BTS - MMA 2020 Performance reaction 

The whole point of not filling in for suga was really to say that he is irreplaceable. Even in all their events/pictures/run bts they brought his picture and even called him during receiving one of the awards they received at this show. They've also made a snowman suga in one of their performances and a 3D hologram of him at another. Theyre cute

I don’t know if you noticed but they left a spot for Yoongi in each performance. That is why in the Life Goes On performance J-Hope was up by himself so they could leave a space. Also they kept a backing track instead of singing for Yoongi basically to show that no one could replace him. His part is forever his. There is a space so they fans do notice some emptiness because Bts is always 7. It’s so wholesome

The low voice in Dynamite, where Jimin isn't singing, is actually RM. He mentioned it in one of the recent videos I saw.

i understand liking their bside tracks more than their title tracks it happens a lot to me as well and i’ve been here for almost all their albums i can definitely agree with u on that and it’s bc their bsides never act like filler tracks they’re usually strong contenders for when i’m trying to find a favourite

Their leaving a hole for a missing member was one of the things I noticed immediately and I stuck around out of curiosity. The respect they showed because of that turned me into a real fan and Army.

I watch almost every performance of the same song just because they always have something new to look at.

Suga hurt his shoulder years ago, back when they were trainees still, if I remember correctly. He was working as a delivery person and got sideswiped or something and that's when the injury occurred. He's been dealing with it for years, dealing with pain while dancing and stuff, the injury was getting worse though and this surgery was needed to stop further damage to the injury site due to their dancing and stuff...plus living with chronic pain is its own little Hell sometimes. I am Chronically ill a lot due to health problems so I kinda get it.

Yes. Suga’s part are all recorded. Its amazing that even though Suga is not around, they never tried to replace him with another member. Much respect for them.

You mention their coreography a lot and how well it fits with their music, I would definitely recommend chacking out some of their dance practices! You will notice things you didn't pick up on or weren't shown in the music videos. I would start with something like Fake Love, DNA, BST, or Idol, but really they're all worth checking out, and army would love to see you react to them.

I agree live vs MV. I feel you really hear their voices plus their unique personalities come through.

The people who were getting strikes on their channels were reacting to the MAMA awards you should definitely see it although you won't be able to post it here...it was really good...lots of people get confused when MMA and MAMA happen so close together and the names are so similar. Also if you like Jimin's growl you need to listen to the live performance of Tony Montana with Suga and Jimin also the map with the purple lights that was up is a map of twitter activity when BTS tweets something...there is a BTS research page that posts them every once in a while.

Their performances is what takes them over the top!

Shaking your head to do vibrato is actually not very good technique. Natural vibrato comes from the stomach and throat. Tae basically creates a cavern of space within his mouth and throat, like a cave, for his voice to resonate. That means he doesn't have to sing loudly because his mouth and throat are amplifying the sound for him. Because his voice is so naturally deep and resonant in his lower and mid range, he can sing very softly with minimal effort. Jimin, Jungkook, and Jin and much higher voices on the natural register so their lower ranges are not as resonant. However their higher ranges are, and to get a good resonance with a higher voice, you need to widen your mouth and flatten your tongue, so that you tongue is pressed up against your bottom teeth. You also have to use your stomach muscles to get a healthy belt. You can observe the differences in such techniques with other singers, but especially in choral and operatic singers.

BTS is always AAA for me. AMAZING, AWESOME AND ANOTHER LEVEL! They always bring it ON with their songs and performances and give their audience a total wholesome experience. They are such dedicated artists who deeply cares for their fans. I have so much love and respect for them.💜 I get what you mean about your favorites not being their title tracks. I basically like all their songs so far but the ones that I love are not their main title songs like Zero O'Clock, Innerchild or UGH! on the MOTS 7 album. They are so versatile that they have songs for almost everyone to love and enjoy. AAA!😄

Maybe it’s only me but in your reactions you use to talk when Jin is singing, Jin is an amazing singer, he is the one with less lyrics so please I understand that you love JK, JImin and V but please respect him too. I do agree that their B tracks are actually more... how should I say it, have more depth and character than the title tracks. So, like you I prefer Fly to My Room, Blue and Grey, and DIS-EASE! Nonetheless their performances just lift up the songs to another level... so, Black Swan becomes memorable and powerfully etched in one’s mind...

I believe I saw news of him getting a vocal coach somewhere on Naver. 20:10 all of Yoongi's parts are pre-recorded since he wasn't there. 26:47 part of the remix. 29:22 they've always had a smattering of MJ moves in the vid too.

I definitely advice you to watch 'BTS Full Performance - SBS Gayo Daejon 2020' (Black Swan, Life Goes On and Dynamite - this order). Christmas versions of each songs sound amazing, sets and going from one performance to the next one are great, and how cool they played with absented Yoongi

This is the JK I like best: long hair. Right know that they are in their "vacations" they are all long hair, love it. ON is one of my favorites and it is cause of the choreo and the lyrics!!! It is such an empowering song.

That Black Swan performance is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. And the ON set is basically their old N.O set. Look at JK? OK, if you make me 😉 Jimin growling in ON and Idol gives me life. Yes, ARMY with ARMY bombs from their online concert. They all look so good in those MJ-inspired clothes in Dynamite--especially Hobi in the velvet jumpsuit! And for some reason Jimin has been not singing that part so we hear that deep electronic voice much more clearly now. Who know why. Thank you! This was really fun to watch with you 💜

BTS performs a breathtakingly spectacular totally LIT over 12 min nonstop medley of some of their most popular, songs: Dope; Baepsae; Fire; & Idol from one of their many sold out concerts in stadiums holding over 80K, this time in Osaka, Japan, during BTS 2019 Speak Yourself Tour. What made this particular concert that much more special, was that it was held during the day, instead of evening, so you could see everything that much clearer! Their concerts usually go for around 2 1/2 hrs without hardly a break, except when they go dry off, breath some oxygen, change outfits, & come up for air.

Jimin always use that growl in live on perform. Suga has shoulder problem since even before debut due 2 an accident. He performed surgery now bcz it was getting worse. I am so happy that Grammy is postponed so suga may be able 2 perform u can also watch MAMA perform. It was really good too

The power of performance can be really transformative. I've also got songs that were either "meh" for me or that I outright disliked when I listened to them but seeing them performed made me change my opinion for the better. Jamais Vu was one. It was skip for me on Persona but the performance at BangBangCon was so good-the set, the styling, the vocals and the emotion-that it made me look at it in a whole new way. I wouldn't say it's a fave but it's definitely not a skip anymore and I really do enjoy listening to it now.

Yeah, the Suga spots are left that way on purpose. Because Jungkook has replaced RM before when he was out with his surgery. So you're right they could do it but don't. Also the deep voice when Jimin doesn't sing is in the original mix but I think part of the reason he didn't sing there was so you could focus on WHAT he was doing. He was doing classic MJ moves when Michael would pull up his sleeves and the particular hand moves. Those were all Michael.

You should watch more live performances, Jimin growls very often :D

Given your taste in music I think you would love the latest 'BTS Cola' add. I know this sounds weird (I normally don't go out of my way to listen to adds - but I love this one and actually listen to it multiple times a day). I think you would really like it. It is basically a BTS (vocal line) version of 'X Ambassadors, Jamie N Commons - Jungle'.

In the Dynamite opening I love to hear the little sound his voice makes when he hits his chest doing the King Kong move. He makes his voice, idk what’s it called, it doesn’t crack but kinda like forces too much air out because he just hit his lung area lol It’s basically the only difference from the album version because everything else is perfect.

A great Jimin growl is the Medley from Speak Yourself the Final in Seoul. It's Dope, Baepsae, Fire, and Run. But as I read other comments you've already seen one of those performances. Also, I think all the members know that JK has the build to actually be a badass if he wasn't so sweet. He is the most athletic one (no, not the only, they are all pretty super stupid athletic) and usually is the heaviest but leanest. Also, they didn't want to replace Suga, as he is irreplaceable. They always left a gap/spot for him. I am guessing they feel pretty incomplete performing without him. :)

Far as I know, traditionally, training for KPOP singers are focused in "aesthetic" as much as in voice. Companies train their artists and prefer their artists to sing with little to no facial strains i.e. chin moving during a vibrato or eyebrows crunching on high notes. As much as possible they want their artist to still look "beautiful" while singing hence train them to sing powerfully while staying easy to look at, if that makes sense. Hard to describe haha. In auditions, those who sing without difficulty gets more chances of being picked as trainees.

there are actually a bunch of old performances where jimin used to growl a lot more than he does now... i really like when he growls he has a really good voice for it

The part with the voice? I wondered if it wasn't an accident. It's a live show and I wondered if accident a sound engineer was singing along and accidently pressed a wrong button? Working in music and tv production I kind of think that could have happened. The voice just is so out of place.
