Jimin received an appreciation plague from the Kim Baek Bong Fan Dance Conservation Society, for his fan dance. This 3J performance was mesmerizing and so iconic. It gives me Pride in seeing how Proud they are in sharing their culture. It's why I fell in love with them and their culture. 💜🔥🥰

Yes, this was quite a year for them. Absolutely LOVE the complete Slapback at all those who were saying they were too Westernized -- showcasing the glory and beauty of Korea while showing how they use that and incorporate it into their music and dance. Amazing production. You can tell how much the audience really loved all the tradition, too. Have you seen the Idol performance on Jimmy Fallon? OMG - It was during Covid, I think, so it's remote, but it was when he did a BTS Week - so many good performances during that!

this was around the time many were calling them westernized and sell outs for promoting in the u.s. so they were trying to prove and show how proud they are of their culture and country.

This is how you convert the audience of an award show into ARMY, as the show becomes a BTS concert and everything else is just backing artists.

Remember how the Idol MV was mocking people who said they are too colorful, they've sold to the west (so they included a lot of Korean references)?... In here they brought that to the next level with all the Korean intro :)

I become an Army 2018. The idol performance came out because Kpop industry look down on BTS saying they are no longer Kpop and were more westernized. So they did that. No other Kpop group showed that much of s Korean Culture. Only BTS

That camera when I leave the dance bothers me, but that's okay. The vocals were so steady, Fake Love I felt like Jungkook and Jin were just killing it on the vocals but on Airplane pt 2 the mics were kinda low but this year 2018 was memorable for the boys and it was the turning point for them.

They give us energy all the time. Such an amazing thing. They were on fire from start to finish. So glad you enjoyed! They do it with a whole lot of practice. They exercise and sing while running on the treadmill to build up their stamina. They really work so hard. 2017 & 2018 they grew so much in USA it was wild. Remember 2018 is when they were talking about a break up of the band. It was a really hard year. Airplane pt. 2 is based on JHope's song lyrics. They used it to make a new song. The 3Js slayed those solo dances for sure. Jimin received an Award From a Cultural Fan Dance Conservation Society in Korea for this fan dance. He received an award for this fan dance performance. Jimin actually received an award from a Cultural Conservation Society for his performance but with the fan! Dancing with a prop is hard to do since a dancer has control of their body, they loose some control when dancing with a prop. It was executed perfectly.

The last song is a huge statement. They were told that used a lot o CGI, were against their own culture, bla, bla , a bunch of nonsense. So they used all cultural references they could. Get that you haters. And they won 8 awards. Check their speech. It is heartbreaking.

Only BTS can turn an award show into their own concert

There is a clip of zomeone saying how they came off stage after 20 straigjt minutes and they were all collapsed on the gloor. Staff was giving them oxygen and putting ice packs on them. They will even have IV drips to replace fuids. Then they do filmed bits to allow a little rest to change costumes and sets but the fans are entertained the whole time.

You might have to watch the IDOL MV again. They wore traditional clothes during some parts and the psychedelic stage background is very reminiscent of the MV. Perfect for a live performance vs MV. The MV is full of S. Korean symbolism and to me the live performance was as well. 💜

I wish I could go back to 2018 (and earlier) me and kick my butt - I missed a lot of the core growth years and it would have been great to be a part of that energy. Im so proud of BTS, they have it all, their talent deserves celebrating - I can imaging the euphoria of being in that crowd experiencing IDOL, it was everything. Ah I miss them all over again!

Yeah, award shows camera is sh**********t I don't remember if it was here or MAMA, but while dancing Idol many staff had to hold under the stage because everything was trembling, even in the audience seats. That strong is the dance xD And about proving something. Maybe proving that they are here to stay and they love each other. This was when they revealed (it was the end of the year) that at the beginning of the year they considered disbanding and such, so they came out strong.

If I remember it correctly, they were not the last group to perform that time. Just imagine what the next group felt like after seeing that. But 2019 - 2022 MMA and MAMA gave the last performance to them coz why not? 😅 However, BTS won't be in these awards shows because all of them will be in the military before end of this year. 😔

To understand a little more (just a little) who the hooded men of the initial VCR are, you should watch the extended version of the Fake Love MV :) It took me a while to find out about its existence and I have never seen anyone react to the video

I don't know about proof or show themselfs, more like it was hard year, very hard year, and I think it was feld in all thier award performances that year. But they always give it all on this things bc it is a way to show themself not only to fans but to new people, bc award shows are watched by many and some are for another artist, and maybe performance will make them look up music/band later... It would be bad PR to half ass award show even if you get like 7 minuts, you give 200%.
