BTS | Mic Drop (방탄소년단 Live on SNL) Reaction 

Bts is like one of the only Kpop groups that ACTUALLY sings live, most groups have pre-recorded “live” vocals that they do in the studio & lip sync to them or have a backing track turned up to like 80% & their actual vocals are 20%. It’s so amazing how good BTS still sound live even doing such intense choreography 💜

SNL is a notoriously tough stage! BTS nailed both performances, going from fun and playful in Boy With Love to the total swag of Mic Drop. They opened quite a few American eyes that night. Loved your discussion of how hard it is to adapt to a different space and to pull out extra energy at the end.

I don't know Stray Kids well but I've heard they're pretty good. However, no live performance I've ever seen has topped BTS at MMA 2019. That performance was 🔥

It's like asking who's better, the teacher or the student. BTS has been the inspiration and role models for 4th Gen idols. Stray Kids look up to BTS and learned from them. BTS is still the best in the industry, but will Stray Kids one day surpass them technique wise? Who knows. They got the potential. BUT, I doubt any group can recreate a fandom like ARMY. This is a special relationship we only see once in a lifetime. May I suggest you react to BTS MMA 2019 live performance. You'll see why they're the legends. No groups can come close to what they did there.

BTS for me. The way they can tailor their choreo to fit whatever stage they're given is amazing. Mic Drop is often performed on MASSIVE stages and they have to know how to block it appropriately for whatever venue they have. Basically, at this point, BTS is the GOAT that all the other groups are trying to catch up to and emulate. From what I've seen, every new group coming out uses BTS as a model and as a playbook to respectfully learn from.

Well BTS are monsters at what they do … no let me rephrase that they are THE BEST in the industry so anyone compared to them is like .. well not really up there so BTS !!!!

Both BTS & Stray Kids are very good groups. But since I'm an Army, I choose BTS bec they have been in the industry for 10 years and have been doing different genres of music. I think some of the members of Stray Kids are also fans of BTS and they respect and admire BTS.

tbh no one can impress me after watching bts' performance espcially their mama, mma ahhhrg no wonder they always perform last in those award shows giving them almost 1 hour of performance time react to their mama2018,mma2018, mama2019,mm2019 so on ahhhh

Mic drop is always a straight banger! If you wanna see some more I recommend the MAMA 2019 performance. it is crazy! Also you should look into jimin's best dance videos and jhope! those two are crazy with choreo!

Definitely they are both the greatest at their craft... BTS has been perfoming for the longest, they are on their own league from the 3rd GEN groups, they for the most parts have set the standard. StrayKids are pros as well, one of the best representations of the 4th GEN groups. Love them both.

Its BTS! From the get go they're the best. I had to watch the live SKZ video you reacted to, to be fair and one thing I can say I am sure of about BTS is that they never had a break in their choreographies where the other members can rest by doing solo short choreo of each member during their live performances. So all their choreos including solos while the others are doing group choreos in the background during live performances is a testament to how differently cut they are from the rest of K-pop and how much harder they work than the rest.

SNL notoriously does not have the best sound. When BTS uses their own people and stage, the sound quality is much better. Even sound on Jimmy Fallon and James Corden is much better than SNL.

Y’all gotta show some love to the vocalists though.. missing more than half of the group lol the rapline has a song called “daengg” that’s so fire and clever cheeky bars… but there’s also a performance where the vocal line did the rapline parts and the rappers sang the hook and hyped up the vocalists.. it’s so much fun to watch… maybe it’s a good way for you guys to show the whole group some love. Also jungkook who is the main vocalist.. is also a sub rapper… the only vocalist who is… just like jhope is the only rapper who is a sub vocal… don’t sleep on sub rapper Jk too… he rapped in all the earlier songs but he was a fetus… still held his own though lol there’s some rap compilations of jungkook by like ida s…. Def not as good as the rapline and def not trying to say that… but considering how young he was.. that he’s never rapped and is the maknae… on top of being the main vocalist lead dancer and actual center of BTS … he killed it.. def worth checking out. Daengg at the very least with them all after you react to the rapline version or something

Please don't compare BTS and Stray Kids to nsync, Backstreet boys or any other western white boy boy bands. Cuz neither group limits their artistry to bubblegum pop songs in any way. And it's kinda insulting to both groups. Especially since, unlike western groups, both of the Korean groups write their own music

Jungkooks live vocals and adlibs… this man ate… the rapline def stood out and jk vocally was fire… the other vocalists are better than this… jimin had a cute little ending adlib that I love with that pop of his body!! So fire!!! But yeh jks consistency is wild.. also his adlibs for the rappers and vocalists just hit different t I think this was their very first time performing this…. Or maybe just this version.. but I think it was the first time if im remembered correctly

Junkook may favourite boy

My boy jungkook killing his vocals and I’m sorry the body rolls at the end he just hits different. BTS live performance are top tier… and no it’s not Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC… just listen to bangchan who said “BTS paved the way,” and he talked about how they’re the best of the best…. But stray kids is phenomenal and I love them also… but BTS is on another level bc they’ve been able to be out here in the west… but I’m sorry the mama 2019 is still better than anything I’ve ever seen live performances of… better than Coachella and the super bowl…. It’s the absolute goat… but like I said I love stray kids.. love the music the dancing and thing they’re amazing performers… I feel like they don’t sing or rap as live as BTS does… but I feel like their choreo in recent years has been more aerobic for the most part so that’s where that stuff slides…. But I stand by mma 2019 BTS is the greatest performance I’ve ever seen by a group … but I’m totally fine with ppl who disagree and think stray kids… bc like I said they’re insane too.. just personal opinion… but both groups are next level. Can’t compare snl to a normal performance lol

They both are PHENOMENAL live from what I've seen. They do excel at different things though without lacking in other aspects of performing. I think Stray kids is my preference though. I am biased, however, because I've seen more from SKZ. (Prep and how critical they are on themselves, fan interaction when they don't have coreo, breath control!)
