"I'm in my element" got the feel of it but in Korean he says "I'm a fish that met water" so the next line "soak up the music" makes much more sense and shows more creativity.

"I can relate to many parts of this song." "which part?" Breathing. That part killed me. Overall it was a great discussion. I can't wait to see what else J-Hope gives us. He's musical experience was bred from dancing, so you can imagine how all of his tracks tend to get the body moving, but there are still many avenues for him to explore so I expect that the album will have various motivations.

It gave me a Linkin Park/Jay Z Collision Course vibe. I liked this song and video a lot. IMO I don't think this new album is going to give J-Hope -dancing, bright colors, sunshine, smile. He has showed that aspect of himself for a decade with BTS. People change and hopefully grow, especially creatives. I think he wants to show another facet of himself. I always support artists who does different things to express themselves and their artistry. The album is called Jack In The Box. He just showed us with this video some of what is in Jung Ho Seok's box. Mind you this is just my opinion. Also I love Kurt's ? in depth reaction.

Hobi killed this. Absolutely loved it! This is going to be insane live which he is probably going to perform at Lollapalooza. Something to remember...JHope is making music he loves and we are just here along for the ride. If you don't like it then get off the train.

The teaser immediately gave me rock vibes. But even so, I was still blown away. The entire concept of Jack in the Box is already fire. I hope he performs this at Lollapalooza. Btw, KAWS himself designed the album artwork.

Some army translators on twt really broke down the lyrics too and I wish there was a way to pin them on the actual mv, I just love this songs whole vibe and what he’s saying. This song feels like an intro like the first song on the album. Ngl expecting the whole album to have similar vibes since he said it’s a whole story and follows a theme.

I enjoyed the discussion. At the FESTA dinner, J Hope said that the songs on his album will be sequential and tell a story. I see that MORE sets up the premise of the album. I think that we will see various genres of music. I have listened to this song many times and it has really grabbed hold of me.

HE IS BEYOND KPOP! Only j-hope have the balls to be adventurous with his sounds! He just blended rock metal, rap, hiphop and jazz there! His HopeWorld have so much genre in one song! He also utilise a lot of his amazing voice here with use of vocal fry and his beatboxing skills. He is that good and confident since he could do it all! He is the best of the best! He never stagnant! Keeps on learning! Now that is a true musician! An artist! Evolution and not stagnating! Lyrics is top notched too! Jack In The Box is coming! This is a pre-release track. And Kurt you are always the one who could understand Hobi most!

In past interviews, RM said they tried rolling with the punches with covid and the (unplanned) English trilogy were just products of what they can best do under the circumstances. Yes they were ready for solo works to try new/other things but the timing simply doesnt allow it (with so many life & deaths situations around the world + concerts were impossible) - it doesn't became a parallel or reason to say they found the plan B English trilogy unsatisfactory. RM specifically stated a time point after release of Butter & PTD in Festa dinner*. Dynamite & Butter bought them so many new experiences i don't think it's something they regretted and did express gratitude for, so many times. I have a prob with fans trying to reimagine his words to say that BTS had issues with the English trilogy. I do corporate planning and can see what transpired during covid for them was for the best. P/s: I didn't take parts of what they said during Festa (more specifically self over group parts) to be in the context of 2020/21 (& thus the English trilogy) since (1) the 2020 MOTS tour already planned to preface time off from groupwork, (2) the English trilogy were unplanned in the first place and (3) the world's covid upheaval also mean there wouldn't be good opportunities to try significant solo stuff even if they want to. *Which aligned the timeline in addition to RM saying trying for the Grammy again exhausted the group as with 'recent promotions' which puts time context to be 1st half of 2022 and possibly end of 2021 (after Butter).

@REDEMPTION 46 I watched so much BTS content I need go dig but here're some links on how BTS felt about the English trilogy : 1) Dynamite press conference - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0RMI5yTyYFE.html 2) SBS interview - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p1d3aaDGtL4.html 3) KBS interview - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--PMVYa87Ftg.html 4) Act RM did touch on it generally during Festa dinner (refer transcript on btsinterviews.wordpress.com), I quote him "I didn't know what I would do after ON but then Covid came up and we did Dynamite, Butter, PTD, LGO" = All these were unplanned and in reaction to Covid + the above interviews would give you context how BTS viewed these songs. RM said in Festa they wanted to try again for Grammys with Butter and even tho the process (not the song) left them exhausted, I say that's not an equivalent to them not standing by their English trilogy and original intention in releasing it.

I agree with this. They've said that they've already planned Chapter 2 (solo work) after the MOTS world tour. RM also said in the FESTA dinner that he didn't know what message he had to say after MOTS. That was why they needed the break -- to grow and mature and experience life. That they were able to create BE is proof of that. The pandemic gave them a new experience and so they did have things to say, messages of hope and consolation.

It's good that he spreads out into another direction. It shows that BTS were 7 talented individuals who can be superstars, concert holders on their own, and put them all together they are the super group. I do miss the choreography and hard work of all 7, and will be sad if they don't do that anymore like their younger days in their MV's. I'm waiting for when all 7 have a song in the top 10 which ARMY can make happen. It shows that BTS can do all genre, that they have something for everyone! That not ALL songs are for everyone, but there IS a BTS song for EVERYONE!

90's hip-hop w/ 90's alternative rock...gives me vibes of like run d.m.c/beastie boys mixed w/ nirvana. that beat is VERY 90s hiphop though, & the chorus brought in 90's alternative/grunge rock. he is so versatile it's insane actually...takes a lot of balls to do something, genre wise, not mainstream. i'm glad he's showing us something new (genre, vocals, flow), that's what being an artist is, constantly evolving. i'm VERY excited for this solo album, i think everyone should just throw their expectations out of the window when it comes to jhope, that's just my advice lol also, w/ the dancing...i like that he didn't do it. we already know he can dance like...i'm totally fine w/ nothing having choreo from this album tbh w/ u. this song is going to go SO HARD at lollapalooza!!! thank you for your reaction!!!

Hobi in the bed wears a mechanized helmet that looks like a jester's cap, but it moves like the antennae of a bug. This reminds me of Gregor in Kafka's work, Metamorphosis. It is the repetitive and boring aspects of Gregor's colorless life, devoid of meaning, that turns him into a bug that is repulsive to not only others, but to himself. The x-ray may signal Hobi's real self talking. As the Hobi in the x-ray ends his speech, he says that his work makes him breath and then he immediately takes in a breath saying "inhale, inhale, exhale, exhale" as a door opens onto the first room that is now given over to the chaos of creative work as there are ear buds, books, coffee, and the now-open box flying in the air. Hobi is freed, and he has told us that he is reckless. We next see the office now infected with the same chaos. The floating glass in the "grunge" space has been broken through to something more (and this imagery is used many times in BTS's work), but the breakthrough (the rock chorus) is still not enough, the artist is always becoming. Hobi also co-wrote Dionysus, and there are many tangential elements between these two songs that employ rap and rock soundscapes. For me, Dionysus is a profound meditation on the artist's persona and shows that these seven Korean men and their collaborators have a firmer grasp on the classical foundations of Western culture that we rarely express so spectacularly ourselves, and they show how this aligns to universal aspects in all art production. Wow!!!

I'm so proud of Hobi and didn't expect this at all. I'm loving the beat of this song and I love the drums and guitars and this side of our sunshine is wrecking me badly. This is a different side of hobi I thought I'd never see also I love the MV aswell and I love how his voice sounds as well as how rocky this sounds and I'm also loving this néw look on him aswell and I love how he raps. Basically words can't explain how I'm feeling right now about this song besides being bias wrecked. Hobi has set the bar so damn high for me now, Bangtan chapter 2 is already killing me now. I agree with Jerrick, I would be down if the whole album is more than this- but I do thing it's going to be more like what Z was saying, I think it's going to be a little of everything- Hiphop elements most likely will be the most prominent, But he did say he wanted to show other sides of himself. I'm looking forward to a vocal track from him though, I love his vocals and it would be great to hear more of that. If he chooses not to though, I'm fine with it. Dancing is Hobi's thing, I don't know if he'll ever give it up- least not till he's physically no longer able to. But I think he just wants to show other kinds of music that he can and has interest in and other sides to himself that we have not seen him tap into. I'm excited to see and hear more on the album, and I'm excited to see him tear up the Lollapalooza stage. 💜

If you've watched this and ain't subbed, you in the wrong. They put some serious time and effort into these reactions and all they asking is that you subscribe, watch, like and comment. Seriously, you just gotta hit 10 buttons to thank them! I love MORE. I've listened to it 100x and initially got a Limp Bizkit vibe (and I don't love her, but felt like ole school Gwen Stefani woulda been an interesting feature). But I still heard new and different things when I watched and broke it down with you guys. When watching/listening to MORE it's important for me to remember that this song stands on its own as a single, but it's still part of a complete album. I can't wait to see how this song "MORE" fits 🧩 into j-hope's "Jack in the Box" album as a whole!

My first time coming across your channel and I throughly enjoyed your analysis, theories, and perspectives. I believe it was the guy with the red cap (Zak) that predicted that Hobi’s latest project is gonna touch a variety of genres (paraphrasing). I agree with that theory. Hoseok is a Jack of all trades. There is no way he will only show case just this Aerosmith meets Run DM vibe. He wants to share his dark story and since he is so multifaceted, he will find sounds and styles to keep the listener on their toes. Also the guy with the red shirt…Kurt?!🤷🏽‍♀️ (sorry I suck at names) His observations were thought provoking. I literally had to go back and rewatch every scene/verse mentioned or described. 🤯 Appreciate how your minds work individually and corporately. Will definitely checkout the rest of your reactions. Who are these people that put in so much work into a BSide?? Yes I heard on the blogs this is a bside and the album might take a different direction. What shocked me the most was how he was brave to just create something and just put it out ther1e. Like all musicians should with out having to worry about who was listening and how well it would sell. Cause this is definitely not Kpop. ( I never ever saw them as Kpop I always saw it as a means to an end as they have always been musicians to me. But now to the world that doesn't know them one by one. Of all the boys I feel like I know Jhope the least, whenever there is a camera he is very professional and entertaining yet I couldn't tell you what kind of music he would like let alone create. This song and DNA demo coming out at the same time shows how much of themselves they have been hiding. But I am glad they are letting it out. Jhooooope!!!

It's more hiphop than rock, to me. The rock-type chorus/hook is only used as a motif, when it only used a sequence of 3 chords & nothing "more". But as we all know, this is only a pre-release track. As much as this is close to an emo-punk-grunge-rap 1990's style, would I dare say, perhaps prematurely, that Hobi will bring us back eventually to something close to Numetal (which is basically rap-rock or rap-metal), but in a new lite modern take. I would also not be surprised if Seo Taiji is one of Hobi's influences here. As far as dancing, I'm sure he will do that. Also, in the MV, the part where it starts panning out of the window & into the hole in the wall of the garage, is metaphorically J-Hope temporarily leaving BTS (the double casement window looks like the current BTS logo) & going into his solo-work. Note how the windows are closed, where as the BTS logo shows its abstract doors as being slightly open, which again means a hiatus from band activities for now. As it pans into the garage, he says "I'm doing it all", which would lead me to believe he will be doing more genres than before, such as rock & who knows what else. That means not only is he Jack In The Box, but also Jack Of All Trades. Also, JK & V make cameos. A new album teaser has come out today if you haven't seen it already.

His lyrics are very interesting and deep but the subtitles provided by big hit are very vague. They missed to translate the second and third verses efficiently. The company is shit as it is after the bts dinner mistranslation but they don’t even try to improve. You’ll find proper in dept translations on Twitter.

I like the song but I don't think it's a song I can listen to a lot. But I can't wait to see what the rest of his album will sound like. It was a bold move to release a song that is very different from anything J-Hope or BTS has done before but the response seems very positive. Even if this song isn't someone's cup of tea I think it breaks any stereotypes people have about BTS, J-Hope, or kpop in general.

This style is called “punk grunge rock which was famous in the 80s and the 90s” He is actually bringing back the gangster punk grunge rock style back even though it’s risky some people like this style of music and some people dont but regardless he killed this punk grunge rock and I haven’t heard this type of style in a while also this isn’t even his title song his title song his album comes out at July 15th this song is a prerelease of an album song (also his “screams” etc is pretty muted because it feels like he is trapped in a box) and also your right! I think this music video was heavily influenced by fight club as well given the main actor name in the movie is “JACK MOORE” “more” get it? And there is photos that show the same similar office in fight club and there is a lot of references of the fight club

IMO, this song may shock many or at least some people. the main reason is probably not the dark concept (it's actually still in a positive way even it may look dark) but rather the song itself. it is not a typical Kpop song people usually watch/hear but rather with more rock, punk and a little metal vibes in it. people, especially the international Kpop fans, may think Korean music has only Kpop or only means Kpop. in fact Korean music includes all kinds of different music genre from jazz, rap, rock to anything you name it. however it is just that Kpop is the most known and popular music genre to the world domestically and internationally. Kpop is just overshadowing all other music in Korea but it doesn't mean they don't exist or not being heard by people. I guess J-hope just wanna to break free from the stereotype of Kpop and explore something new or something less being paid attention to. with who he is and where he stands, he can afford to do it with or without the worrying of the consequences he may get with this new 'sound' solo album. Personally I thinks "more" is a great song as I am no stranger to the western rock vibes music even I may not be a complete rock (or heavy metal) fan. BTW he is gonna rock and hype up the whole crowd at lollapalooza 2022 in Chicago.

yep, not a 'typical kpop song' we used to hear or 'love'. but think about it, why not let a kpop idol or kpop idol(s) deviate from the mainstream a little bit for something new (in most people's minds or interpretations, Kpop is the mainstream and others are something new). In J-Hope's case. he may be doing something new for himself and Kpop fans. it is just something someone gotta to do it in Kpop and J-Hope seems to be the one. after all J-Hope with his status along with being a part of BTS, he can do it without the worrying of the consequences. additionally we still don't know if his new upcoming album is exactly or similarly close to this single "More". will the whole 'dark' out of the box concept go all the way throughout the album from the 1st track to the very last one. it remains to be seen until the moment the album is officially released. perhaps the only guarantee is that the music is gonna be good in this album possibly dark, rock, punk, kpop again and/or anything. guess we trust J-Hope on this one.

Props to JHope for doing the unexpected, he could have phoned it in and rapped and danced like we know he can, but he went rock, dark and gritty. Did not like it on first listen, in fact hated it...but I do like it now after a 2nd listen and respect JHope for the artist that he is.
