One of the reasons BTS is so popular is because they are one of the very few Kpop groups that appreciate, acknowledge and pay homage to Black Artists/Music because Kpop was essentially created to appeal to western audiences and more specifically incorporate Black music, which is why nowadays every group has a "rapper" even though they aren't really rappers, or auditioned to be vocalists. Most Idols just try to be black and Companies (especially SM Entertainment) have black writers/producers but never celebrate them meanwhile BTS appreciate black/rap & hip hop culture which is one of the many reasons BTS triumphed over everyone else.
Taehyung said in the soop that RM at 19 made all them to sit and listen to all hip hop songs. He gathered them around and said you guys should know about hip hop.
This is the song that sealed the deal and made me a army, as a hip hop head and a bgirls this just touched something in my heart. I literally cry everytime I hear this song, it touches something in my soul and moves me in a way no other songs does. I so relate to there love and passion for this crazy thing we call hip hop.
To the patreon who suggested this I LOVE YOU I loooove when reactors listen to this, it fills my heart with joy the fact that they respect hip hop culture so much 🥺💜 You should definitely listen to “moving on” and “sea”, songs where they tell their stories
What a classic bts song. So glad you found this. Just FYI, the ENTIRE Dark& Wild album is amazing. Give it a listen and watch lyrics vids and performances of the songs when you get a chance. Also the Hyyh 2015 concert that this performance is from ( i believe) is amazing. It was with an entirely live band. It's hard to find but worth the search Edit to add: I would strongly suggest you check out American Hustle Life and the entire older discography. Even before watching In the Soop ( although I LOVE that show!). It's helps to know the full perspective of their past from original sources, not just compilation vids . Helps round out the journey, chemistry and amazing success if you know exactly where they come from first hand. Just my opinion 😉
The Rap line killed it, especially Yoongi, this guy is fire. Also, the Vocal line did an amazing job. I really missed this style of BTS. Who suggested this THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS.
you need to check out old school bts. u are missing out big time. watch american hustle life before you watch in the soop. u want to learn more about bts and their hip hop love u need to watch AHL stat. also this performance is from HYYH, u Have to watch HYYH concert. wow they go so hard. its amazing
Thank you for these suggestions. I know most of their songs . Like the most famous song ( being ARMY for 3 years ) Ma city , like , on , moving on, etc) and the Dark & Wild album . But I never knew these other song and literally had a mental breakdown. I felt embarrassed to even call myself and ARMY cause I really don’t know all of their first songs . These songs a so underrated . Like I never heard this from them and am impressed but not surprised since their style was different. Imma listen to all of the songs and watch . Cause the song Hip Hop Phile was amazing and am sad no one told me about it. But I learn something new so that counts
@@wanna__fifiarmy9391 their dark & wild album is so underrated but in my opinion it’s their best album. I find it so sad that a lot of new army really don’t wanna take the time to listened to their older stuff.
@@Juli_613 I feel disappointed also and even tho am not a new ARMY, there’s a lot of stuff I haven’t watched and heard and I did recommend new ARMYs to listen to their old songs cause that will be magical and they get to know them better
@Le Tigre yes I know. Rip to that sweet girl. I don’t like that mv cuz it seems fake and something bts would never actually do for a music vid. Just seemed like a boring American mv. But i am glad they had the experience. I watched ahl a few months after I discovered bts and that show helped me gain so much more respect for them and helped me learn about them.
i love seeing people get shocked at how invested BTS is into hip hop. Especially when they name all the legends from back in the day. Rapline knows good music
Dt, you need to listen to more of BTS' old tracks, those are hidden gems! Hip hop lover is one of my all-time favourites, i love this side of bts so much.
This is one of the BEST songs paying homage and love for Hip Hop. When I first heard this song years back I really teared up when RM first started running off all the names of the Old School Artist that influenced him who are a part of my generation and I loved it!! CLASSIC TRACK!💜💜
DT Parker. This was a Lit 🔥 song. I liked it so much. I said the same thing When Suga came in, Here He comes lol. Yes definitely so special to know how they came with Rap and with the rest of the BTS singing back up WOW. 💯% Perfect like Always! Thank you for that video reaction.
i don’t know why but there is just something so endearing about jimin being namjoon’s hype man. i just feel there is something so special about their relationship behind the scenes n seeing sweet looking jimin there hyping up his hyung makes me feel happy. especially when namjoon links his arm with jimin’s. 🥺
What is hip hop to you? Yoongi: IT'S MY EVERTHING! 💜💜💜 Yoongi in his blessed verse on how he love hip hop and his music,, his love for music is sooo genuine,,, this is the end of me I'm dying😭 I haven't seen this until now,, one of their treasured performances. Thanks to this big ARMY, DT Parker sarangheo💜
glad you reacted to this. hip hop lover is one of my favourite bts songs of all time. the lyrics, the sound, it's amazing. i love that they embrace the hiphop culture and you can tell they really know their stuff, it's why they're such great musicians.
YESSSSS I love this song so much!!! It comes from my favorite BTS album, Dark and Wild! I love your reaction so much because you care about the lyrics and you actually pay attention to their story. Thank You!!!
Old school bts is the best❤️ Can someone tell him to react Ma city live come back home live let go live Jinjiminkook funniest trio Yoonmin bickering Jinkook bickering
DT, I'm an adolescent ARMY and I was going through their albums with lyrics so I found this song early!! I absolutely love it but you gotta hear RM rap the response to "Baby why you love that hip hop $#!+".... Listen to his inflection... "BECAUSE IT'S HIP HOP"! Like what other reason do you need, I remember saying this same response as a kid especially to songs with a slammin' baseline!! Like "Are you hearing what I'm hearing??!!" ... So relatable. I recently became a patron of yours under my other acct tho and was going to suggest this song so I'm glad you listened. Great reaction! Now watch it again for the performance aspect. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🇺🇸💜
Recently I feel emo everytime people react to bangtan old song. This time I really tear up because one of Yoongi's verse, "everyone around me asks what Hip Hop is? I confidently answer this, that its my everything"😢😢😢
I love this song, its lyrics are amazing and along with the hyyh era it is literally a masterpiece because the hyyh era is one of the best eras that bts has ever had, legendary.
You should check out their old albums (before 2016). Their music style is very different from now and you would learn so much more about their younger "selves", their stories, how everything started and how they struggled in the past. Hip hop Lover is one of my top favorites out of their previous songs.
DT many people think u gotta watch American Hustle Life (AHL) first before jumping into more recent shows like In the Soop and I TOTALLY AGREE. As many have commented here "Old school BTS is the best", then you should also give more time to see their old shows and AHL is one big part of it.
I've seen the lyric video of this before so MAHALO for reaction video to the live performance! It was great to see that! I love how each rapper had their own flow and story in the song, and a different vocalist came in after each rapper (JK after RM, Jimin after J-Hope, V after Suga). They all basically sing to support each others verses, which BTS does because they know all the lyrics to each others songs, which is really cool! Love this song!
I knew zero about hip-hop. But this song has names that I have heard...and then I researched and my mind was blown...so now I kinda know about hip-hop....I thought it was a genre but Its actually a whole culture...back in 2017 when I heard this song, I learnt about hip-hop from bts song...
if u really want to see how bts tried to learn hiphop in US, AMERICAN HUSTLE LIFE is the keeey omg i love that show sooooo much. i advice u too watch ahl first before in the soop
Thank you for reacting to this. Yes, there are so many sides of BTS. Also all there Life concerts are never the same. It's so sad that a lot of people don't really know how versityl and good they really are. Keep on to continu you're BTS Yourney.
BTS is not just an Idol, they can be your artists, performer, entertainer, comedian, inspiration and motivation, storyteller... they can be everything you need... Oh how much I really love this 7 amazing boys who are now become the 7 amazing men in this world and universe.
Omg DT I thought you’d heard this song already makes me wonder what other gems you’re missing out on 😳 I love love love this song so much because of the insight we get on their love for the culture. If you have t gone thru all of the bsides for dark and wild yet (or any of the older albums) please please consider it! I’d watch every one lol
I really love them for that when they talk about rap they always mention writes your lyrics or raps theses boys really love music I hope they can preform this songs in end year award
Warren G really helped to guide themselves in finding their own style...in their Hiphop camp during American Hustle Life. Even Coolio and the other mentors helped them.
