BTS HIDDEN MESSAGES?! | BTS - IDOL MV EXPLAINED! 

For Kore or whale that drawing by Jin, it's has a simple meaning coz Jin often said that he like a whale (you also can watch behind the scene when BTS make drawing for Idol MV, when Jin get asked why he pick to draw a kore, he said, he like Kore). Before he created LINE doll character named RJ (an Alpaca), he often use an item a kore character such as Tshirt, hat, pillow doll etc. And BTS also have connected with Kore/Whale after they make a song title "whalien 52", it's about a lonely whale that have different frequency with other whale, so 52 whale cant communicate with the other whale. Hence, 52 whale it called as a lonely whale. This is also described when BTS debuted, they often get looked down n get ignore by others coz they are still nobody and come from small company (in entertainment industry, people will treat an artist who come from big company n ignored artist from small company, especially if they are still new). You will understand after listen the song 😊 Until now, BTS are still using kore image to represent them but with purple colour. Coz purple is like represent BTS and Army colour.

During V live a fan had commented on V that glasses don't look good on him & Namjoon also received the same criticism except someone had said he looks ugly with filters. Jimin on the other hand gets a lot of hate for being too "feminine" So him confidently using a "fan" which is quite a "feminine object" says a lot about his " I don't give an f attitude" 😅 Jin too, notice his jeans? That confidently shows his knees? There's also a meaning behind that. Actually all of the details has meaning. The overly showing off their faces. The over use of CGI & greenscreen, the super bright color background, the cartoon characters since people say they are for kids. 12:57 they were definitely saying "talking" but it sounds so much like tokki that double entendre is possible. Bts is known to use bilingual double entendres. Especially RM, example in Dis-eas he uses korean 일 (reads as "ill" with soft L) means job or "one" with ill - to be sick, to be ill in English, and basically says that he "is ill with his job (workaholic) to be number one"

J-hope is wearing the Bugs Bunny sweater because people/haters told him he had big rabbit teeth. Suga is wearing the Snow White sweater because people talked about/ made fun of how pale he was. RM used the filters because people said he only looks cute using filters because he was ugly.

Jin's biggest controversy is that he has a big "you know what" lol

It's another reason why I love BTS so much. Everything they say and do has meaning. There's always multiple ways to interpretate things. It is a blast figuring out these things!

Part of the fun of diving into BTS is discovering the layers and layers of meaning in the lyrics. Yes, you can love the songs for the sounds or how is makes you feel. But if you want to dig deeper, there is a crazy amount of depth. Most of BTS lyrics are written by the rap line who are all extremely intelligent. I mean, RM is a literal genius.

Don't be hard on yourself. I'm sure some of these references were missed by Korean fans too. BTS uses so much word play and symbolism you would have to have a deep understanding of Korean language and culture to get. Also, BTS will intentionally use Korean words that sound like a different word in English but still fits the context. So if you heard "talking" being chanted its fine because it still goes along with what's being said in the verse. 💜

Representative of the genius of this group. A lot of K groups now who can sing and dance but this group has genius in their music, lyrics, and messaging.

Namjoon, Suga and J-hope (Rap line) ain't playing when it comes to songwriting and playing with words especially Namjoon! you may hear and see a word in their music and think "okay i know what that means" but when u do researchs about it, it'll blows ur mind cause it has so many different meanings and they're playing with that word. They have a song called "Ddaeng" which is a rap song only for the rap line and it was made by Namjoon. The word "Ddaeng" has 20 different meanings in the whole song! It has 8 different meanings in Namjoon's verse ALONE! It's so freaking crazy like i can actually write a whole article about only this one song. Namjoon is such an intelligent songwriter. You definitely should check it out.

10:38 This clip is from a dance practice for the song GoGo. They have 3(?) dance practices they released around Halloween, so they did them in costumes. GoGo, War of Hormone, and 21st Century Girl. The longer version of GoGo shows the rock, paper, scissors battle they waged to see who would be Snow White. Lol! It's one of the first videos I came across and I was confused. 😂 I thought Suga wearing a Snow White sweater was a reference to this dance practice until I saw what another poster said in one of the other comments here. They also mentioned Anpanman, which is another song.

Have more confidence! When we suggest "explained" videos its not to say that you didn't do a good job reacting the first time. They always get suggested after the connected video because it's impossible for you to have been able to pick up the cultural aspects! You're doing great! We like to see people learn about BTS through these videos, not know everything from the jump! And if we comment about something you missed, it's not to say you did a bad job reacting, there's just a LOT of suff going on and you won't pick everything up at once. That's what we're here for! 9:20 When it comes to the visual of Jimin standing out amoungst the other members. remember that this is just DKDKTVs interpretation, we have no way of knowing what this is truly meant to represent. I have never ever heard Jimin say or indicate that he doesn't "need" BTS and in fact recently stated, "I exist within BTS" (maybe it was a Suchwita episode), that's just how meaningful it is for him to be a member of the group with his brothers. Yes they are all individuals...and yes 5 years later they did all explore themselves as solo artists, but even during this solo era they have always introduced themself as _____ of BTS, so it feels wrong or strange to me to interpret this as any one member saying they don't need or want to be known as only themselves outside of the context of BTS.

While watching these types of videos, please remember that the creators don't have inside knowledge. From DKDKTV we get an interpretation from the perspective of a Korean, which is very helpful in understanding the language and cultural references. And DKDKTV is one of the more reliable channels when it comes to how much research they do. But some of the important things to remember is that BTS do not make their music videos themselves, in their solo projects they do get a lot of say in what goes into them, but in some group videos the members have admitted to not knowing what the video is about. It's good to get info from these videos, but they shouldn't be taken as a 100% meaning to the song or MVs. You have your own interpretation, which is your own personal way of connecting with what you hear and see, it's different from their interpretation, but that doesn't mean you're wrong either.

I keep recommending explaination mvs to reactors but they are resistant, yet they are part of the reason I fell in love with BTS ..... when I appreciated what an iceberg BTS is. As a non Korean only seeing the tip of the iceberg you are missing 70% of the most interesting creative talented group ever to exist. You are missing what makes them so different.

You are correct in that you can see new things in their mvs that you have not paid attention to before even when you have seen their mvs many times, and some times you discover them in the choreography video or in the behind the scenes video. When you are watching Spring Day mv that video has a lot of hidden meanings in it. Many are guessing it’s about the Sewol ferry disaster that happened in the morning of April 16 2014, there was a lot of criticism how the authorities acted after it happened. Many artists and celebrities donated to the victims to help them with some of the things that they need and also to their families that need help. If I remember correctly there was some celebrities that got fines and sanctions against them for help, and also it is rarely you here celebrities talk about this. I have seen one artist mentioned it, that is Zico from Block B that talked about it with a friend on a RU-vid show called Celeb bros. In this show you get to see two male celebrities do different things together, both V and Jungkook have four episodes with a friend in V case and another older artist with Jungkook that he had only meet on different music shows.

I love when they use sound alike words to rhyme. They will write the word one way and say it so that it sounds like another word in English or vice versa. In Blood Sweat and Tears, it sounds like they say money money money, but the Korean word is like mahni meaning more more more. Like Talkin/Tokki. That is always intentional and makes the lyrics multi layered. In Rm’s song Wildflower, he says Flowerworks instead of fireworks because the Korean word fireworks is actually made of two words Fire flower. I’m not Korean so I am am probably saying that clumsily. Ty!

The Whale is a symbol of ARMY as we are decipted along with BTS as riding on the back of huge purple whale. Also they have the song Whalin about the lonelist Whale in nature because other whales can't hear it's song.
