take the comments too much to heart. Perhaps try reacting to BTS NPR TINY DESK performance, they performed 3 songs and they were much more relaxed
I'm really pleased you reacted to BTS' cover! I'm a huge BTS fan (52, living in Texas) and had hoped that many people who never gave them a listen before might be drawn to listen to them cover this beloved & familiar song..... Personally I think y'all were dead wrong with most of your opinions on the vocals, but different strokes, etc, etc.... I'm still glad you gave BTS a shot, but hope you don't stop here. No artist can be appreciated fully via just one performance, ESPECIALLY a group as diversely talented (4 vocalists + 3 rappers = 7 professional-level dancers) as BTS, who sang this entire song in a language only one of them speaks. If you had no idea they didn't even speak English after listening to this, we at least have to give major props to them for the amount of practicing they had to do just to nail their impeccable English pronunciation. We have so far reacted to 4 BTS songs, but this one seems to have been the controversial one. We did also address that comment on the "Make it Right" reaction which is also available. It's always funny when people try to question BTS' vocal abilities. They are professionals of already 8 years. Not to mention, they are TOP TIER (literally the best) live performers. Of course they won't singe the same way the original was done, it's a cover after all, and they have their own vocal tones. There was no "unsure" or "weak" part anywhere whatsoever. And I'm telling you this as someone who was trained and used to sing :) P.S.: kind advice to note whenever you get into any new singers - just because YOU aren't used to their voice or tone, doesn't mean there is something wrong with it. Keep that in mind.
The crazy thing is Chris Martin himself gave them the permission to do this and also praised them for it. It pushed him to make a collab with BTS. Chris literally went to Korea to record their new song MY Universe. Lol

Their label acquired Scooter brauns Ithica holdings and named it HYBE USA(HYBE is BTSs label). Justin Bieber, Ariana grande,Carly Rae Jepsen , Demi lovato and a few other high profile artists are under HYBE now. Just last year HYBES revenue was 13 bill usd.( with just BTS,TXT,17,ENHYPHEN and Fromis_9). The next kpop label to make that cash was JYP with just 2 billion usd,followed by SM with 1,3 bill. So yeah. BTS is global. They sell out anywhere, Saudi Arabia,Russia,Tokyo,LA,New York , even London( they sold out 90k seats at we the Wembley for 3 nights. All under 20 mins).
Thank you for your honest reaction. Watching BTS cover Fix You was my first time hearing the song. I thought it was beautiful so I looked up Coldplay’s original video. It was epic and gave me the same goosebumps as hearing the BTS version! I think they did an amazing job. The meaning behind the song is beautifully sad but hopeful. Their company did not make them choose this song. The members are fans of Coldplay and even a couple of them attended their concert when they toured in Korea. They wanted to sing Fix You to provide comfort during these pandemic times. I hope you react to more of their songs!

It is not a happy song, it is emotional and BTS did a good job showing respect to the song....and Jin signing is very strong but it is not his or a BTS song so he did a great job considering that fact 💜
It's unfair to compare this version with coldplay's live arena version. Imagine what Chris Martin will do in this situation, no musical instruments to play, no audience to interact with. The most you can do is sit or stand. It would be awkward to jump or roll or do something else. The nature of group singer is such, when they sing one by one you will say it feels like song is cut, when only few of them sings to give desired continuation, they'll be criticized too. The same goes if coldplay try to sing BTS song, just imagine it

Fix You has been on the members Spotify list for ages and they had the respect to ask Coldplay first whether they could cover it! ☺️

Please read this if you have the time guys. See, why you might be confused about BTSs success is that it not the typical rise to fame. Most artist have a good hit and blast off from there right.?But BTS came from a bankrupt agency. They were trailblazers in a pop dominated industry. BTS started out as a hip hop group,that made songs about the troubles of Koreas youth,and the rotten aspects of society in general. And this resonated with a lot of people. They were real in their music,pouring their heart and soul into it. They were snuffed by corporations, racism, xenophobia,politicians and other media companies. Because they were so honest and relatable,their fans started to have an extremely strong bond with them. And as they didn’t have money(literally 4 employees), they only had their music,talent each other and their fan base to depend on. It took them 2 years to win a music show( they did with a storyline song about depression,suicide,mental health, vulnerability and power of youth), this would’ve only taken a mere few day or even weeks for a k pop group from a big corporation. They kept on their relatable nature , wrote songs about loving yourself and other. From there on they even made songs based upon Carl Jung’s “Map of the soul” theory( the most sold album of the year 2020 was literally “Map of the soul 7” by BTS) and it explores concepts like sin,mind,falling into the dark side….. I’m not exaggerating when I say that BTS are going to be legends( they only did this in 8 years,and they’ve signed on for 8 more). Now, BTS is literally the hottest ip in the music industry. 16 to 18 hrs a day dancing, sleepless nights writing and producing songs( they blogged the whole journey from way back in 2013.) Times magazine, Forbes already called them the Beetles of the 21st century back in 2017. Suga replied,”that’s a great honor,but no, we are BTS of the 21st century”. So the fans are VERY protective of them. Because that’s the ARMY culture. That’s what they’ve been doing from the start BTS had nothing. So they come off very overprotective. It spans religion,race,country,language and age. At the end of the day, BTS is not just appreciated for their music,but for their character as well. It might seem weird for people from the outside( and I can see why). At least watch some documentaries about BTS on your own time,and you’ll see why it’s a beautiful story of adversity,hard work,love, and brotherhood. Xcleste , Ida S has some and there’s an ongoing documentary series on RU-vid called “ rise of Bangttan” which explores their and the industry’s journey in detail. It’s still ongoing. We already appreciate that BTS are a Global success and they are everywhere, so it's not hard to miss them. We have done a few BTS reactions and enjoyed others, this one, was not for us one of their best but they still did a great job. Out of the 3 vocalists..... and I love them all, Jin is my favourite. He sings with his whole self and not just his voice. And he sings live just fine.
I knew Coldplay because of Gwyneth but never listened to their songs until BTS did the cover. I went to check coldplay’s original version. I would say, I like BTS version better because it is softer and it really feels more like a love song. I disagree with you saying Jin has the weakest vocals. I like his interpretation of the song the most.

The solo bit you criticized for being "not strong" was a well supported full belt of a note much higher on the spectrum than most men can sing. Y'all clearly don't know anything about singing or vocals....not to mention Chris Martin himself praised the cover...
I haven’t seen your full reaction but I have read through some of the comments. Obviously you have your own opinions but I thought I would just give some information. Please don’t take this negatively as I just want to give some background info :)) Three of them are rappers so may not be as strong as vocalists but they are all very talented and considering English is not there first language and only one of them (RM) is fluent I personally think they did amazing
@ItsSkye YOu are most welcome to leave such a nice comment and not judge on just what you may have read. If you watch the whole reaction and judge for yourself and watch to the end as we always do a summary of the song and we did say that we admired them for singing such a hard song which is a real anthem made for live audience participation in huge arenas, they also sang it live and in English and an acoustic version, so nowhere to hide behind heavy drums and guitars, and finally they broke those sing into pieces with each member only single a small part, so also very hard to find your way into the song. We said all of those things, but maybe a lot of viewers didn't make it to the end. We appreciate they all gave a strong performance and they are not all singers in their own right but come from hiphop. We do our thing which is to react and have some light hearted fun along the way and hope that some people may get to see other artists because of our reactions as we have done with BTS and Blackpink. We have had a lot of recommendations on what we should react to for another taste of BTS, we have reacted to Mic Drop and really liked that. Anyway, thanks for checking us out and maybe you will watch some of our reactions and enjoy.
I love BTS's version of Fix You because I know of their love and respect for Coldplay and that they kept a very respectful version of the original when, having composers and producers among them, they could have covered it differently but, paying homage, they wanted to respect the group's version original adding the harmony and nuance of their own voices, something that many of us as listeners and admirers appreciated.

Jin is an amazing vocalist in Korean but in english it's not their language so it hard for them to understand let alone sing but I get where ur coming from
@Ana Cruz Oh, please do not do any such thing. We always state the we are just giving our feedback and we have no expertise or even pretend to have. Our reactions are just a reaction to what we are watching for the first time. We did state at the end if you managed to get that far, that we did appreciate that it was a live acoustic version, which must have been very hard for them to do, also English is not their first language and they only got a small part of the song. That was our reaction to this song only and not BTS as a whole. We will be reacting to more and have done others if you have checked those out.
There is a reason Coldplay doesn't allow monetized covers but allowed and loved this one by a group not even singing in their own language. I think you kind of felt the need to defend Coldplay where this legendary song already met Coldplay's approval. You seemed to seek flaws rather than potential positives in a cover not meant to be a strict replication of Chis Martin, something which would have been impossible. Perhaps having seven Koreans who despite having rather diverse music are perpetually deemed a boy band be the ones to cover this work was a source of your angst. And that would be unfortunate. And as to the choice of song it was their as they adopted it as a source of comfort during lockdown.
@ERIC WEINMAN Thanks for the comment and not a rant. We were not trying to defend Coldplay at all, we just know how the Coldplay version goes and had something to compare with. We actually state they do a great job with all those things you mention at the end, maybe not everyone stayed to the end. The song is hard to cut into sections, sing as a live acoustic very and not in your own language, we said all of those things. It's also a massive song that builds up and as it made for the crowd to sing along with in a stadium. We address all the comments, many times over. We react so waht we see, but we have no influence or expertiese so our comments mean nothing anyway. It's interesting to know that Jin needs the least amount of backing track in their live performances, and he known as the most reliably in-tune of the four vocalists. He's definitely not a flashy singer, but he is talented. My recommendation for a good performance of his would be the live recording of 'Answer: Love Myself' to really appreciate his range. His first part is an entire verse in falsetto and then his next one he uses a completely different technique. If you decide to react, search for the one that has english subs because the original doesn't have them. It's also a really great song lyricaIly. I hope you give him another listen!

The one person you claimed was the weakest singer, Jin, had NO experience singing when he was picked up by Big Hit. It was JIN that loved the song, then Jimin, then the whole group. If you have 7 members, and know BTS , ALL 7 members sang, 3 rappers did NOT rap, they SANG! Ask Coldplay to sing a Korean song in their language?

I do not know what you are looking for in a song? Singing is about reaching to listeners' heart, not all about strength of a voice. Their approach is hormonic and comforting. If you want to be yelled at, go to a metal hotel. You are right, you are not trained!!!! You can't even sing "happy birthday", that says it all!

While I was watching your reactions and when you stated your opinion, which you are absolutely entitled too, I immediately thought, “whoops, going to piss some ARMY off” and sure enough you did as I read the comments. Please know, even though the majority of ARMY may disagree with you, we know BTS is not everyone’s “cup of tea”. I never heard of Coldplay or this song, simply because I did not listen to the current music of the time growing up, I loved Country. So, after listening to BTS I Googled Coldplay and watched them perform this song and enjoyed it. I loved the performance done by BTS and thought, hopefully, they did Coldplay and the British proud that the most popular, BTS, group in the world would do a cover of this song, which again I think was beautifully done. I am able to sing this song by BTS, in English, while driving in my car. I would love to see more reactions on BTS, just remember to turn on CC. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
@MamaBear Loves BTS Hi, and thank you for your very thoughful comment, yup we got some backlash and we could have easy taken out the comment in the edit, but we are trying to state that were are genuine with our reactions, but at the same time, who are we? we know nothing and our opinion counts for nothing. We are reacting to music we would never have though of sitting down to, with BTS, Blackpink, Nightwish, but at the same time, we have improved our knowledge, discovered some great songs and given our thoughts. We are not here to hate on anyone and we did acknowledge that it's a hard song to sing, it was live and acoustic and they only had a few lines each to get into it. You know when Coldplay do it, it's an anthem and this was more stripped back. We didn't hate it, and we will check out more BTS to give a balanced reaction, they have 230 songs to chose from. I haven't watched the video but I guess I already know what's going to happened, and I'm not going to be mad at you for saying that "Jin is the weakest out of all of them" because you guys don't know them as much as we do but the thing is we actually don't like it when people say something about their vocals that doesn't please or sounds good to our ears because a lot of people has been downgrading them for their vocals because of some stereotype that non-kpop fans gave to the kpop community like "they used a lot of auto-tune" or "they can't sing" thingy which is there's nothing wrong about that because BTS only used auto-tunes for artistic purposes and there is actually nothing wrong using auto-tunes(except when you listened to the song and everything in the song has a lot auto-tune and it is on the max) of course BTS is still affected to that stereotype and other kpop fandoms too are doing that to BTS, calling them out for their "horrible" vocals and of course about Jin, Jin literally has no experience in singing when he joined the group and he was casted while getting off a bus on his hometown and he actually wanted to be an actor, he is also an art and acting major and he is the first vocalist to join the group so he was having a hard to what he is supossed to do about his vocals and let me tell you Jin can literally do a triple high note, can hit a F5, F#5, C5, Eb5 and G5 note, also can hit some lower note which is still amaze me because he has a higher tone to his voice and of course their music is very diverse they do a lot of genre, they don't stick to the same concept everytime and BTS do a lot of high notes to their songs and the vocalists are the one's who's responsible for those especially Jin and Jimin (the one with the gold mic) but all of the vocalist can hit high notes and of course we have the rap line actually ARMYs really enjoy and became happy when the rap line sings because it is really a rare content that ARMYs all want because they kept saying that they can't sing which is not true because they clearly can. I hope I gave you some info about this and I'm very sorry for this lengthy comment.

So, here is our reply, please do watch the reaction and also take into account this is only our 3rd reaction to BTS, with Dynamite, we were not sure of, Mic Drop we really liked and Fix You because we know the original version. There was a comment about "Jin" which was just a reaction to what we were hearing on this particular song, not in general, we have not listened to hardly any of the 230 songs BTS have. Make it to the end of the reaction and we then give our summary to the complete song and we state how hard it must be to sing that song in English, when that is not your own language, to sing it live and acoustic and have only a small section of the song to get into it and a song that Coldplay sing as a song that builds and build to an anthem and is best for arenas. So, we didn't hate and we didn't put anyone down, we just gave an opinion and hey, we know nothing anyway. Everyone has different tastes. I will just let you guys know if you don’t already that three of these guys are rappers. Also only one of them speaks English, the others worked hard on their pronunciation for this performance. I’m sure there was a lot to think about, and the fact that they still performed like this was amazing. It’s not a typical cover. Also, Chris Martin is a legend. He mesmerizes everybody while performing this song. But if this were a live performance with fans, these guys would have 100 000+ ppl singing this song, holding up their own personal BTS ARMY bomb lol, and more if the stadium could hold them. They can’t be compared to anybody for performance and stage presence. I’d definitely suggest looking into it a little bit just to get a sense of it, bc it’s worth checking out!

They admire Coldplay, why this one song?... Only they know. I loved this, an others Coldplay performances, and I liked this. I think when you first listen or meet a new artist and you're not used to something e.g. Song broken into different parts, there's some uneasiness. I personally think bts do really well in this respect and I find it difficult to get bored with their songs and albums not only because of the melody and beats but because different voices gives change and interest. I can see why there are comments unhappy about pin pointing Jin as weak vocally. The thing is, you were saying you don't know music technically that well/not expert, then you're just like the rest of us and I'd not feel qualified to say that someone's vocal technique was poor without the ability to say why e.g. They were flat, breath unsupported, pushing too hard, too much air, larynx position, mic technique etc. Many of us watch a lot of vocal coach reactions and I've personally gotten much better at spotting not so strong parts which does happen sometimes with everyone - I find Jin sometimes pushes a bit much (he's my bias and I love him anyway for many reasons). In this case, I didn't think he was weak vocally. Maybe his voice just wasn't one you enjoyed with this song. Most army are fine with knowledgable criticism, or if someone can just say it's not their cup of tea. But it came across as a bit like you just singled him out and you didn't know what you were talking about as you didn't have facts to back out quite a harsh statement - especially the comment about someone not as strong in the harmonies as others was confusing as nearly all lines are paired harmonies with a singer and a rapper so it really just Jin and a lower singer. If you don't know, you don't know so why jump to conclusions like saying he's weak or nervous? To explain it better, would you speak about your friend or family member like that knowing they might see it or would you have chosen different words? Bts are like family to us.

You obviously know nothing about BTS music and about Jin, the guy with the Pink Mic , he's acclaimed as Grammy Silver voice...btw, he's one of the strongest BTS vocalist. While music experts, singing coaches praised Jin's singing ability you guys have a different opinion, we have to respect that.

First time seeing you guys reactions , just looking around yt for reactions of my guys , but yes , is different-from the original as is acover and they will convey their feelings of such beautiful song in their own diverse and beautiful voices; however, I understand that once you listening to the original is kinda get you biased, which is a beauty, and I get it, also been biased. When you hear their solo songs .. Esp. Jin. I'm bias wrecked by Jimin but I love Jin's head voice and high notes 💜 esp. in their Japanese tracks. I love each of their voice tone, much more V's & Jimin's 😍 Jin literally start from 0 about singing and dancing. Cuz all he wanted was to act before scouted by BigHit Entertainment (now HYBE). They haven't much reacted to BTS so they didn't know how versatile their music is and so how talented they are. Yes, do not pick on Jin, he is the only member who has started singing and dancing for the first time, after being chosen for his visuals. He has devoted his blood, sweat and tears in catching up with the other members and now performs brilliantly. So if you want love and support for your channel learn more about these amazing young men who you haven't even bothered to learn their names. I give your channel and reaction a thumbs 👎 And Jin is 28yrs old. Search and learn guys, you come across ignorant and arrogant! And be very careful saying negative things about any member of BTS, as they have the strongest Fandom in the world estimated at over 100 million.
That is a very short sighted view.... nobody picked on Jin!... it was a comment about that song and that moment that different people hear differently, we are far from haters. Have you watched our BTS and make it right video? ... we have just recorded another that we were very surprised with also. We have much love and support because we are two genuine reactors that go on musical journeys that we have never heard before and BTS are excellent, please don’t put us in the many other haters out there bracket. To be selected to be a musical group for just visuals alone must have been so hard for Jin, he has done remarkably well to achieve what he has within the group. Remember we are reactors to all sorts of music metal, pop, hip hop, r&b and so so many others so we react on our personal tastes, it’s fun for us to listen to new music. You obviously DO NOT KNOW BTS., and that’s ok. I’ve seen many, and I mean many reactors to this video, and you are one of 2 reactors that have disappointed me. FYI , what’s impressive to us ARMY in this video, is that 3 of those 7 singers you see in front of you, are rappers, and here they are harmonizing with the vocal line. Only 1 of the 7 is fluent in english. Jin ( the one you basically said didn’t impress you), got praised by practically every reactor, a lot of them were vocal coaches . But hey, this is your opinion, and you are entitled to it. Army thanks you for reacting to BTS. Maybe you should react to some of their own songs with captions , so you can appreciate the lyricism in the music, and their overall talent.

Training then debuting with bts 4-in conclusion for me bts are not Wawoo superb vocally but all them through Thiers career all this 8 years they learned a lots ,Thiers are for sure one of the most passionate hardworking artist/person that I had to know those last years. most important they use Thiers music/platform to convey meaningful messages especially for this new generation . in bts each members out of 7 had different tones of voices with wild ranges. They just need to work on it that what Thiers were doing ,cause as someone who is following them since 6 years(Army fan) I can see improvement especially since 2018 years they are getting better in term of vocals techniques and control.. 5- Bts are So Famous for Thiers talents hard work creativity but also for Thiers humble personality you can absolutely feel Thiers authenticity sincerity towards the music ،the Art..and fans even after years in industry , for Thiers important messages concepts that can be relatable resonate with many peoples from different backgrounds races ages genders ,they want their music to inspire change motivate people and spread positivity.,challenge societal stereotypes, they also tackle a lot of issues taboo that relate to anyone such as mental health, suicide, depression, addiction, abuse , anxiety, differences between the old and new young generation, corrupt , academic system nd teaching people about self love and self respect , self care. Social problems..some of Thiers work are inspired by many thinkers ,philosophical references...actually RM leader rappers love reading a lots and he sometimes recommend books to fans ,he is the one most fluent in English (fluent in Japanese as well),know for his inspirational speech
@mira pyaar Thank you for the comment, sorry just to be clear ,we did not say we did not love his tone and we do say at the end we really admired them all for taking on such a classic song in English, which is not their own language, they did it live and acoustic when it is a very big build up song made for arenas and they all had a small part each to sing which would have been hard to come right in and hit it exactly right. Maybe we are not quite used to Jin's style yet. As for our favourite singers, wow the list would be very long, with people from Luther Vandross, Whitney Houston, Prince, MJ to Liam & Noel Gallagher, Arianna Grande and one of the new Artists we have been introduced to Floor Jansen, we have a very mixed taste and lots of years and styles relate to. We now know that BTS have only one fluent English speaker in the group and they are also rappers and singers combined. And from all the additional information which we have read and will save they have achieved a lot. we have so far reacted to 3 songs from over 230 so we have no idea what we are talking about and are just a couple of guys reacting to songs. I feel you were looking at this with a typical western bias. Rather than praising the fact that ALL of the 4 lead vocalists killed the high parts and matched a voice as fantastic as Chris Martin (who I know is a bit of a British icon) you felt it “broke up” the performance too much. Just to note, the 3 signing the low end are all rappers, so just the fact you did not realize they don’t normally sing is a huge feat. Oh, and it is not their primary language, and only one member is fluent in English. BTS always highlights every member on group songs. There is no “star” like a lot of groups. Multiple vocal coaches and critics have praised their pitch accuracy in this as well, so again, your prejudice is showing saying they were a “bit off”. They all shine, and I think you missed a lot if you didn’t see that. Everyone has their own opinion.

It's obvious you 2 know nothing about #BTS, the member's strengths, or how their songs are selected. #HYBE/#BigHit does not make them perform songs, BTS has autonomy in what they perform. Furthermore, if you knew anything about #ColdPlay, they rarely if ever give permission for their songs to be covered by other groups. Cold Play and BTS are very close friends, and knew BTS would perform the Fix You cover brilliantly which they did, and Cold Play recognized their efforts. Many professional music critics praised this cover as well as BTS's performance. 💖🐨🐹🐿🐱🐥🐻🐰💜
Have to remember also only 1 guy out of 7 speaks English fluently. Nevertheless they are doing a Cold Play cover. However I think your reaction is fair. If you heard them sing in Korean their own native tongue, you wouldn’t wonder. Check out their Tiny Desk Video.

I will reserve judgement for later, but it does seem that you know nothing about the band and how being able to do covers work and that is a shame. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but if you are going to have a channel where you review things maybe take the time to learn more about your subjects. 3 of the 7 are rappers and don't usually sing, so for fans having them sing and harmonize was a treat. Really amazing. And Coldplay never let's anyone cover their songs, they got special permission for this performance. Chris Martin is a fan.

I remember how much I hated people covering the Beatles and then Joe Cocker did It and then I liked it and can see the songs as different entities. I think you gave this a well balanced reaction. I'm not a fan of BTS. I mean, I don't dislike them or anything, they're just not my cup of tea. I can certainly see WHY they're popular, they're definitely talented. I think they genuinely respected the song and were aiming for an understated performance, which is great, but for me, they held back a little too much. I reckon they've got more than that.
Okay, I waited till the end, and I am sure that my initial reaction to things you said was spot-on throughout. Here's what I think. You came into this with a bias, a patronising attitude, which affected your ability to hear the beauty that's there. For example, you mistook the unique timbre of the guy all the way on the left (Jimin) as nervousness. You dissed one of the most beautiful voices in the group, that of Jin. If you heard anybody off-key, it was probably V, who sometimes things slightly flat. But that is also part of his warm and bluesy bass timbre. I'm sorry that you reacted this way, instead of being fully open to what was performed. I'm going to check out your other few BTS reactions, before I decide whether to subscribe or not.
@Heather Quinn At least you are checking out some of our other reactions before making a decision, which is fair. The same as we have done with BTS too. No bias from us, just a genuine reaction to what we thought at the time and that was on a real first time hearing it, no fake reactions and pretending we have never heard it.. We gave a summary at the end and pointed out all the positives, about it being a live version and acoustic. I also know that I said about the far left singer(Jimin) that he sang really well, maybe you missed that part. We have replied to almost all the comments, good or bad and actually address some of those point is the latest BTS reaction(Make it Right) If your still not sure, it's OK, we won't be offended. Maybe try some of our other reactions out too, as we notice most don't even bother to check anything else out we do, but that's fine too. We are enjoying ourselves. @@BritPopsReact thanks for your thoughtful reply. I've checked out the other three BTS reactions, and was dismayed on some points in each of them. The most helpful one to me for understanding your bias was the Mic Drop reaction. You are coming at this group with a Western cynicism that doesn't fit what BTS is about. They are artistic, creative, famously hardworking (past what most Westerners would consider doing), funny, caring, and kind. Also, all of them are really really smart. And good writers, and producers too, in some cases. Though they chose Dynamite, they did not write it, which is uncharacteristic. Dynamite was chosen not just to cheer the world, but also to appeal to the American audience, because one of their goals was to get a Grammy nomination. Which they did. There's a lot of anti-Asian and anti-POC xenophobia and racism in the USA, especially with gatekeepers in the entertainment industries. If you go to their BangtanTV channel, and pick any dance practice, and listen to the squeak of their shoes on the floor, and see the effort they put into a practice, that will tell you a little bit that will be new to you. And it will change your view of both BTS and yourselves. Because of BTS's deep, complex, hopeful messaging throughout their entire discography, if you continue to listen to them, their music, both the sound and the lyrics, and the ebullience and determination in their performances and dance, will change how you think about yourselves, and what is possible in your own lives. The process is not a conscious one. Their effect on people is innocent and good, and accidental. Their goodness is so genuine that it flows out in everything they do, and people pick up on it without intending to. It's like walking out in interesting weather. Variable and real. I take the honesty in your reply as a signal that subscribing is right. I only discovered BTS about 20 months ago, and am still immersed in their music. It is that rich a source. Haven't had much time to listen or watch other artists since then. Besides their music productions, they have a self-produced variety show, and two animated character lines. They also had a game. They also have an educational division, for teaching Korean. The tiny agency they started with has now grown big, and recently changed its name from Big Hit Entertainment to HYBE, and it is now acquiring other agencies. BTS has more independence and agency than most musical artists either in the West or in Korea. Looming in their future is the certainty that they will have to do military service for 18 months. Because of their prestige, they were given an unrequested postponement for their military service start date. The only member who must serve, at first, will be the oldest, Jin. But it's expected that they will all enlist together, to synchronize their temporary absence from artistic activity. This puts pressure on BTS and their agency to make the most of their time before that happens. I personally believe this is one reason that they released the all-English single Dynamite, to step off a slower path for development of their American audience, and American music industry gatekeepers' acceptance. Honestly, pointing out an individual member and saying he is a lesser singer, in my opinion, is petty. We don’t do that in this fandom because we know how they’ve worked hard and continue to do so. All of their vocals are perfect but obviously you’re entitled to your own opinion.

We did say that it must be very hard for them as English is not their first language and also being an acoustic version AND only singing one line live would have been very difficult which we do also acknowledge. We enjoyed it and that was our very NON expert reaction as we do not pretend to know anything. We will reat to more BTS soon to get a much better understanding.

@Nikki Knack 😄 You can 100% tell your friend that we have no musical background, we are not being paid by other artists to diss the ones we are reacting to or can play "Fleur-de-lis" on a piano or Ukulele (that is not spelt how I thought it was) What we do have is access to a camera and some humour, if thats what your "friend" enjoys tell them to come along and join in.
